    Ben Keith (not Dugmore) played pedal steel on "Old Man" (and on "Heart Of Gold").

    • @secoulte
      @secoulte 3 года назад +7

      No that’s Ben Keith playing pedal steel on most of Harvest. However - Jerry Garcia does play pedal steel on CSNY’s Teach Your Children. That is 100% true, it’s even in the liner notes in Déjà Vu along with a picture.

      @@ziapsp4167 Jerry was a natural, but he once said he'd need to live another lifetime to master the pedal steel. The legend is that he laid down the part on Teach Your Children in one take and he didn't even know Nash was recording him. Sounds pretty incredible to me.

    My college roommate had a 5 string banjo but didn't know how to play it. Without his knowledge, I restrung the banjo like a guitar. Then when he came back I picked it up and started playing. He was amazed. Those things are loud!
