    John recorded that song in 1979 with Kathi McDonald. Their version was great and he had some chart success with the song.

      Yeah, his version with Kathi is amazing. This rendition is more like his 1966 recording from ‘Looking at Long John.’

    First time hearing this version--my favourite is his duet with Kathi McDonald. This is more restrained, more akin to the Righteous Brothers and the late 60's but I just don't like it. LBJ has pain and passion in his voice and although Bobbi has a pure and gorgeous voice, the emoting seems flat and they don't seem to be connecting. 😕

    Bobbie is being quite modest with what she could have done with this song here. Perhaps good manners and respect nor need to upstage the guest star of the show.
