- I was surfing the auctions looking for parts cars to buy and came across a burnt Hellcat Charger that didn't look too bad but maybe I was wrong

The trunk needed to be opened to disconnect the battery. Missed seeing you for awhile Dave
Door shell pricing: People often associate price with quality. So even though you know they are usable, if u price them too low, they will think there is more wrong with them. Raise the price and they will sell...as odd as that sounds.
I was surprised to see multiple sold listing for $1000 and the doors had damage, I feel I priced them reasonably.
Worked with seven fire department securing a 10 year period back in California, it was standard procedure that if the interior was moderately to severely burned, they had to pop the trunk because typically the fuel tank is sitting under it and they want to minimize risk, plus with the interior that hot there could be a smoldering potential flare up within the trunk. It's all about safety!
It’s also embarrassing when they didn’t find the dead body in the trunk.😂
With these dodges as well they have the batteries in the trunk so they may have opened it to cut the cables so nothing was live

If you want to test the water in the engine for saltwater, put it in a pan and boil it out and salt residue will be in the pan.

Fire departments all over the country in general like to make more damage than what the car already has for no reason. If the fire starts on the front there is no reason for them to try to cut or pry open the trunk of any vehicle or vice-versa.
the FD was looking for NOS in the trunk :D seriously, the trunk was unknown to them, and probably wanted to make sure there wasn't anything extra flammable there. probably standard protocol
I'm convinced the fire department likes to break stuff just because. My friends restaurant caught fire and he had brand new registers untouched and a fire fighter took an ax to all of them and pushed them off the counter.

Salt water or sea water leaves white stains when dried most of the time.
No white blotchy marks means not salt water. Also salt water rusts aggressively fast. Fresh water no so much.

Dave I think this Hellcat proves that it is a good idea to carry a fire extinguisher in your car. Especially with cell phones & chargers being used. I have mine mounted just below the console on the passenger side! I have never needed it but that one time would make it totally worth it! It's too bad they roached the decklid & the passenger quarter. Hopefully, with the parts you can sell and the parts that you will use, it will be worth it for you to buy this car. As always I am looking forward to the next video!
There are better things than fire extinguishers most of the time they don't work when you need them

It is in better Shape as it normal should be after a fire , the roof and and the pillars supriced me that the structure looks pretty straight from what i can see here. One Question i have from my Buddy, he is collecting Parts (Engine, Trans, Suspensions, Electronics and all rest) to do an M157 5,5 Biturbo Swap from an totaled W112 E63S 4 Matic. Definetly a challenge. Are there any existing Swaps done in US you are known from? Here in Germany or in general Europe no one has done it. It makes of course no sense, thats clear, but he likes the unusual Stuff:D
Fire dept did that to disconnect or cut cables im sure. I have seen it a few times in my auto body career

The reason why they messed with the trunk. That's where the battery is at and he's going to cut the battery cables
Maybe the fire burnt itself out on the hellcat and wasnt tortured with cold water so the front panels survived without warping ?
Usually when its that far burnt it won't go out on its own
My guess is the fire department may have been confirming that there wasn't a body or something related to a crime in there depending on circumstances of the fire. Stolen, arson etc
