The positive affirmative message in this song was a very welcome reprieve from the usual radio pop of that time. A timeless song. Great choice thanks for the great reaction.
now I want to listen to Howard Jones...
This album is the perfect blend of artistic quality and catchy pop songs.
GREAT song! His voice was incredible. Another great loss to music. 💔
Guitar yes but there's that piano! And his mesmerizing vocals. A fantastic song 👍
My favorite Talk Talk song. A positive, yet haunting vibe to it. The one-finger piano drive, with the unique guitar mesh together perfectly. The vocal just completed it all. Great song!
One of the best songs from the '80's. The visuals in the official video are haunting.
Yes, I was hoping his reaction might feature the video - magical. 🖤
Sometimes the seemingly simplest of lyrics are the most profound, cutting straight through to the basic tenets of our everyday existence.
Love the drummer on this. He is really giving it all, and it shows in the video.
Still gives me chills 40 years later. So haunting, so intense. (I always heard an undertone of sorrow in this.) Yes, this almost epitomizes 80s music. Thanks, man. Way cool.
Mark Hollis was a genius - and gone far too soon, sadly. 🤍
Spectacular album, Mark Hollis was a true musical genius - listen to the following two Talk Talk albums and the later Mark Hollis solo album, all groundbreaking, and brilliant. Big influences on the likes of Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), and Radiohead.
Love this song. It's always been one of my 'go to' self therapy tunes.
' everything's alright...' love it.
“That’s beautiful.” Agree 💯
Lee's drumming on this is just stellar. Really have to watch the video to really appreciate it.
Love, love, love this song, and have since it’s release.
If you want to see a phenomenal LIVE performance, do Talk Talk -Its My Life Live at Montreux Jazz 1986
Fantastic song by a fantastic band. Besides Mark’s lovely vocals that piano line has always stood out to me. Glad to see you carrying on with this album. The band just got better and better from here.
This is one of my favorite groups. Love all their songs.
Love this song it’s a timeless classic, I had this album on cassette back in the day, I must check it out again
Ahh, the 80's.........so many great memories! Loved this band!
I like your evaluation. What a great song. I could groove to this all day! Definitely a positive song.
Agree with everyone else here. This was THE great song from 1986 - at least on alternative radio. Look for YT videos of Mark Hollis playing the song live at the piano - it's mesmerizing.
My favorite band of 80s❤
LOVE this band!
One of my favorites from Mark Hollis and Talk Talk.... Always in my playlist!! Love watching your reactions!! Thanks
its just a perfect album love Talk Talk
Check out the music video to this. It compliments it nicely. Oh, and when you get to Living in Another World, you’ve GOT to watch that video/ it’s awesome! Nice work Daniel- this is easily one of the Top 3 albums of the Eighties.Just a shame so few people know it.
A great track. Positive message and some very catchy lines to be found in the various instrument parts.
I particularly like the brief piano solo towards the end. It adds a little off-balance something-or-other that fits perfectly at that point.
Profound simple lyrics. ❤❤👍🏻
Thanks so much Daniel! I apologise if my badgering of you for more Talk Talk began to grate somewhat, but i was desperate for you to return to this album! Now that you have, and at the right song, i can only thank you again. 👌
No problem, I actually recorded this a couple days ago and just had other stuff scheduled to go up first. Appreciate you, love this group:)
@@DiconDissectionalReactions The fact that you love my favourite band does wonders for me. I'll leave you to it from now on, my friend! 😉
Life is always Changing and you as a young man is understanding that. My mother also told me that you learn everyday of your life it could be big or small but there is always new things. The thing I can say is there is always something new. And that's so true that song
Pure Quality right there.
excellent!
Pithy but precise!
Valeu gatissimo 😂😂❤
Dethstroke is on fire this week.
Awesome album...only bettered by the follow -up, Spirit Of Eden
I've always loved this song, but if I'm honest it's always sounded *very* reminiscent of _Songs from the Big Chair_ era Tears For Fears. Like a mix of "Shout" (for intensity and rhythm) and "Head Over Heels" (for beauty).
it's good for dancing . it's got a good beat ... i give it a 78
Apparently I'm watching these in the wrong order. Can't fully appreciate this as I'm still in a Tom Waits haze. Great sound though, nice mix.
Saw some of your videos, excellent work!
Please watch the live performance of Its My Life at Montreux, 1986
Circumstances that were beyond your control: _those_ are the ones that will have had the final say about what was and what was not possible for you. You won't want to believe that though.
All good but i m sure this version is different, the voice have a exaggerated effect, the beautiful of this song is the voice extremely clean of Mark. Please hear the original version the voice sounds beautiful.
Greetings
Please go backward before going forward with Talk Talk. The It’s My Life album is far too good to miss.
Maybe so, but 'Spirit Of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock' are in a different league entirely!
