- In this video we'll take a closer look at the Tamiya Fast Attack Vehicle on the FAV Chassis! I have wanted to bring one of these to the channel for quite some time and didn't think it would happen and then they announced that they would be re-releasing the 2011 re-release. How cool is that?!
So let's get started on the build!
In this video we will go over the manual and see what we're up against. There are a lot of great detail elements to this build including the driver figure so more painting time is going to be needed in building this kit.

This'll gonna be a greatt build Freddy. Thanks for showing the manual. There are interesting steps into. Really curious about this new series.
The driver figure🤩
It’s going to be very paint focused with this one lol - the driver is going to require a LOT of time so this will be interesting. Hoping to get started on it very soon. Still sourcing out one other paint colour which has been promised for me on Tuesday. Crossing fingers!!
The Grasshopper tyre video was a big help cheers.
You’re welcome. Glad it helped!
Hey Freddy, a nice addition to your collection. Enjoy the build! Oh go on…have a go with the painting of the driver figure, you know you want to…you’ll never know, might surprise yourself! The worst that can happen, you have to blast it over with white primer and start again 😊😊😂😂best wishes to you and the family 🖐️😉😎
It is…so happy to be able ti get my hands on this. Now…lol…the driver figure. Since making this video I actually have decided to try doing the army fatigues. The driver is such a big part of this kit it seemed like I just had to paint it. And you’re right…if it turns out bad I’ll just have to paint the whole thing over again. Thanks for watching :) I’ll keep you posted on the driver.
It is a cool buggy, you are going to enjoy building it. I did not paint mine the tan color, you'll be fine with the molded color of it!
Awesome Addam…and good to know. Im getting closer to starting but it’s been a bit crazy work wise. Im to check in on Tuesday one more time for a couple paints I’ve been promised but if they haven’t come in I’ll be doing some alternate colours for some of it so I can get started.
I need to build mine soon
I’m looking forward to it. I’m still waiting on paint as you have to paint a few parts right from the get go. But I guess it builds anticipation to get started :)
Hi Freddy! So this a first for me.. My son and I decided to build a kit together and this is the one he chose and it will be arriving today!! I’ll be able to watch your instructional videos before building the kit so the timing will be interesting. My plan for the driver is to do my base solid color maybe like an army green or similar and then use a sponge so dab the camp pattern on. Idk if my son will be up for that or not but it should do the trick
Very cool John! This is a perfect choice. Since making this video I actually changed my mind about the driver figure. It’s such a prominent part of the kit I’m going to try painting the army fatigues in all the colours the manual suggests. I went out and bought the paint needed yesterday. There will be a bit of a delay though as I’m determined to paint this in the Tamiya colours but as you know canada recently banned Tamiya spray paints. But the local hobby store thinks they can still access what I need so I have to wait a week for a shipment to arrive. So it might be a bit for the videos to come out. That being said I think I’ll start painting the driver asap. I’ll keep you posted John. But you both are going to love building this!
@ it was delivered like 20 minutes ago and now that it’s in my hands I’m so excited for the build! I hope he is able to get the paints you need for the driver!!
@@BargainBashersRc that’s so cool John! I love the box art too! It’s nice that it’s modeled in the sand colour. I’m not going to bother painting what’s already molded in the right colour. I think once the decals are on it it’s going to look amazing! So cool it’s just arrived!
Technically it’s an SRB chassis 😁
No, not really. All the SRB chassis were a flat plate design and this is a plastic tub style. Similar in a looks to say the rough rider but with the plate chassis and the twin trailing arm front suspension and the wish bone rear suspension the SRB chassis kits are a lot different.
What Addam said lol
i had one of these and even with the bearings it was soooooooo slow ha ha
It may need the super stock motor to get more out of it but we’ll see. I’m not too worried about speed with this one…it’s more for the looks. I’m actually hoping they rerelease the military hummer vehicle that came out a number of years ago. It looks incredibly realistic in motion.
@@FastFreddyRC thinking back i dont think i had bearings in the wheel hubs only the gearbox
@ that would make a difference I’m sure but the overall speed difference might not be that much.
