Becky Conway - what an amazing teacher. All the staff at this school seem so brilliant and keen for their students to do well. Wish I had teachers like this at my school
Jeez, when I left Year 11, we got signatures from my head teacher. That's it, no sincere hugs or little rewards/certificates or a wonderful laugh with everyone. We meant nothing to that school, they just wanted to look good
@@or5558 I don't, I grew up in care and went to a crap school. I would have loved a mum who loved me and teachers who cared. He didn't know how good he had it and made his own choices.
Alaurah Willow did I ask your opinion 😂😂. Nah I’m joking I see what you mean but I also get how anger can control your life and arguments can seriously affect how you see everything and how it can effect you
O R No need to be a dick. And he is the only one responsible for his anger. Even if he was treated like dirt and someone caused him to feel angry it is his choice to behave the way he did.
I went to an all girl's school. Didn't get a boyfriend until I was 19. I'm now married to him! Aged 26. He's my first but he played the field before getting me
I relate to both Vinnie and Ryan I have had a horrible childhood like vinnie, however I’ve never been in care. My dad was physically abusive to me, my mum and my siblings, my parents divorced, I was bullied. So I can empathise with vinnie, I feel rlly bad for him especially since now he’s in prison. I can relate to his pain. I can also relate to Ryan, I have high functioning autism which is similar to Aspergers, I am quite different from most ppl, and I, gonna be honest because people see my difference as a bad thing so I’m very negative towards myself. I’m really socially awkward because sometimes idk what to say or what to do in social situations. I get panic attacks because I overthink about what ppl think about me especially my friends because ik I’m werid and different and hurts so much because recently I lost a lot of friends for no reason, like I try so much for ppl and I’m so kind and nice yet this keeps happening maybe it’s something to do with my personality. Maybe just me existing is the problem who knows. But I’m gonna stop before I get into a suicidal spiral. Yeah ugh I guess I can relate to them, nothing else to say.
Remember dude life is a gift so you should treasure it & don't let people bother you they are scum if they think that's ok & also reminder to us all is to find true friends who are cool with you for who you are. Everyone makes mistakes but at least we can learn from them & make sure not to repeat to them so yeah just some thoughts which is a reminder to us all on how to deal with these issues with life.
I think if he wants to his detention at lunch that’s fine but he should have more detentions if he does it at lunch rather than if he does it after school then he gets out sooner
i hear you but at the same time if he has responsibilities he has to make sure he can attend them, its right for the teachers not to bend to his will because its a life lesson.
my school used to do break/lunch time detentions which i thought was quite good (depended on the severity of what you did though). so if you were late or something you'd have a detention during first break, if you missed that it was lunch, and if you missed that it was after school
*I feel like this whole series has literally been focusing on the bad kids, like damn', let the good kids have a chance in the spotlight. They've mainly been focusing on Vinnie too much as well which is a waste seeing as he's banged up for 6 and a half years for drugs.*
That was a serious meeting. He probably had a lot of pressure to try to help Vinni pass. They just lightened his course load to maths, English, ICT, and BTEC sports. I don’t think it was Mrs. Byrd he was upset with, I think it was the fact that with Vinni’s issues that he needed Vinni to pass his English GCSE and he was not his usual joking self during staff meetings. What had me more confused is why they did not offer the same support for his maths GCSE unless they did not show it here. Ultimately this did not work, although he got a C in English, he messed up the rest of the year and did not do as great as he should have. He may have gotten the results for a trade, but I am sure we all know what he has done with his life by now. YourHarlow.com has the news if you did not hear. Mr Drew seems like he is more realistic about situations like this than Mr Goddard especially in Vinni’s case. Mr Drew is just not happy about the situation.
Not anymore, used to be the case you could just retake and retake but the government have changed GCSEs to make them more rigorous. This is an old documentary
*If people actually try to write something suitable that relates to that subject, they will at least achieve something, but if they're just gonna refuse to do that exam then they will fail, but I see where you're coming from.*
My heart really goes out to Vinni
now he's in prison

it was the same for us ,
---my school
It's always like that with very tough schools. They nurture their students and gain an attachment
I wish Vinnie was allowed to go in the end, it looked like he dressed decent incase he was allowed😭
‘I’ll happily achieve nothing’ a couple of years later, achieving 6.5 years in prison for supplying drugs at the age of 23
Jessica Burrell yep 😂
I don’t know why but I feel bad for him and like it’s a shame

2 years after this was aired, Vinnie became wanted by the Essex police and went on the run.
Oh my god are you serious??
Wow, it's so sad because one day he'll feel all the regret he's been masking, and it will be too late.
Are you just fucking around or did you really read that somewhere?
GhastlyCretin85 I googled it, it's true
Jack Callister I know, he kinda ruined his life and it started at that school. It’s just sad
Isolation for a hairstyle baffles me that's just as bad as getting put in prison in North Korea over a hairstyle
leon zandbergen hmmm prison vs isolation... don’t quite tally up
Kaptain Krissy kinda do the hints in ISOLATION n you sit in a box for 6-7 hours doing nout
I agree but I think at the school it's more about teaching them discipline and telling them they can't do whatever they want.
Isolation and prison.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
"I'll quite happily achieve nothing"
Wow he reached his goal then.
pam Thompson-Clarke-Reynolds-Bowers-Burton I love that

that's the point, it's after school he wants to leave after a long day @ school , giving him lunchtime detention would be letting him off easy

it seems to me that no matter how little effort is made and no matter how thick you are, everyone passes Gcses.
not really. a lot of the students weren't thick - they were just lazy and didn't buckle down until the end.
