Happy Friday the 13th! Been subscribed since you made the Jason X video. So like 8+ years. I've only ever disagreed with your opinion once. But I understand why. I love the Rob Zombie Halloween films, specifically the 2nd one. H2 was my introduction to Michael Meyers and holds a special place in my heart bc of that.
Haven't watched this vid yet but just saw this comment before it started. So happy to hear this, I always say it's actually one of the best movies but just lets you down on the Jason thing. Obviously you can't help but but hold a gripe with the movie for it not being him but damn it's a well made movie and I enjoy everytime it's on.
I have to admit, I really dislike the 5th film (and it's one of the first ones I saw)...but I totally respect people having their own favorites. I personally love the first film most...but certainly not everyone agrees with me. My wife & I even spent the night at the original camp from the 1st film (with Adrienne King and other cast members). We actually slept in the same cabin that was turned into the bathroom in the film (the same cabin with the showers and the famous axe scene)...it was kind of hard to sleep.
In my opinion the Friday The 13th remake is one of the better remakes. I like how they turned Jason into a survivalist type who can do things like use a bow and set traps. It's like if Rambo was a slasher killer.
@@thedarkmasterthedarkmaster No it's actually not on the Freddy album. Which is quite strange. It's a Fatboys song with Freddy on it. The man behind the mask is definitely a better song though. I also really like Prince of Darkness from Alice Cooper. It's a great song for a great movie. His cameo in John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness is fantastic with the bicycle kill to.
Parts 3 and 6 will always be my favorites. Part 3 has a charm to it, despite the cheesy 3D gimmick. The girls are the hottest collection in any single movie of the series, Shelly is one of the most sympathetic characters in the series, and Jason gets his hockey mask for the first time. And Chili's death? Probably a master class in so-bad-it's-glorious. But I agree with Doc about Jason Lives being the best because it's a fun ride that actually has a plot that drives the movie forward and a protagonist to root for. We get full-on unkillable Zombie Jason, and the graveyard opening and the climax on the burning lake are iconic.
I agree that part 3 is sometimes slept on. While it has some bad acting and useless 3D moments, Richard Brooker's Jason for me stole the show. I'd put it just below part 2, 6 and 4. I also love how it connects with part 4(my favorite movie), which I dare to say also has the hottest cast lmao

@@BWSBwoi, Richard Brooker was an amazingly creepy Jason. And Kane Hodder is insanely overrated. He wasn't as good as Richard, or CJ Graham.
@ I think each actor(especially the first ones)added something to Jason's personality, but Kane Hodder is too overrated imo. I don't like how he acts like he shaped Jason, when he said stuff like Jason doesn't run. I would have liked another sequel with Richard Brooker or Ted White(he was the most brutal imo, shoutout to Derek Mears aswell).
Happy Friday the 13th!! Always fun to see how fans have the series ranked. For me it goes: 12. Jason X 11. Jason Takes Manhattan 10. Jason Goes to Hell 9. Freddy vs Jason 8. Remake 7. Original 6. The New Blood 5. A New Beginning 4. Part 3 3. Part 2 2. The Final Chapter 1. Jason Lives
Other than number 1 which is correct....... My God that list is so wrong to me.. putting 8 and X below hell. That's insanity. 2 above 3 is just wrong. Original above remake is terrible. Freddy vs Jason being that low .... No
Happy Friday the 13th. The best franchises establish a lore, and build upon it while changing little to nothing, Friday is the perfect franchise to use as an example, as you get both sides of the coin. Thanks Cyd.
Part 2 is the best. If you took away all of the others it can stand alone as a damn good horror movie. The wheelchair sequence might actually be one of the most vicious kills in movie history. This one is genuinely scary. The others are mostly just fun. For a first time, no spoilers watch, you have no idea who will survive this one!
Would say that describes part 4 more. Part 4 is the prototypical slasher movie and is very good. When people think of slasher movies, it’s part 4 they picture. Part 2 and 6 are more “Friday the 13th films” as they take place in a camp, even if most of these movies are “Cabin in the woods films” than camp movies.
@@thomasffrench3639 Prototypical slasher movie? Really? You have some gaps in your slasher film knowledge. Part 4 is good, but only in comparison with later efforts (I can't believe you would think 6 is good. Fun, maybe but not good). The first movie is the most "Friday the 13th" because it was the first and was not made expecting sequels. Part 3 is mostly recognizes because it introduced the (fake) hockey-mask that became iconic for the character of Jason. You may be right about prt 4, but only because it was the first (and only) serious Friday movie to be serious and feature the hockey mask. Remember all the silly 3D shit and pop music from 3? 4 cannot stand alone. It starts with Jason being carted to the morgue. Why?. This would make no sense as a stand alone move and is pretty stupid. Part 2 has a segue giving the whole back story, Jason is introduced as a man child living in a unbelievably creepy shack in the woods with no stupid supernatural crap. It would have been cooler if Jason had his hockey mask and not the stupid bag, and to tell you the truth, I think that may actually be the factor that sways so many opinions. No hockey mask (fake), no Jason Vorhees. Part 2 is the best! Young"uns laugh at Friday the 13th as a concept. When I show them part 2, they shut up. Result.....
Personally (equally valid to anyone else) they are both equal. The second captures the campiness though part 4 is the most frightening as a horror movie
My ranking: (After quite a few years, my opinion has changed) 1. Jason Lives 2. Final Chapter 3. New Blood 4. Part 3 5. Part 2 6 .Part 1 7. 2009 remake 8.. Part 5 9. Freddy vs Jason 10. Part 8 11. Jason X 12. Jason Goes to Hell

I actually really enjoyed the remake... i know thats a very unpopular opinion lol. But for my worst to best.. 12. Final Friday 11. Takes Manhattan 10. Friday the 13th 9. New Beginning 8. Part 2 7. Freddy vs Jason 6. Jason X 5. Part 3 4. New Blood 3. Remake 2. Part 4 1. Jason Lives
This list is similar to mine. Aside from Manhattan being low on the list and 4 is overrated. 3 is the only oldie I love. 4 was decent. The characters were boring aside from Tommy. 3 has a better cast and more fun scenes with Jason.
@@AKookieForYou I have unpopular opinions about everything. Horror is definitely one. Manhattan being one of my favorites while it's at the bottom of everyone's. And most people rank the original pretty high and it's next to the bottom for me
@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject Yeah I'm one of the people who dislike Manhattan lol. But I'm not a big fan of the original either, it's really boring to me. My other unpopular opinion is that I really love Freddy vs Jason, probably because I'm a huge Freddy fan and Jason was really fun in it, most people don't care for it though.
12. Jason goes to hell 11. Friday the 13th 2009 10. Jason takes Manhattan 9. Part 3D 8. Jason X 7. The original 6. Part 2 5. The new beginning 4. The new blood 3. Jason lives 2. Freddy vs Jason 1. The final chapter

Cant think of a ranking right now, but I will say my favorite look for Jason is takes Manhattan. That is one of the cool things about Jason is that they change him up visually in every movie but it never feels odd.
Cool to see your perspective. My ranking: 12. Jason Goes to Hell 11. Jason Takes Manhattan 10. Jason X 9. The New Blood 8. Part 1 7. Freddy vs Jason 6. Remake 5. Jason Lives 4. Part 3 3. A New Beginning 2. The Final Chapter 1. Part 2

Part 3 was also intended as the final film, which is why Jason was killed at the end, but it made money, so part 4 had to be the end, but then that made money, and do on.. Jason Lives is also one of my favorites, I remember on the early days of the Internet, finding storyboards for the deleted scenes, where I saw the triple decapitation for the first time.
Jason lives is my personal favorite of the franchise, as it was the first of the squeals I saw in full thanks to AMC airing it during Monster/Fear Fest, plus who can forget He's back, the man behind the mask by Alice Cooper.
I like your rankings and it matches closely to mine. I really can’t choose between 4-7, they all have a lot that I love. I really like part 7 just a bit more due to how Jason looks.
Part 4 will always be my favorite in the franchise picking right up where Part 3 ended. Ted White was a good Jason, even though he didn't really appreciate the role at the time, and how could you not like Crispin Glover in it, one of the coolest nerds ever. His friend Ted in the movie picked on him saying he was a dead fuck, but Jimbo got to score with one of the Doublemint Twins while poor Teddy still remained as being 'The Last American Virgin,' Yeah, the first four films are the best imo with the classic Manfredini scoring. Chris(Dana Kimmell)from part 3 is my favorite final girl. I think she's really pretty and one of the few F13 final girls that wasn't a blonde. Unfortunately the series got overly campy by the time Kane Hodder took on the role of Jason. Kane Hodder's Jason wasn't running anymore and he became instant teleportation Jason. That heavy air bag breathing thing he would do was really dumb too.
12. Friday the 13th part VIII 11. Jason X 10. I am so glad that I'm not the only one who also likes Jason X! But Friday the 13th (1980) is my favorite Friday the 13th out of the whole enitre Friday the 13th movie!
My ranking tends to change from time to time, but a consistent worst for me is Jason X and the consistent best for me is Part 6. I do tend to sort of enjoy the black sheep of some horror series, if they're different at least. So, yes, I do have some enjoyment for Part 5 and Jason Goes to Hell, the latter just for how ridiculous it is. The rest tends to shift every now and then.
I agree with Jason lives 1 Jason lives also it my favorite horror movie of all time 2 part 2 3 the new blood 4 original 5 the final chapter 6 Freddy vs Jason 7 Jason x 8 Jason takes Manhattan 9 3D 10 remake 11 a new beginning 12 goes to hell

@@Primal-Dude I just have a lot of nostalgia for it and I love Kane Hodder and I really like Tina. Part 7 Jason is also my favorite I really love part 3 to so it kind of changes places with 7 a lot but I've grown to appreciate part 2 a lot more to
The Freddy vs Jason vs Ash comics tried to explain the whole “dream sequence” thing from part 8 by having her interact with the psychic girl from part 7 and the 2 girls realize that they have something in common
Your list rules. I'm shocked you have Jason Lives as #1, but also happy. It's my favorite too. I love the Universal Horror film opening and Jason's Frankenstein-like turn into a reanimated zombie. I would be have part 3 higher on the list, but yours is really close to mine
Nice! For the most part I'll agree With your rankings. 9 has ALWAYS been THE bottom of the baggie worst of the bunch to me, even worse than the '09 reboot. At least that gave Jason a new edge, a more brutal survivalist character than an undead meat-tank forest-shark. (Both, fine concepts 👍) I've always felt 1 was overrated, being boring AF and forgettable but for the introduction of the lore. 5 feels to me like it has received too much undeserved hate over the years just because Jason isnt the killer. It's more engaging and memorable for me than most seem to feel. Similarly I always defend Jason X as being MUCH higher on my list, near the top. Is it dumb? Cheesy? Goofy? May be. 🙍 and I don't care. It's fun and that's what I'm there for. Creative kills with a new concept and a few characters I actually give a rat's ass about during the final rush, a rarity in newer horror\slasher films. Shit, give me a special mode in the Friday 13th online game with space marines vs Jason. I'll buy that shit. 👍 Great video, Doc. Big love to you and Meredith. 💚💚💚 Beat Ghoulash for me, wouldja?
Apparently I'm the only one whose favorite is Part 7: The New Blood. It was the first time Jason had a worthy opponent who could actually fight back, and I love it for that.
Your not the only one who sees Friday the 13th Part 7 the New Blood ranking #1 on their list as there most favorite Friday the 13th film. Part 7 is my go to Friday the 13th movie I watch most. I felt in Part 7 Tina Shepard and Jason were evenly matched as well For both were great together going to toe against each other power on power for it was awesome to see Jason and Tina even matched in this showdown with each other for it was incredible. I loved the Telekenis Angle as well that someoneelse besides Jason had powers to go up against Jason the hockey masked slasher/killer who has powers as well. Jason was totally caught off guard the whole time by Tina Shepard the whole time where he was like what is happening for this final girl has powers too and so does Jason and I loved that Jason was not knowing what Tina Shepard with her telekenitc powers would throw at him next where each moment Tina used her powers it threw Jason off guard each and everytime not knowing what she would thrown at him next and I love the fact the fact that Tina was no ordinary final girl/suvivor seeing that she had powers of her own along side Jason. Tina Shepard was able to control the elements of nature with her mind wrapping trees limbs around Jason,Breaking a powerline dropping it into a huge rain puddle electrocuting Jason where he fell foward into the puddle and then she was able to drop a couch on top him,hit him in the face with a potted plant and then drop a roof on top him for and then Jason broke through the roof and came to the house where Tina and Nick were. TIna used her mind powers and Telekenesis to knock Jason through a stair well with a light fixture,She lit up the furnace in the basement on her own where she threw a fireball at Jason and set him on fire and was able to bring back her dad to help her as well and then watching the continuation fan film with Tina in it again and Tina and Jason facing off again where I'm hoping there's another installment and another battle between Jason and Tina. I love watching Tina and Jason face off against each other for both Tina and Jason brought it each and everytime they face off against each other going toe to toe with each other for its super exciting to watch each and every time they face off with each other with both them having powers where they are both even matched where I love Tina Shepard having powers and Jason as well for I felt Jason had Tina were evenly match power on power as well where Tina is bad*** and bad to the bone along side Jason where they both kept things super interesting and super exciting as well facing off against one another. I loved the Tina and Jason showdown as well for its always super exciting to watch Tina Shepard and Jason face off against each other for watching Tina and Jason face off of Jason not knowing what Tina would throw at him next with her telekentic powers was super exciting to me as well and still is. Anyway I always thought there should be more movies with Tina and Jason facing off with each other as well for I loved their showdown as well for it was super exciting to me and still is and this is why Friday the 13th part 7 is my go to Friday the 13th movies as well. Tina was the final girl with powers that evenly matched Jason's powers that kept things super exciting where Tina Shepard kept Jason on his toes the whole time and off guard the whole time not knowing what she would throw at Jason next with her powers where she was able to use her telekentic powers to demask Jason and broke open his mask and I love that she did. Friday the 13th Part 7 is my most favorite movies as well.
7 ripped off some stuff from Part 4. The opening flashbacks, girl getting thrown from the window, teenage party house next door to family, love triangle-jealous girl drama, lake kills, Jason in newspaper. Basically they had writers block.
I was happy to hear that you put The Final Chapter at number 2. I was a big fan of the franchise and this film just felt like they actually spent some time with character development and pacing to get from the beginning to the end. They didn't introduce crappy characters just so that we'd cheer when they were killed. The gore was some of the best of the series. Especially after the plastic head silliness of 3D. I was probably Tommy's age when I first saw it, so I was able to experience the film from his perspective and it worked on every front. Many years later when I revisited it, I saw a very different movie, but I could appreciate all the time and effort they went to making a good film. Not just a good Friday film or a good slasher film. Honestly, the only kill or character I didn't like was Teddy. But even his character had an arc. After The Final Chapter, I was largely checked out, watching the films just to see what creative ways Jason would kill. None since have captured the feeling of "these are real people" and this is a real situation. After seeing Manhattan in the theater, I swore to myself that I was done and would never watch another Jason movie. I would break that, but I definitely never paid to see another one.
Yeah I think this can be pretty easily explained why part 4 is head and shoulders above the previous entries. Sean S Cunningham did it for a paycheck, and while pretty competent, he made a really bland an uninspired film with a lot of unique elements such as female killer, gory kills, and an awesome score to the genre. But it was a job to him, and it shows in the final product. Part 2 is significantly better because it was made by a hungry director Steve Miner, who had to prove something with his directorial debut, but then had a sophomore slump with part 3. Joseph Zito, although he did see it as a job, he put a lot of effort and was fantastic at directing horror with addition to his excellent Cinematographer. The is also by far the best with the best actors and character writing in the entire franchise. It just had the best cast, crew and writing staff of the entire franchise, which made everything come together so well. It’s unfortunate Joe Zito would just make mediocre action films as he had the potential to be one of the best horror directors. He’s more talented than Steve Miner, but Steve stayed in horror and made a lot of successful films. And yeah part 6 is also great, but the character writing and actors aren’t nearly as good as they were in the final chapter. I think the main advantage that puts part 6 over the other entries is that there’s actually a primary storyline which drives the entire film, but I think that it has more weaknesses than part 4.
12. Jason Goes to Hell 11. Jason X 10. Jason Takes Manhattan 9. New Beginning 8. Freddy vs Jason 7. Part 1 6. Remake 5. Part 7 4. Part 3 3. Part 6 2. Part 2 1. Final Chapter
Thanks for the video, Doc. Does anyone know if Ghoulash is getting another video? I’ve watched his 4 videos a bunch of times. I’d love to see more but I understand working on multiple channels must be a taxing time crunch.

I don't find anything wrong with with having Jason X as a favorite Friday the 13th film. But I do agree that Jason Goes to Hell is the worst out of the whole franchise! But my favorite Friday the 13th movie is the original (1980).
DUDE!! My top two Friday the 13th movies are the same as yours!! That’s awesome! You rock, Doc! Part 6 has a few nods to the old Frankenstein films, like the way Jason is brought back to life and a shop named after Boris Karloff. The director of the movie said that if you watched it with the color off, it looks great in black and white. I believe it was intentional.

In defense of Jason takes Manhattan; Even though it had the biggest budget of any Friday the 13th movie until then, they coud only afford to shoot 2 days in New York City. The movie was originally supposed to feature a lot more scene, like Jason at Madison Square Garden and on the Brooklyn Bridge, but since New York City has to be one of the most expensive places in the world to film, even back in the 80s, they could only film 2 days there and shot the rest of the movie in Vancouver.
Very cool to see where you placed part 5. When I was younger I thought the movie just sucked because it wasn't Jason. But as I grew older I appreciated how they wanted to go in a different direction same as Halloween 3. And the son being butchered out of nowhere by the psycho with the axe is horrible, ridiculous, and disgusting all at once
Whenever I'm feeling blue I think of your "did that guy just fucking teleport?" line from your Jason Takes Manhattan review. Paramount really needs to let horror RUclipsrs MST3000 a few of their F13th films. Free publicity can't hurt, and lets face it I don't think anyone is worried about ruining the good reputation of JGTH or Jason Takes Manhattan.

Happy Friday the 13th. I agree with your idea of the Jason vs Freddy idea. I'd love to see more of a team up as well and then eventually adding the more killers as it goes on. Maybe far fetched but I'd love to see Leprechaun working alongside some.
I think the only thing preventing them from teaming up is their reason for being evil, Jason is someone that does this to avenge his mother and then freddy, I don't really know his reason but he I doubt he's doing for anything as good as avenging a dead family member
I remember seeing near all Friday the 13th on TV back in the day. Funny, the only movie they didn't put on was the very first one. And also my favorites aré part 4 and 6, Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X.
It's been a while but ur talking about about the syfy horror marathon ain't u every year where I I live they showed all of them but I never watched the first 1 often the 2 rime watching it it was just a boring movie
This is a really good ranking. I like how you explained the reasons why you liked and didn't like elements of each, no matter how other people view them. I personally rank Freddy vs Jason as one of my favorites because of how much fun it was and did a good service for both series. The mediocre fight between the two didnt bother me because I just can't imagine a fight between them being that impressive anyways.
12. Jason x 11. Freddy vs jason 10. Reboot 9. Jason 5 8. Jason goes to hell 7. Original 6. Part 2 5. Part 6 4. Part 7 3. Manhatten 2. Part 3 1. Part 4 The real best Friday the 13th flawless list
It's a toss up between parts 2 and 4 for my top spot. Freddy V Jason is probably third then part 6. The rest I can take or leave though I do find a lot of Jason Goes To Hell pretty fun. It's nice seeing more of the town and the FBI getting involved in hunting down this serial killer.
Nice video. I agree with some of that, although I put Jason X much higher personally. For a lot of the same reasons you put Part 6 at #1. Have you seen any of the Hor-Riff-ic Production riffs? They have done 1 through 5 so far and are very funny.
I’m a day late but here’s my rankings from best to worst 1. Jason takes Manhattan 2. The New Blood 3. Jason lives 4. Jason goes to Hell 5. The Final chapter 6. The New Beginning 7. Part 3 8. Freddy vs Jason 9. Part 2 10. Jason x 11. Friday the 13th (2009) 12. Friday the 13th (1980)
I would never agree the reboot was just fine, what it was Friday the 13th parts 1-4 done in a really, really stupid way. P: "Let's spend like a minute on the first movie, a half hour on the second and then combine the third and fourth. That way we can skip the whole 'character' thing by adding a new cast each time." W: "What about build up and lore? What about suspense and horror?" P: "What about your face and my ass? Producer Michael Bay knows what he likes.
Have you seen most of these movies? Because part 4 is the only one with suspense and horror. Not to mention that there’s only two casts of characters. The characters in the other films aren’t that much better, again with the exception of part 4. I think as far as combining different aspects of these movies, the remake did an excellent job
Great list. I guessed most of them as the ranking progressed. I’d have The Final Chapter over Jason Lives personally but it’s all subjective at the end of the day. Love your videos my man.
I love your ranking & almost agree completely with it. Personally Part 7 is one of my favorites & I would have it ranked #3, behind 6 & 4. Everything else would be in the same order, though!
My ranking: 1. Jason Lives 2.A new beginning 3. Part 3 4. Freddy vs Jason 5. Jason Takes Manhattan 6. The new blood 7.part 1 8.The final chapter 9. Jason X 10. Part 2 11. 2009 reboot 12. Jason goes to Hell
So while I disagree about where you placed some of the New Line entries, I fully understand your reasons. The standout opinion here was how highly you placed Part 5 and I am thankful for everyone who sees the fun in that movie like I do. Thanks for cramming this into your schedule!
Everyone has gone mad on here. The first one is a classic. One of the most iconic horrors ever. For the life of my I just cannot understand how anyone can think part 5 and 7 especially are better. Part 7 better than the original? Hahahahaha. No. That’s just objectively wrong. Up until then I was agreeing with the ranking The best 4 are the first 4 then part 6 for me.
Just because it’s iconic doesn’t mean it’s better. Also part 7 is also one of the most iconic entries. Also saying the garbage part 3 is better than 6 is a joke
@@JCStorm76 before I’ve ever seen a Friday the 13th movie, I recognized scenes part 7. Never saw anything from part 1. Iconic is what sticks in people’s minds.
I've been watching these movies since I was around 6 years old when these movies came out... I used to have to sneak watch at first because of being so young, I saw The original movie and was hooked. Saw Ft13th Part 2 shortly after and was hooked x2, Part 3 was straight up fun slasher 80's, Jason got a major upgrade, his signature hockey mask, he grew a few inches and was awesome. The Final Chapter was Peak for me. Jason looked a bit more grungy acquired some gnarly black long fingernails and was still just a Badass unstoppable maniac. After that the series definitely took a turn... lol Part 5 was weird. Kinda fun but yeah like I said took a turn. Part 6 enter Zombie Jason 🙄🤣 ok yeah he was even more unstoppable but now that also made him more cartoonish to me. Wasn't a fan of that. Anyway yeah became a cash cow franchise and quality and appeal went way down for me ever since. Best part of the 2009 remake was Derek Mears, he was Badass, plus he grew up in my hometown & went to my High school. Other than that blah. So imho Parts 2 through the Final Chapter are the best easily. Not necessarily in that order but nevertheless the best movies. Good Day Sir.
I think Manhattan should’ve been last but otherwise feels like the best list. I go back and forth on the top 2 and I love part 5, I’m so glad how high it was and you’re so spot on for why it’s great.
My ranking Freddy VS Jason Friday the 13th part 4: The Final Chapter Friday the 13th part 2 Friday the 13th part 3 Friday the 13th (2009) Friday the 13th (1980) Jason Lives Friday the 13th part 7: New Blood Jason X Jason Goes to Hell Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Goes to Manhattan I haven't seen Friday 13th Part 5: New Beginning Jason X and Jason Goes to Hell are actually 2 of my favorite guilty pleasures.
Least favorite to favorite: X, 1, 2, 9, 7, 4, 3, 6, 5, 8. No remakes and no comic book crossover bullshit for me. Space is dead last where it should be.
Whoa my gosh, that is so totally awesome... Part 6. Jason Lives is my all time most favorite movie of the franchise. I like the opening, overall story, music and definitely the Beautiful Girls.
Happy Friday the 13th everyone!
Thank you for this video
Happy Friday to you too
Happy Friday Doc.
Who said this day brought about dread 😏
Happy Friday The 13 Doc and chat!!
Super glad Part V is so high on your list, that one has slowly become one of my favourites in the franchise :)
The very first Friday the 13th I ever saw, it's a hidden gem. It has an extra sleaze factor as well!
We actually slept in the same cabin that was turned into the bathroom in the film (the same cabin with the showers and the famous axe scene)...it was kind of hard to sleep.
great kills and those damn enchiladas!
Part 5 has the best characters I think. They at least had some memorable aspect to them instead of being cookie cutter teenagers to be sliced up.
In my opinion the Friday The 13th remake is one of the better remakes. I like how they turned Jason into a survivalist type who can do things like use a bow and set traps. It's like if Rambo was a slasher killer.
I agree. I liked how they showed a lot of his methods.
Mostly cause it’s just like every other Friday the 13th
But Jason was the only good part of the film. Everything was dull and unmemorable
@@ReservoirPunk True, but imo Jason was good enough to make it worthwhile.
@@tylertheguy3160 Fair enough, bud. Each to their own. It's certainly better than some of those later sequels, that's for sure.
Don't forget Part 6: Jason lives has "The man behind the mask" aka the best horror movie based song in the history of cinema
Are You Ready For Freddy is a pretty epic horror movie based song too. I love The man behind the mask. Alice Cooper rules.
@@snakeplissken6321 I was not aware of that
@@thedarkmasterthedarkmaster Definitely check it out. Preferably the music video. You just can't go wrong with rapping Freddy Kruger.
@@snakeplissken6321 oh yeah is that the freddy Krueger parody album
The man behind the mask to me works better as an actual song
@@thedarkmasterthedarkmaster No it's actually not on the Freddy album. Which is quite strange. It's a Fatboys song with Freddy on it.
The man behind the mask is definitely a better song though. I also really like Prince of Darkness from Alice Cooper. It's a great song for a great movie. His cameo in John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness is fantastic with the bicycle kill to.
I personally like Part 4: The Final Chapter and Part V: A New Beginning the best
Can't even agree more
I agree, parts 3 and 6 are my favorites. Part 2 and 4 come closely behind.
Happy Friday the 13th!! Always fun to see how fans have the series ranked. For me it goes:
12. Jason X
11. Jason Takes Manhattan
10. Jason Goes to Hell
9. Freddy vs Jason
8. Remake
7. Original
6. The New Blood
5. A New Beginning
4. Part 3
3. Part 2
2. The Final Chapter
1. Jason Lives
Pretty similar to mines except for #3 - 6
Jason goes to hell and Takes Manhattan is worst then X and part five might be better then 2 and 3
Other than number 1 which is correct....... My God that list is so wrong to me.. putting 8 and X below hell. That's insanity. 2 above 3 is just wrong. Original above remake is terrible. Freddy vs Jason being that low .... No
@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject Cool opinion man 👍
@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject
#1 is incorrect
Happy Friday the 13th. The best franchises establish a lore, and build
upon it while changing little to nothing, Friday is the perfect franchise to use as an example, as you get both sides of the coin. Thanks Cyd.
Jason X is a guilty pleasure for me and I'll watch Friday the 13th Jason Takes Manhattan because it has Kelly Hu in it.
That's me as well. I like it better than Jason takes Manhattan
X is easily my favorite. If you’re gonna just rehash the same premise every film, might as well set it in a unique location.
Whats wrong with Jason takes Manhattan? 🤷🏻
Yeah, but her death was BORING. Like, really? Out of all the ways you could kill a character you pick strangulation?
X is good and so was Manhattan. Those are high on my list. Shame most fans prefer the boring original and early films. Other than 3, which was great
Part 2 is the best.
Result.....
Part 2 is hands down the best film in the series although not the best "Jason".
Personally (equally valid to anyone else) they are both equal. The second captures the campiness though part 4 is the most frightening as a horror movie
Very nicely put!
How can you talk about Jason X without mentioning the VR camp scene? That is genuinely one of the funniest moments in the entire franchise!
Watching part 4 right now, definitely my fav. The remake's idea is really great imo but the execution is very 2000's in the worst way
Part four has the best kills
Explain further the execution is very 2000s in the worst way?
@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD It sure does.
Why are you on youtube in the middle of a movie???

part 2 is number 1 for me that wheel chair down the rainy stairs always creeped me out

I'm sure most fans agreed
Part 6 I agree with! Love the gothic 60's Hammer Studio atmosphere. Meta way before Scream 1996 perfected it.

Jason didn't die in Part 3.
Jason lives is my personal favorite of the franchise, as it was the first of the squeals I saw in full thanks to AMC airing it during Monster/Fear Fest, plus who can forget He's back, the man behind the mask by Alice Cooper.
good video doctor wolfula, always loved your videos for years, and I know I will love this one.

I like your rankings and it matches closely to mine. I really can’t choose between 4-7, they all have a lot that I love. I really like part 7 just a bit more due to how Jason looks.
facts!!!!💯🔪🤙🏼

Great way to celebrate Jason’s favorite day. Wonder if poor Ghoulash was left out as a sacrifice/milk and cookie present for the hockey-masked slasher
Just what the Doctor ordered!
7 is where the series really turned to shit
7 ripped off some stuff from Part 4. The opening flashbacks, girl getting thrown from the window, teenage party house next door to family, love triangle-jealous girl drama, lake kills, Jason in newspaper. Basically they had writers block.
I've seen all of them, no comparison
Every final girl fought like hell against Jason what r u talking about
I was happy to hear that you put The Final Chapter at number 2.

Does anyone know if Ghoulash is getting another video?
I’ve watched his 4 videos a bunch of times. I’d love to see more but I understand working on multiple channels must be a taxing time crunch.
i have only seen the first 7 so far. i have seen most of the eighth one.

Great series and looking forward to the rest! After watching them all and rewatching these ones, I know that my ranking will change. Part V: A New Beginning is SO UNDERRATED! Even though it is at number 5, it does not mean that I hate it. I also LOVE JASON TAKES MANHATTAN!
My rankings
1. Jason X ( I unapologetically love this film for how stupid it is)
2. Jason Lives

12. Jason Goes To Hell
It was definitely intentional the director even said it was

In defense of Jason takes Manhattan;
Even though it had the biggest budget of any Friday the 13th movie until then, they coud only afford to shoot 2 days in New York City.
Just because the movie didn't have Jason in it didn't mean it sucks I knew that sense I was a kid
Actually Halloween was meant to be anthology, Halloween part 3 isn't related to Michael Myers in any way.
@@deathrealm2211 If I'm commenting on a Dr. Wolfula vid, pretty safe to assume I've known that lore for Halloween for years
@@furrybogard9724 ah sorry bout that then, I've only recently found this channel lol
F13th 5 is better than F13th 7-10
Whenever I'm feeling blue I think of your "did that guy just fucking teleport?" line from your Jason Takes Manhattan review. Paramount really needs to let horror RUclipsrs MST3000 a few of their F13th films. Free publicity can't hurt, and lets face it I don't think anyone is worried about ruining the good reputation of JGTH or Jason Takes Manhattan.
Huh is the a re-ranking? Thought u already did this video. Either way I feel blessed for the content 🙏, keep it up doc ❤

Honestly everytime it's Friday the 13th,I always think of good old Jason
These rankings are nearly spot on. Lazily, I can swap 2 with 7 and bump X up a few spots.
Happy Friday the 13th.
I agree with your idea of the Jason vs Freddy idea.
I'd love to see more of a team up as well and then eventually adding the more killers as it goes on. Maybe far fetched but I'd love to see Leprechaun working alongside some.
Maybe if you have to do a slasher cinematic universe that would be the way to go make them sorta a sinister six crossed with the avengers team
Great ranking. 6, 2 and 4 are my favorites as well. But Jason X is the guiltiest pleasure of them all
12. Jason x
11. Freddy vs jason
10. Reboot
9. Jason 5
8. Jason goes to hell

6. Part 2
5. Part 6
4. Part 7
3. Manhatten
2. Part 3
1. Part 4
The real best Friday the 13th flawless list
It's a toss up between parts 2 and 4 for my top spot. Freddy V Jason is probably third then part 6. The rest I can take or leave though I do find a lot of Jason Goes To Hell pretty fun. It's nice seeing more of the town and the FBI getting involved in hunting down this serial killer.
Why did he need to shave that guy?......this had me rolling ,great vid
I can never have an unlucky day when you upload a video, Doc.
Problem with that is legel reasons why they couldn't use other horror characters in Freddy vs Jason
Nice video. I agree with some of that, although I put Jason X much higher personally. For a lot of the same reasons you put Part 6 at #1.
Have you seen any of the Hor-Riff-ic Production riffs? They have done 1 through 5 so far and are very funny.
Final Chapter and Part 2 are the best in my opinion. Likeable characters and a blood thirsty Jason.
Those are my two favorite entries as well! I rank them from top to bottom: 2, 4, 1, 3, 6, 7, 5, 8, 2009, FvJ, JGTH, X.
A day with new Doctor Wolfula content is a good day
Happy Friday The 13th, Doc! And thanks for the video to celebrate our favorite hockey mask killer lol
I’m a day late but here’s my rankings from best to worst
1. Jason takes Manhattan
2. The New Blood
3. Jason lives
4. Jason goes to Hell
5. The Final chapter
6. The New Beginning
7. Part 3
8. Freddy vs Jason
9. Part 2
10. Jason x
11. Friday the 13th (2009)
12. Friday the 13th (1980)
I would never agree the reboot was just fine, what it was Friday the 13th parts 1-4 done in a really, really stupid way.
P: "Let's spend like a minute on the first movie, a half hour on the second and then combine the third and fourth. That way we can skip the whole 'character' thing by adding a new cast each time."
W: "What about build up and lore? What about suspense and horror?"
P: "What about your face and my ass? Producer Michael Bay knows what he likes.
Haaaaa!!! Love this - TRUTH!
Yeah, the reboot is at the bottom of my list for this exact reason.
My ranking:
1. Jason Lives
2.A new beginning
3. Part 3
4. Freddy vs Jason
5. Jason Takes Manhattan
6. The new blood
7.part 1
8.The final chapter
9. Jason X
10. Part 2
11. 2009 reboot
12. Jason goes to Hell
My Top 5 would HAVE to be...
-
1. "The New Blood"
2. "Jason Lives"
3. "The Final Chapter"
4. "3D"
5. "Part II"
+
6. "Friday The 13th" (1980)
Up until then I was agreeing with the ranking
The best 4 are the first 4 then part 6 for me.
I honestly liked part 7, tho I can see why many people don't
@@deathrealm2211 It’s ok. But better than the first one? Give me a break!
Just because it’s iconic doesn’t mean it’s better. Also part 7 is also one of the most iconic entries. Also saying the garbage part 3 is better than 6 is a joke
@@thomasffrench3639 Part 7 Iconic lol
@@JCStorm76 before I’ve ever seen a Friday the 13th movie, I recognized scenes part 7. Never saw anything from part 1. Iconic is what sticks in people’s minds.
Great list Doc......my personal favorite was Part 2. Happy Friday the 13th!!!!!
My ranking
Freddy VS Jason
Friday the 13th part 4: The Final Chapter
Friday the 13th part 2
Friday the 13th part 3
Friday the 13th (2009)
Friday the 13th (1980)
Jason Lives
Friday the 13th part 7: New Blood
Jason X
Jason Goes to Hell
Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Goes to Manhattan
I haven't seen Friday 13th Part 5: New Beginning
Jason X and Jason Goes to Hell are actually 2 of my favorite guilty pleasures.
Jason goes to hell was my first Friday movie as a kid. Looking back I wish I didn't start with this movie
Least favorite to favorite:
X, 1, 2, 9, 7, 4, 3, 6, 5, 8. No remakes and no comic book crossover bullshit for me. Space is dead last where it should be.
Yes Friday the 13th Part 6 is popcorn entertainment and it's not ashamed of that.
Part 6 was the turning point. It was camp killer to a ghostly Frankenstein.
Whoa my gosh, that is so totally awesome... Part 6. Jason Lives is my all time most favorite movie of the franchise. I like the opening, overall story, music and definitely the Beautiful Girls.
