Buenas noches Bien hecho señor Donn Diy por su gran trabajo duró que hace cada día ok gracias de corazón por enseñar a tus suscriptores tus proyectos saludos a familia desde Andalucía españa
Thanks for sharing with us Donn, still coming along okay even though your invisible shop helper put the wrong bolts in where they didn't go because someone had the wrong hole size drilled? You fixed it so no problem!! Keep up the good work and great videos, stay safe. Fred.
I'm glad the amphibious vehicle is still around. I never saw it around after it was done. I hope that you add a propeller to it, I remember how it didn't move very fast when it got into the water.
@@DonnDIY been missing the tracked vehicle and your mini backhoe that you were given ..great work love the videos .. some day might need a over head crane system in the shop to pick up items and move them to other end of the shop .. your builds are getting bigger and heaver .. love the work you do
Almost seems to be a segment missing; meaning where this one leaves off and the rest of it [the chain housing and final assembly], finishes up. I searched around thinking I missed something, but I guess the next segment is the "trail build start to finish." Either way I'm glad I found this channel.
The massive runout has been dwarfed by the massive turnout. You are SO CLOSE to 1 MILLION Subs! Congrats, Donn! You will be there soon. Love your work!! 😍
Those 8 mm bolts are sneaky little buggers! You think you have all of them off the workspace, and some manage to find their way into a hole they shouldn't be in. But you found and corrected the issue before you put it under a load. Half the issue with trying to straighten something, especially doing it cold, is knowing when good enough is good enough. You got them decently well straight.
100% certain that I speak for many many of us Donn when I say that it is a real pleasure to hear you talking in such great English through the video. And as a bonus, although we certainly appreciate your efforts, you do not have to spend so much time on such carefully written subtitles = ) ! Thanks for the uploads matey, very much appreciated ! Hope all is well.
It is fun to see all of these vehicles you have made joining together...haha. I cannot believe how many of your build videos I have watched, but it is great. Excited for next time!
As I said at the time, my brother in-law built a 6 wheel drive buggy with a fiat 500 motor which snapped Chevy v8 axles, the gearing and torque multiplication what does it. You should admire your work mate, what you have done overs the years is remarkable, cheers from Australia. Ps perhaps a carport for the buggy with a steep snow shedding roof would be a good simple side project.
I don't know how Chevy axles are in Australia but here in the US they're notoriously weak. At least the GM half ton pickups like the Silverado and Sierra are.
Thanks for sharing with us, it's a pleasure to watch your creativity and skills. Can't wait for the next video 👍. Also, not sure how learned English but it is very good 👍.
Great job fixing that shaft , sometimes you would have needed to heat the shaft before pressing it . I love how meticulous you are when you build your projects. Cheers brother🍻👍🏻
I remember when you were building that amphibious vehicle, also that was the time I stumbled on your channel and soon after I subbed. hard to believe it was 2 years already
I thought I'd see it move, dang it. Alright stoked for the next one, this thing looks sick! We are going to want to see an updated logging video, with this in action. The whole shebang
@8:30 It seems that 4x4 gear transmission housing design, comes with lubricating oil storage. To prevent oil leakages or water seep into housing, please consider having some seals/ gasket in place with flange/cover, as well as seal/ packing where Pillow Block bearing is mounted.. Cheers
There numerous way to DIY gasket. E.g. Transfer the shape and hole position to paper as a template, then prepare gasket material and trim it accordingly as per template. As for the sealing with pillow block bearing, suggest to machine some seal seating to be welded to base cover where pillow block is attached. Wish you Godspeed..
2:55 You don't need a new shaft. Heat the high spot, and quench with water. Recheck runout. Repeat on each additional high spot. Or use a press. LOL. Didn't know if you had enough power to move it or not.
That second shaft had lot of run-out, you did a good job getting it back to where it's usable, must have one heck of a press to do it and good eye... You should put some sort of rolls on inside of drive-housing to keep chain from dragging, a wear plate will also wear chain and or a teflon plate might have to be replaced often cause it might not take the constant abrasive dragging of a heavy chain.... I remember that track vehicle build, it was a really really good shew...........
Looks like time to build an enclosed shed for these awesome vehicles? Probably not a very good feeling watching your hard work rust away. Looking forward to seeing this super bad workhorse in action!
I saw a diagram he made of the dairy barn that he's partially converted into his shop. Most of it hasn't been touched and wants to turn it into an auto shop.
Need a 5 gallon bucket of the FluidFilm… it’s a wax blend that you slap on with a big paint brush if you get the bucket… if you use the little spray can you can spray it on which is much handier but you get a lot less product for your money with those small can’s… around the farm or e What have ya… you get a whole bunch in the bucket and it’s slower but way more accurate if you are wiping it on or painting it on your surfaces that you want to protect.,, it’s amazing at stopping vehicles undercarriage from rusting and general surface protection .,, it blocks the water and moisture… check it out it’s a real good thing!!!
Great work. It I still feel like it probably would have been smart to add a keyway on those shafts for the sprockets ALONG with welding them. That’s not much weld surface area for the amount of torque that those will be put under.
Donn I would like to see you build something with with those types of wheels again. I was thinking maybe a road grader or something like that., Or some type of dump trailer for the atv as well. I think if this trailer works a dump trailer would be really cool. I have not even finished watching this episode yet.
I also think that the desgin would work for some sort of snow machine as well. For other people. One could adjust the height of the drive axel to get a nice high clearance snow machine or something to which one could add tires and or tracks. If done right one could add boggie wheels on bottom and top that can be removed for tire use. Track machine kind sucks becuase you can not switch to tires for summer use. This desgine would work well for it.
On the plus side now you have lada shortened axle to put into tracked ATV, witch should be light enough for lada axle to handle. Probably stripped a gear and those are still somewhat readily available specially if you dont have hard constrictions to Russian imports -.- so might as well restore it, given how much work went to it and atv like that would be pretty useful. If you dont want to, then sell to me :D
I was thinking, since wood are you heating source, then why don't you use wood pellets , you could make the pellet boiler burner, and the pellet press 😁
I mentioned a wear strip in the drive hub's as well as an oil bath for prolonged life personally I'd have rivet linked the chain but it would be a nightmare in future split link ok for drive in one direction
He mentioned in another video that he is going to put oil in it. He just needs to put sealant between the bearing flanges and the casing. It doesn't need a lot of oil, just enough that the chain touches the surface of the oil...
As always killer work Donn!! Maybe I missed it, but how do you seal the shafts to the housing? What keeps water from traveling down the shafts that protrude from the chain housing and making its way in?
Wow you sir have skills . But I hate to say it you need a bigger shop with a garage attached to houze all your builds lol. Until the next video peace out.

Amazing what you do. You are a one man factory all by yourself.
It's a pleasure following you.

From the original idea through the design stage, selecting and cutting the materials, building up into the finished article. Brilliant engineering .

Never a quiet one neither🤣
Привет ,сварочные швы))))))))))) становяться всё лучше 👍
Good to see the tracked vehicle again
Yes! At least it's in the barn out of harms way now. That'll give me some time to come back to it again.

Adding a catalyst to that farm and tractor paint makes a huge difference in how fast it cures and how hard it gets.

Looking good 👌And awsam to see the tracked amphibious vehicle back 👍
Merci pour ces partages. On attend toujours la suite avec impatience. Un plaisir de suivre ce splendide travail. Bonne semaine.
Never seen a YT build this complex with that many parts. Amazing! 👍👍
Tracked vehicle was "the thing" which forced me to subscribe your channel👌 It's nice to see that old lady again😁
The hydraulic press earns its keep 😎
“You can have any colour you like, so long as it’s green” 😁
Good job correcting the shaft.
You my freind are a heck of an engineer and you build some awsome units! Keep up the awsome work!
Watching Donn making he's magic makes me proud to be Estonian :) Keep up good work!
Truly an artist and craftsman.
Appreciate the narration on this one, your English is very good!
Gran trabajo! Un saludo desde Mendoza Argentina 🇦🇷
I hope this all turns out to be a huge amount better than you expected. Thank you for sharing your efforts with all of us! 👍👍👊👊
Great to see the amphibious again
Donny thanks for the up-date, your video's and your work is firstclass. I like it a lot.

Ottimo lavoro, alto ingegno al prossimo video, un saluto Gek
I have used wood and UHMW chain returns on the bottom chain conveyors. Reduces the noise a lot.
liked the second part and the voiceover
Speaking of .08mm runout,I worked with an older machinist who claimed to have a .003" eyerometer. I didn't doubt him.

Well done Donn! You should fire that guy that put the wrong bolts in!!! I think his twin brother must come around my place and "help" me too!!! ;)

If the wheel distance is right you could put skid steer tracks on the trailer wheels to keep them from sinking into the ground when you hit mud.
Someone got a new Makita drill!

Nice to see the tracked vehicle again! Is it 2 years ago! Time flyes by😁. I've been following all your projects the last two years.
Time for another barn build to house all the vehicles
Your welds are nice and clean Donn! Good job!

Donn you should do a video overview of all of your projects over the years. Short clip of the build then the use and then how it is now!
The guy that installed the M8 bolts must have been the same guy that bent the drive shaft - you can't trust the hired help...
Nice save!

thank Donn ;)
Good videos
Great video as usual. I was wondering what happened to the tracked vehicle.
You can use an oxy/acetylene torch to hotspot to draw-straighten a shaft very effectively. Wonder if a TIG torch would work the same?
''jopenbuhh'' :D :D väga kõva töö, ei joua oodata kui saab naha metsas tegutsemas käru
I mentioned a wear strip in the drive hub's as well as an oil bath for prolonged life personally I'd have rivet linked the chain but it would be a nightmare in future split link ok for drive in one direction

He just needs to put sealant between the bearing flanges and the casing.
It doesn't need a lot of oil, just enough that the chain touches the surface of the oil...
ça vient aussi des galets de roulements !!!
Mate you need to make your welding table have adjustable height functionality
Amazing!
Awesome!
