At 52 yoa I recently started using the bonnet. What a game changer this has been for me. Time saver in the morning. Know that your curl pattern will change as you go through life. Hair wash day for me too has always been on Sunday. As a curly girl we always have at least 8-10 different types of hair products in our bathrooms and our hair may love a line of products for years then stop working and then you are on the hunt for new hair care products. I have had curly hair since age 16, yes that is correct! Prior to age 16 my hair went through a transformation it was frizzy from ages 14-16 and before that stick straight.
I am a new subber. I Loooooove your curls! Thank you!!! I grew up when people blew out their curls with a hair dryer...& I have a thick head of hair! I low key hated going to the hairdresser. UNTIL in High School, a new hairdresser played around & had fun in showing me what he was doing with my hair. I have grown immensely with my curls & knowing is ALL the power! Curly Girlie Uniting!!!!! ✌🏻 Happy Mother's Day Brenda!
Welcome!! Thank you so much for subscribing! I completely understand, I had the same experiences growing up. It has definitely been a journey for me as well. Just learning about our hair makes such huge difference. Happy Mothers day to you as well 💝💝
@Brendacurlstylist 13:35 HI Brenda, I love how you are teaching us how to handle our natural hair. After a lifetime of relaxing my hair I decided to stop the process. Trust me, dealing with my natural "Puerto Rican Hair" has been a bit difficult. I find find that its very dry and frizzy even after several products. Do you think the product you mentioned will help? I relocated from NJ to Arizona , the majority of stylist do not know how to handle my hair.😢 TIA
She's adorable and extremely talented. I've watched nearly all the shorts, I'm so glad I clicked on the longer videos, as not only do we get great tips and tricks, but we get to enjoy her fun personality. My only critique is my bank balance took a hit as I jumped back and forth from here to Amazon prime 😂 Haha, I've always used a toothbrush for my baby hairs, literally for 15 years. I do have a brush for my edges, but I always go back to a toothbrush as it's something I've done since I was a kid lol (obviously it's unused on my teeth and I go through a lot as I buy a multi pack, so I always have a spare for my edges 😂)
I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I watch a lot of your shorts. Your videos make me want to try to go curly instead of wearing my hair straight all the time
Thank you for the inspiration on reviving my curls after day 1 for me! :) I get lazy and just put it in a braid when I should be taking care of my curls
Hi, can you do a updated video since two of the ouidad products are no longer available. Or what would be your best recommendations/substitution for the hairspray and shine spray. TIA
I have a similar hair texture to yours & this is very much what I do to prep my curls. I do not use the diffuser though, I find that the hair dressers do not know how to use the diffuser and my hair just looks like a huge mess, also they do not use enough product and they are not aware of breaking the cast with oil. Yeah. 🙄 Love from T&T!
I wish I could get a haircut from you. I'm here in LA and still can't find a good curly cutter. My Hashimotos, autoimmunity, age and stress has made me lose my thick beautiful curls and now my hair is dry, barely curly, thin and see thru plus frizz. Now caretaking both elderly parents and never have time or money to cut my hair so guess I'm going to cut it myself again. Wasn't bad the first time I did it.
You’re such a blessing. Thank you for the videos they are so insightful for all of us who need it in our curly hair journey. If you can, could you please let me know if you would recommend putting any product on an infants hair to give her little curls a bit more of definition? God bless you 💜
Brenda I live in Massachusetts, any curly salon you recommend or know. I have been to some and have not gotten good results.😢 Thank you for this type of videos they help a ton! ❤
I'm a New Subscriber and I absolutely Love Ur Vids Ur the Reason I'm Transitioning to my Natural hair 💯 but I look forward to more Vids and Tios to keeping my hair Curly n Bomb Ttyl God Bless 🫶🏽🙏🏽
Hi love, thank you so much for your feedback !Ouidad is a great option. It ranges around $15-30$, I recommend to invest into quality products. In the long term, these products will not dry out your hair, unlike certain products you can get in your local drugstore. For example, I wouldn't recommend Cantu, It tends to be super heavy and oil based. In my experience, Ive noticed clients who sit in my chair and use cheaper alternatives have dry hair due to this.
Can you help me by suggesting products to get nice curls on wash day? I still haven’t found the right products. I have thick and coarse curls with lots of grays. Similar to your curl pattern
I know your expertise is with naturally curly hair. I have permed hair due to having lost probably 75% of my hair and I wanted more fullness. Have you ever work on permed hair? If so, any additional suggestions for folks like me?
Hi love, I normally work with natural textures. It shouldn't be such huge difference. I would recommend for you to stay on top of your hair mask and deep containing treatments to keep your hair moisturize and hydrated from drying out. Also, invest into quality products. I recommend Ouidad, AG, Innersense Organic beauty, Kenra Styling.
To fully revert, you'll have to cut it off, but you don't have to cut it all at once. A centimeter or two every 6 weeks will do enough, just avoid future heat damage by using heat protectant before styling and stay on top of your protein/deep conditioning treatments. It can take up to 18 months this way depending on your length and amount of damage, but it absolutely can look good during that time, just takes a bit more effort.

What mask and shampoo did you use on her hair?
What products do you recommend for 4c hair? My granddaughter is trying to let her hair grow and trying to get natural curls..
I recommend Mielle for tighter curls. I love the Mielle Coil Custard🙌🏽 use that with a lot of water and style in sections ❤
@@brendacurlstylist thank you very much
Love that you do videos for curly hair! Is there any inexpensive hair products you recommend for us who cant afford those products?

You are welcome love, I just used a little bit of gel💚
@@brendacurlstylist thank you for your answer. What is the gel you used please ?
Would you do any of these steps differently for really long curly hair?
Hi love, It will be the same steps for long hair💗
when you refresh do you have to use the same products?

Hi Brenda! Just subscribed😊 where are you located? I'd love to have an appointment .
I wish I knew where she was- I hear a NYC accent but I don’t know where she actually works.
She’s in Florida
Like your videos I’m a curly guy. What’s your opinion on curly friendly products like water soluble?
I KNEW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS BEEN KO'ED BY MY DEFUSIER! lol 😂😅

So I ruined my curls from ‘heat damaged’. I mean, it’s so bad. Im still natural tho. Is there a way to revert or I have to cut it off?
