There could've been a hospital chase scene or something like a callback to Halloween 2. Michael being stopped by some stones and not concluding Loomis's story also sucks, but at least Michael doesn't just murder everyone all of a sudden leaving it unexplained why he didn't do it earlier.
It seems incredibly dumb now but as a teen I appreciated that they found an actual way to explain all of the random canon elements that had built up over the years - There were probably worse ways to explain why Michael was immortal, silent and super strong, appeared at random years, needed to kill his family and had a weird tattoo.

As Ive seen both these cuts for years I semi recently only found out / Realised Kim Darby is the Same actress from the Original True Grit in 1969 Who plays a Strode Mom here and back then Played the Little Girl John Wayne Protects in that movie.
I forget if it's in the Producer's Cut or the Theatrical, but the Shock Jock's death was explained in one of them. The Idiot got into the wrong Van which was being used by Michael.
25:47 In the 2018 film Michael crashed the transfer bus by killing the guard and the driver. Sartain just took advantage of his escape to use Michael's killing spree to study him and hoped to learn why he killed.
Like the Producer's cut better than the theatrical cut! The opening dialog by Loomis is so much better than Rudd! I love the fact that Jamie isn't killed in the very beginning, her character lasts longer and is killed in the hospital. Not a great sequel either way but th Producer's cut is more palatable!
I honestly think the Producer's Cut is still the better film and one of the better sequels in the franchise. the Theatrical Cut just has too many loud jump scares and terrible strobe effects which makes it unwatchable at times while the Producer's Cut stays closer to it's less is more roots. the major difference and jump in quality between tone and editing is definitely noticeable, which is why I can't honestly agree with both versions being a mess.
Wouldn't it be funny during that one scene when they're in the Sanctum in the producers cut. And they're all standing around in their cult uniforms including Michael Myers. They'll start seeing the Stonecutters song from The Simpsons. Who robs cave fish of their sight who rigs every Oscar night, we do.
In 1988-1989 I would have been seeing 6 movies.. Halloween 4, Friday the 13th part 7, Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Halloween 5, Friday the 13th part 8 and Nightmare on Elm Street 5... I like all of those movies cool time to be into horror can care less if the movies made a little less money Freddy Michael and Jason were still popular.
Okay Doctor Wolfula's jokes were on POINT in this video. Until Halloween 2018 I'd say this is by far the best Halloween sequel of them all - Kara is great, Tommy Doyle is interesting even if weird, the mood and atmosphere is fantastic, and if you prefer the producer's cut like I do the music is also perfect as well. Obviously if Laurie had been more prominent or driven in the first sequel I'd consider that one better, but this is honestly a well crafted movie and I find the characters to be some of the most interesting in the entire franchise.
@@markpritzlaff7065 I hate the hospital staff in Halloween 2 and Laurie is a vegetable. Stabbing Michael in the eye with a coat hanger was pure luck, to shoot him in both eyes twice and not go through his brain...OK.... The first 30 minutes of H2 are fantastic but then it really derails until the end. H4 is middle of the road for me - I love Rachel and Jamie but they're the only real bright spots in an otherwise mediocre movie. At least this one is rather faithful to many parts of the original and the characters are more fleshed out and usually sympathetic.
I hope you were joking about Ant-Man 1 and 2. If not, then OUCH, Doc. I think Paul Rudd is awesome in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nobody could've been better chosen for that role than him. And yeah, for his big screen debut (even though this came out after "Clueless"), he did all right. I did kinda see him as a next-gen Dr. Loomis, honestly. Also, yeah, John Strode's death in the theatrical cut is DEFINITELY, as you said, "Savage as F*CK!!!" Speaking of the character, I didn't know he was Laurie's uncle. I kinda wondered why he worked at the Strode Real Estate company. Thanks for the trivia there.
Having one of the returning characters become the Loomis archetype is the natural progression of the story in my opinion, and with Jamie Lee Curtis not returning for this film, it does make sense for Tommy Doyle (or Lindsey Wallace, or hell, nurse chambers) to become that character
The problem is Tommy Doyle hadn’t been scene since the original and had not been built up nearly enough. Also while I really like Paul Rudd, his acting in this film was not that good.
@@michaelsinger4638 But Tommy and Marion both have natural ins to that role since they actually interact with Loomis and actually have a position where they could stand to try to "understand" Myers a bit more, for Laurie it's just personal/ptsd and she has no relationship to Loomis - Marion and Tommy are easily better choices than Laurie.
while i always figured that calling the cops would be useless since in Halloween 4 Meyers decimated an office full of deputies. i’m like 13 minutes into this and i really like the old one and this new one equally.
To be fair, maybe Jamie didn't call the cops because the last time Michael got locked up and she was in a police station it got blown to shit and she got kidnapped

I always chose to see the producers cut end as Michael being free the way he clinches his hand to a fist with Wynn I interpret as him upset for all he's done to him and with Loomis as his caretaker I always wanted to see Michael go the route of more of an antihero. I certainly imagine that cult was a fraction of what's out there and a Halloween of Michael getting that revenge could have been nice. It allows the kills we all wanna see but with a badass in a mask taking down even worse people . My thoughts are probably over the top but something about watching the producers cut for the first time made me want Michael to be a good guy or anti hero better said ever since he's definitely more redeemable than Freddy or Jason

The police were apparently just too busy to answer the phone
Dr. Wolfula and the Halloween season go together like spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs!
Been following for 7 years and it's great to see you are keeping up the tradition for ahhhctober.🎃
Producer's cut.
@@LordBitememan That really was 5 seconds they should have left in the theatrical version.
I agree with you
It wouldn’t be October without this man
I honestly think the Producer's Cut is still the better film and one of the better sequels in the franchise. the Theatrical Cut just has too many loud jump scares and terrible strobe effects which makes it unwatchable at times while the Producer's Cut stays closer to it's less is more roots. the major difference and jump in quality between tone and editing is definitely noticeable, which is why I can't honestly agree with both versions being a mess.
So happy to see AHHTOBER back! Im heading to Salem this week for a spooky ass vacation 🎃
This movie has one of the best Michael Myers
My preferred version is the fan made hybrid cut
Two questions: Is that real? And where can I find it?
@@manicpixiefangirl4189 yes it’s real. Just go to Drumdums channel or his Facebook and hit him up. I have a copy of it myself that he sent to me.
I can’t wait for his Halloween Kills MEGA review.
The best thing about this movie was the song “and fools shine on” by Brother Cane.
You think this is a better sequel than part 2 and 4?
Dude. You couldn’t have done this a half hour ago? My lunch break is over and I have to wait til after work now. Damn you Doc.
What an incredible treat Doctor! This is your finest work and it's obvious your love for Halloween. Your channel just keeps getting better by the episode. You the man/Wolf/Doc!
*sees the words Producers Cut*
Ooooh boy.. Cue the incest
Happy Ahhhctober! When you talk about Paul Rudd in the bus station, you mention fights on the bus and the blood trail. My roommate and I were watching this the other day and i had a thought. If im anywhere, bus station or even McDonalds. If i notice a blood trail and that trail takes me to a womens bathroom door, imma think, hey some girl needs a tampon! 😂
R.I.P. Donald Pleasance
Always watching these reviews in late Summer to get in the right mood for the next AHHctober.
Been waiting a long time for this , Happy AHHctober Doc!
The runes in the movie are from Norse mythology, not Celtic mythology, and they're not Satanic
"Worth every penny."
I couldn't agree more.
Once you get past four things go full Friday the 13th. I can always tell hard-core fans because they enjoy the later Halloween films. I am one of those weirdos.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the idea for future until Donald died
@@johnepants I would have definitely been on board for that movie
Nope this movie doesn’t exist to me
I lost it at “appropriately dressed as a tampon” 😂
i remember watching halloween 4 when i was ten, and then halloween 6 when i was 13, and just assumed Jamie was another one of michael's relatives.
Who tf milked Michael!?
Makes me want to watch Prince of Darkness for that late Don Pleasance goodness.
The actress who played the nurse was the Little girl from Audrey Rose
And the month is off to an excellent start! Happy AHHctober Doc!
The Beth actress is the model on the cover of Alice in Chains Dirt album
I love this movie I even got thorn tattoo. Great review doc 🤘🐺🤘
