Great video, Patrick. I'm bookmarking it for when I get mine. Sweet dubs you just made my life so much easier awesome tutorial ….. Did you end up using the soundbar or Z313 for audio… Id like to see where you mounted the audio and how accessible it is …
Nice video Dubs. I didn't get this but you certainly had some very thorough instructions for anyone who did. If Ridge Racer goes down in price again I'll be mighty tempted, although I think I'd rather have the PC I use for my Legends pinball perform double duty since it's more powerful than an Android box. Regardless, this looks pretty awesome!
Yes sir! When I placed my preorder, I selected the amp to get the stock speakers to work with this mod. Had the BuyStuffArcades staff assist me to ensure I had what I was looking for and needed. They’re awesome!
Super cool mod. Kinda wish I had one of these. Side note, have you seen Awesome Sauce's new Atgames download with PS1 and Dreamcast games? Would love to see you cover it if you find time.
I'm considering doing this to my outrun but only if the original games that were included run as good or better from the android box. I'm also curious if the turbo button will be mapped on the outrun version. Thank you again for another great video.
Fantastic, that looks like a fun wee mod. If I had one of those cabs that would be a winner. You certainly made the whole process seem very accessible. Aww Mario Kart on a home arcade, whats not to love?
Def well worth purchasing if you haven't modded a 1up driving cabinet yet or you just want all the kit provided. I like the fact it saves time using a PC as it's plug n play and less energy to run etc. That said as you still need to do a little bit of modding you might as well put a pc in as it takes it to the next level and can put a ton more racing games on. The android device seems similar to a pi4 where I can see performance issues on psp with outrun 2006. The PC would upscale that easily plus there all the sega model 2 model 3 games and tecknoparrot.
Nice tutorial 👌! I ordered mine for both cabinets after I seen your community post about these. I'll definitely be watching this video again when they arrive. Thanks, PDUBS 👊
@WOLF yup I know. I bought one for ridge racer n one of outrun. I got it for the multi player. It just turned those cabs from something I dont touch to something I'll probably touch once in a blue lol
@@CTJason I'll be getting it later. At 1st I saw the $24 but realized that wasn't for the whole kit. Great video! Would love to know in your review what games, if any, support rumble and if all of the stock games are included in the collection as well as what versions they are.
Which version of the buy stuff mod do you recommend for multiplayer network play? Do you need buy “Player 2” kits ? Can you play a Ridge Racer can vs Outrun ca? Thanks
how do I update the encoder board and the new firmware that I ordered from buy stuff I can't seem to find any videos showing this I received the new updates I purchased for ridge racer mod in Jan
AWESOME vid, Pdubs. I've read elsewhere that the majority of the games are console ports... is that true? And most importantly, does it still have the Ridge Racer Series if you want to play the "stock" games?
The stock Ridge Racer games will play best on the original PCB or a PC build - the arcade versions do not run well on our Gaming Box. We have 6 Ridge Racer titles in all included. OutRun games do run very well on our box and are all included plus more.
I have mentioned to the company before and they mentioned once they’re done with racing games, they will shift to light gun games. Cannot wait for that!
got my kit today and got it going thanks to this video the only thing is the the gas to go is somehow the break pedal did I wire thus wrong it was only one pedal wire right. Aby help would be appreciated
Is there anything else the first time through? I followed along I think pretty well. Fired it up and got the Emulac screen all the way to the game screen with Multiplayer showing on the wheel. Monitor is great, sound (with power amp) is great. Everything looked fantastic, but then turning the wheel did nothing. hitting the buttons did nothing. Shift did nothing. The only control working is the on/off switch. I saw that it is supposed to boot in "Kiosk Mode" and hitting Start gives you a prompt to enter a code, but Start does nothing. Am I missing one final step?
Yeah you'll want to message the Buy Stuff guys and they'll get you sorted. No clue what happened here, something is wrong with your encoder board or wiring, etc
Yep. Just did. It's late tonight so I'm going to leave it be. I'm wondering if I didn't plug one of the little wire harnesses completely and it's locking up the controls. I'll check that out tomorrow if I don't get a response back before I get aroud to it. Overall I was really impressed with how easy it was to put together, as long as you took your time doing it. There were a lot of little touches that I had not expected but really appreciated. For instance, I ordered the optional power amp expecting I would have to cut a hole in the stock board to drop it in, but it came with a replacement with the space already carved out perfectly. @@PDubsArcadeLoft
PDubs, I can't say enough about Dave over at Buy Stuff. I e-mailed him last night and to the man's credit he sent me a response within a very short time. Even though it was after 9pm EST. And he gave me no guff for not having read through everything on the website with troubleshooting :-). I did take it back apart and checked to make sure all the wire harnesses were in. Dave suggested that it was most likely a bad USB port or cable. I checked there and noticed that the USB-C MIGHT not have been 100% inserted. Like 90%. I took it off and reseated, making sure to get it firmly 100% in and there you have it. Also, wanted to say for anyone picking this up - from a project I never got around to I already had the same HDMI converter he links to on the website if you don't want to get yours from them. When I started assembly I started freaking out a bit because they aren't the same as what gets sent out. But the one on Amazon just has a few more features. I guess if I ever want to switch to DVI or VGA (or maybe run extra monitors out for some reason) I'm all set, but otherwise it's overkill but not an issue. The only issue will be mounting, and making sure you don't mount the thing directly to the metal rear of the screen. 🙂 @@PDubsArcadeLoft
One more thing, since this is basically retroarch/emulation station, has anyone tried adding roms? I'm thinking of trying to add the arcade versions of some of these and see what happens. @@PDubsArcadeLoft
Companies not answering phone but I'm not getting any power to my monitor. I have a red light for board but nothing displaying to my monitor through the HDMi. Where did I go wrong?

I’ve been waiting for part 2 more than showing the installation. Hope it’s sooner than later.
What became of the coin door mod? Open USB to keep it lit?
Just use a Y splitter and you can keep the mod
How do you remove/add favorites to the favorites list?
I bought the z313 how the heck you get sound on this thing bought a 3 way male to female splitter sounds like static 😢
Buy Stuff has a tutorial on their website on how to set up those speakers.
I have a question, are the games already included with the tvbox?
Yes
Great video! Would love to know in your review what games, if any, support rumble and if all of the stock games are included in the collection as well as what versions they are.
You can ask buy stuff for the games list and all that

Are there enough buttons to play all of the games? I/m thinking mario kart 64 would need more.
We make it work creatively - remember the pedals are essentially two buttons.
Wow great games! I was hoping it would be plug and play. I would probably mess something up trying to do it myself.
It's a process
Just need a screwdriver! But we do have the option to supply the deck fully installed if you purchase an extra wheel deck.
@@BuyStuffArcades what a great option!
how do I update the encoder board and the new firmware that I ordered from buy stuff I can't seem to find any videos showing this I received the new updates I purchased for ridge racer mod in Jan
They have videos on their website on how to do it
AWESOME vid, Pdubs.
Please tell me they will do this for big buck hunter and arcade gun games!!:-)

Just curious . Did you add any sound options on your mod ? And if you did where did you mount ?
Companies not answering phone but I'm not getting any power to my monitor. I have a red light for board but nothing displaying to my monitor through the HDMi. Where did I go wrong?
Pdubs do you have any videos on how to install the z313 for my RR upgrade?
I do not
How do you get sound with z313
Thanks for the heads up I just went to Walmart and bought a male-to-female splitter that works what a huge difference in sound subwoofer sound so good in the cabinet thanks for the tutorial video
@@waterinthedesert81 fantastic! I'm happy to hear it worked out
Hi, I have an issue. My volume button is not working as expected. I tested it in gamepad tester as well. I can only get volume up to read. Now I can't play any game that requires coin input. Would appreciate some suggestions or help getting it diagnosed.
Nice vidz, they are force feedback for those game?
If the game supports it, yes. And it's more of a haptic rumble.
great tutorial!
Thank you! Cheers!
can you tell me the button layout from the stickers on buy stuff store ridge racer cabinet It doesn't show the xcoin button A button B ect go
The stock speakers wont work? They sell the amp on the website when you buy the kit to make the stock speakers work (at least according to their website).
Never mind. Saw Buy Stuff's comment below. 🙂
