As a runner who is training for a marathon, these foam rollers ruclips.net/user/postUgkx9XSsjzA4f84VmhBCHlyhec7XILIxennL are really good for sore and tight muscles. This one is a good size (mine is the purple, 36 inches) not too big but big enough to work and roll both my legs at the same time - I took a photo holding the roller next to me just to provide a better representation of its size. I noticed some reviewers who complained that this is, “just a foam noodle”… and yes, that’s exactly what it is. It’s a high density foam roller. It is absolutely NOT the same consistency/strength/durability/ or texture as a ‘pool noodle’ thought and I disagree entirely with those that say so. As a former collegiate athlete and marathon runner, I’m comfortably giving this roller 5 stars. It’s lightweight and durable and does just what I need it to do at a budget-friendly price. Overall, I have no complaints and am happy with it!
Love to hear that!

I used a standard roller, and it felt so good! I'm going to look into the Intelliroll. What are your thoughts on rolling the whole back? I've heard mixed thoughts, so I've only ever done upper back.
Upper back is GREAT. Especially with the IntelliRoll because it has the space for the spine. The lower back must be used different and not be rolled on directly. I will show a technique with the IntelliRoll soon
I had to watch multiple times. I was distracted lol
Haha glad you got through it!
@@docjenfit I finally did you kinda took my breath away though. You’re an extremely beautiful woman
Woah my hip flexors really stretched!
Amazing!
Respected 👏 Dr is SI Joint pain due to an Anterior Pelvic Tilt?
I have one sided SI Joint pain 😪
I wouldn't say that is the overall cause. SI joint pain is generally a hypersensitivity issue. Here's a video we have on SI pain: ruclips.net/video/l6AtOLlqO_k/видео.html
How many times per day?
It depends on how much time you have! You could do morning and night for 5-10 minutes a day!
I have a question. Was this a sample of using the roller or is this how long you should use it?
We use the Intelliroll! You can get a discount on them with code DOCJEN. You can even make a huge difference with 10-15 minutes a day! intelliroll.myshopify.com/?rfsn=629552.d5440
How can you tell if pain is from si joint or surrounding structured?
It could be from either. This won't necessarily address the cause, but can decrease symptoms you may be feeling on the joint or around the area :)
I have a pain in the left side of my power back and goes down the leg to my feet. It hurts like death especially after sitting for a long time. And it doesn't let sleep. Now I can't even reach my knee. So please can you recommend me any exercise because desperate of search.
Thanks in advance 😄
I'm so very sorry to hear. I really recommend going to see an MD in person and then going to see a physical therapist in person for proper care. I cannot diagnose nor prescribe treatment through a comment!
@@docjenfit you are right. Thank you. It's just doctors are busy with with the epidemic even if I want to go to the doctor I have to take one of my parents because I am a minor and their old so it might be more dangerous for them. But it's Ok. Thanks again 😋
Doc Jen, I get a lot of pain in the sacrum for sijoint, can I roll the whole sacrum with a gentle back and forward movement?
You can but I would also recommend focusing a lot on the breath, core, and hip mobility and strength! That will ultimately help more than just rolling something out!
I feel abdominal discomfort while doing this. Is that ok?
That's why I like bending the knee to the chest because it can help with potential discomfort. Is it something that goes away when you are done rolling? If it does, this should be fine. If it sticks around for more than 24-48 hours, maybe try adjusting how you are doing the exercise.
@@docjenfit Thanks for responding. After I stretch & roll, I notice that my Back and abdomen feel excellent. I'm also considering adjusting; thanks so much for your help.
Will this still be effective with a standard roller?
You'll have to try and see how it feels for your own body. Personally, I think it can increase unnecessary pressure at various parts of the body, but if it feels okay, go for it :)
DocJenFit thank you! I will try for sure. My yoga studio does a pretty thorough fascial release class but it does not address SI or psoas. I had a big injury and lots of PT so know these are was all too well : )
This lady is so cute.
Great!
