Ace is the only true rock star who was in Kiss. So much of their signature sound is derived from his playing style. So sad Gene & Paul treated him like rubbish

Thanks so much for posting this!! I didn't find out about the show until it was already sold out, and would've done just about anything to be there!! Hopefully he will come back around one of these days. ACE RULES!! I'd much rather see this lineup than the cover band touring as KISS these days!!
A great show in Rocky Mount , Ace played a long time and played some old hits , sound was great , first time at harvester super venue

Shock Me is one of the best Kiss songs ever.. and Rip it Out is easily the best song of all 4 solo albums 1978

I have loved Ace my entire life, but let's face reality. He looks a guy that showed up at this band's show for the first time and is trying to learn the songs as he goes. Even the look on him says he doesn't know what he's doing. I have watched 3 straight shows in a row and it's the same in all 3. It's just brutal to watch and listen to. He's not using backing tracks, but he's not singing 90% of the time either. Heartbreaking. I know I will not be popular but this, but come on....watch him! It's brutal.

Telling my girlfriend how ace is my main squeeze from Kiss and how he still has the new albums. Always working hard. Not completely milking the old days. He is living in reality. Where as Paul as he said in his book uses kiss as a liferaft
at least he puts out his solo albums, but the milking the old days is part of what he does. his set is mostly older KISS songs 70s.... Just like KISS... lol

I'm here to watch ACE do his thing. I will not bring up counterfeit KISS. But since everybody has I will flashback to 1979 DYNASTY tour. The original lineup all the gimmicks the beautiful costumes the stage. I'm front row right and have burns on my face spitting confetti out of my mouth screaming myself hoarse
WHat these young men from NYC accomplished is historical. The music the show the management made the dream live. They sucked hundreds and hundreds of hard earned dollars out of my pocket and I gladly had no problem giving it. After all I was enlisted in the KISS ARMY.
I was there to the left of the guy shown, I actually sat down and got a bunch of cool photos with my camera while everyone else recorded the show on their phones

Ace sounds good here. Sometimes his concerts are questionable quite honestly, but this sounds decent.
As much as I love Ace, and this clip was nice, this clip also shows Ace could not be in KISS today.

@@toms4442 Hey, Tom, you are not implying that Paul can't sing anymore....are you haha? I have posted elsewhere that Jim Morrison, Lemmy, and Ace are my favorite musicians of all time. Certainly not because Ace is a technical wizard or consistently tight and on time......Ace's imperfections and sloppiness most of the time has created a uniqueness to his tone and sound that is instantly recognizable. During an interview a few years ago, Ace, who can't read music, said that he "wings" it each night that he is on stage. Despite my having listened to the record thousands of times, Kiss Alive (not too live thanks to Eddie Kramer) would be my choice if I were on a deserted island and could only take one record for eternity......the opening explosions as Deuce kicks in to that great opening riff to Parasite to Peter singing Black Diamond.....
KISS have a good act despite the tricks, I enjoyed them a lot last year in Milwaukee. However, I would love to see Ace live, you can feel the power and energy right in front of you. Still a great guitarist and frontman with a very funny sense of humor.

Maybe try push Srange Ways into the setlist I Wanna Hold You/Inside The Vortex/I Love My Doll's are maybe songs to consider trying out Stay away from Getaway/ Stranger in A Strange Land/Insane/they dont sound great at all live

I have to disagree Rip it out is the best song. We saw him last night at House of Blues Houston took my 12 year old granddaughter her first concert she loved it. Took my son to his first Kiss show all original members then 3 years ago my daughter to End of the road tour Houston now my granddaughter to Ace Frehley generations of Kiss and Ace fans
Paul could never sound this good with Marshall stacks in a small venue...hell "KISS" doesn't even sound this good with their sound enhancements. Space Ace was always way more talented then the others.

The loss of the other guitarist has certainly affected the backing vocals a bit (and does Matt normally have a mic? Maybe he’s singing to step in), but I think Ace’s playing is better to compensate.
Watching these videos is starting to make me curious... most videos uploaded after this one have him slowed down a bunch and sounding drunk. Did something happen after this concert that made him sound kinda off? Cause he just has a thick New York accent here and looks 100% together! Hmmmm... Someone please help me figure this out, been on my mind for a while.

New York Groove here is far better than Kiss ever played it.. Paul sucked tryin to play that back in 79. It was horrible
