- Shared Parameters are very useful and even necessary when trying to push information to different Projects, Families or Tags in Revit.
This Revit Tip will explain how Shared Parameters work, how to create then and how to use them. Enjoy.

If your company needs BIM/Revit Assistance.. you can get help without hiring an in-house BIM Manager.
A virtual BIM Manager (me) means you and your team can get immediate help (and ongoing assistance) without dealing with the overhead of hiring someone full time.

A 100 hour week!!!!! Dude.. go get some rest. =) You probably had a deadline... happens every time... it comes with the profession!
@@miketaylor8211you guy's are brained washed😂buy some stock and option trade! Wasting a lot of time if you have family and friends. Spend that with them.
Does Warren buffet know what a shared parameter in Revit is😂

The ‘little nuggets’ are fun when you find them… like little Easter eggs. :)
I have loved your channel for a long time and am impressed with how you explain. Your advice has helped me solve several problems. Can you please create content related to structural engineering? THANKS
Dear and respected Mike, I just have to say ONE BIG THANK YOU
Crystal Clear Explanation about shared Parameter
Vert Nice and détailed démonstration. Happy to follow you. Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot, I really like the way you teach, the way of teaching is tramendous.
Gday Mike, absolutely smashing tutorial mate. Thank you so much for the fine detailed explanation
The way you explained it is just wow. I've never understood shared parameters like now. Thanks manb
Thanks alot for the tutorial.Like the energy. It really helps. Happy reviting.
No one can explain it better like u did👌
Thank you for your thorough explanation, you really make it easy to understand. Big up to you.....
AMAZING!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!! Thank you mike!! Another Amazing VID Training!! Thank you Mike!!!

Thank you so much Master Mike 💪
Man i wish i can work with you.
Thanks for all of these helpful information.
excellent
Hello Mr Mike, I am really grateful for the explanation of shared parameters... Can you please do a tutorial on global parameters?! I will be most grateful if my request is granted... Thanks in anticipation of your favourable response
@Herbert: Certainly. I will explain Global parameters in a video very soon! I put it on my list. Thank you for the suggestion!
It is impressive that you can sit over a creek and use Revit!
Wifi is spotty out here in the woods!!
Very informative
Awesome
THANKS

Big teacher

Would it be easier to set the total number of sheets to a type parameter so they all update as opposed to an instance?
Hi. project info may be used instead sheets for total number of sheets
THIS was amazing! I been struggling to figure out why the sheet numbering wasnt working when we updated the title block but I didnt realize that shared parameter from the family was not loaded into the project itself. I can't find the source txt file so I just made one from scratch and it works.
Is there any way to use a formula or parameter so the TOTAL sheet number will automatically tally and calculate the number of sheets in the filters sheet schedule?
Use a sheet schedule with sheet count, then hide everything on the schedule and show the count total. Put that schedule (that shows only the total sheets) in place of that "shared parameter" called "total # of sheets" that he is referring to. When you add or delete a sheet that number updates automatically
Thanks for the Tip! Just wondering if you can use a filter or a calculated value with the shared parameter to calculate and auto populate the quantity of sheets so you don't have to fill in that column.. I'm so lazy! ha.
I’m looking for ‘auto populate’ too!!
Perhaps in the next version of Revit!!
@@miketaylor8211 good add for the wish list!
Use a sheet schedule with all fields hidden and show only the total sheet count.
If you make the total number a type parameter, I imagine you only get to change it at one place.
correct! I guess I should have done that... or just put text on the Titleblock and remember to edit it when you print.
That was Just REVITING training!!! (see what I did there "riveting" ehehehe)
I love the video, but man, I'm pretty sure excel could populate cells like that in 1997.
I know! Right? They are just now figuring out how to do it in Revit. And I wish we didn't have to use a 'plugin' to make it link!!!
o coroa se achando, mau ele sabe q se mandar uma anotação genérica parametrizada dentro de qualquer família consegue esse feito fácil... qnd se usa revit Mais de 8hs por dia vc descobre tanta coisa...
