This was put together pretty quickly but I thought the title/idea was funny so I opted to make this. Don't take my theory parts too seriously, but I hope some of my thoughts were insightful. Subscribe for more theme park videos!
The track pieces are already built, as it was planned to come to Energylandia in Europe but it got cancelled, so not hard to build it here and it’ll prob save vekoma money by doing so
My guess is that they DID have plans for that spot, but just not for 2025. However, in early July, after the merger went through and once they started to realize that TT2 wasn't going to re-open, they pivoted and took the original plans to bring this ride to Six Flags Mexico and moved up to CP for next year instead. This is probably the first major attraction introduction that was directly influenced by the Six Flags merger.
Making valravn to rougarou a mythical creature horror section of the park would be really cool cause it would have this valravn rougarou and iron dragon which all fit the theme
I agree. It feels like this was decided this summer. Bump the 2026 project to 2027 and slide this one into the lineup for 2025. Takes some of the heat off of Top Thrill 2.
Hearing the mention of steel curtain closing gave me whiplash. Earlier this year, I planned a trip out to Kennywood with my brother, and about 2 weeks after we planned our trip and picked out the date, the closure was announced. We still went and had a lovely time
Six Flags Mexico was the intension. However I would guess there has been some unexpected bumps in the road for permitting. Cedar Point has the space available, and well they are literally on an island, so I don't know how much permitting CP has to do. Maybe little to none. So they can have it ready for 2025.
I like this addition, but my one complaint is the colors. The colors look nice don't get me wrong, but red and black doesn't fit the theming. Imo ocean blue track with white or silver supports would be the best color scheme for this especially along the marina. Maybe a red/white color pattern on the tilt tower supports to actually make it look like a shipping crane that it's supposed to represent in the storyline.
I think the colors fit the story line, but I can understand them not fitting the lake atmosphere well. Maybe they could paint the lift hill like the crane and the rest like the water, but that would probably be risky.
Cedar Point can use the capacity regardless of what others may need a coaster. It’s a good PR move as well after the TT2 delay. It’s more than just about which parks need a coaster.
The ride got denied by the Mexican government, it seems mainly due to people complaining about how trees would need to be cut down in order to make space for it, but it seems the official excuse is that six flags Mexico did not obtain the correct permits (which seems fishy for a world-class amusement company). So they probably just brought it to CP as the space for it was already available without having to do any extra work. Also, can they change the name please. Save Siren's Curse for a damn proper water ride.
2 new coasters to ride in 2025 at Cedar Point. Vekoma has always been very nostalgic for me. As a fan, it's nice that their new coasters are world class again lol. I rode Gravity Max in 2013, and let me tell you, people love this coaster type. I love to see it back
It’s for the best Mexico didnt want to make a world record coaster in the parking lot it was the only way they could build it they didn’t want it to be just a random coaster they wanted to theme the area around and everything but it would have been to much if they went that direction I do think they should have gave it to knotts or another park with less major attractions
Give valleyfair this cedar fair/six flags, valleyfair needs a new roller coaster with inversions and this is a perfect fit. Give it 4 inversions so it has the most in the states and give at a lot of ejector airtime as that’s something the park also desperately needs and you’re got a new best ride at the park. Plus, it’s probably way cheaper than a new b&m or intamin, so you got a new cheaper unique ride with a great ride experience. It would be a great way to end my home parks almost 20 year coaster drought
Yeah, there's just one small problem that you kind of hit on there at the end. While Valleyfair is "your home park", the rest of the Country could care less about it. Not really the best way to spend 20 to 30 million dollars, as you've found out over the past 20 years.
@@Studio732JRL-k7y a vecoma tilt coaster costs like 18 mil tops, most b&ms dont cost 30 mil. Plus valleyfair is a profitable park, their total ridership for all rides was 7 million last year and has an average of 8 million guests per year, and hasn’t gotten a coaster in 17 years, there is no reason not to give them a tilt coaster.
On top of all of that, just think about this for a second… this coaster’s grand opening alongside a re-opening of Top Thrill 2 next year? This will catch some eyes, THAT’s for sure.
They’re literally getting revamped Top Thrill Dragster, god forbid they have to wait, did they really need this? Did all of the CF parks need to be passed up so Cedar Point could get this?
If the theory about the Energylandia track being at SFM and now going to Cedar Point is true, then it would make sense that they could build this quickly, without any leaks or rumors going around beforehand. Still, this makes me even more excited for a CP trip soon.
Because then in 2025 they have 2 new coasters (Top Thrill 2 and Sirens Curse) so if one of the two breaks down you still have reason to go to Cedar Point. If both break down they're screwed though. Hope Top Thrill 2 will run fine next year
I don’t think this ride had anything to do with top thrill too. Before top thrill to open, Tony said that there was a contract for a new attraction already signed for 2025. I don’t think anyone expected it to be a roller coaster. Especially of this type.
Great addition. People keep forgetting, CP removed a lot of attractions in the last 5 to 6 years vs what they've added. But people need to curb their enthusiasm that it'll open on Opening Day. That's not happening. lol. Reason they put, "Summer of 2025"
I don’t care that they got the ride I just wish they went with a model like fonex or lech coaster. Just because having a dive and a tilt right beside each other seems repetitive
Oh, well! It seems decent, I guess. It’s CP’s decision for their park. However, I wish that they would have taken my suggestion. I feel that they should have added an X2 to their park. That would have been phenomenal, and so many people would have wanted to ride it. This just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. CP needed to go really big, and X2 would have fitted the bill. Too bad, once again, that CP didn’t take my suggestion. Peace.
The idea of paying (then waiting for a long period of time) to have massive amounts of adrenaline course thru your body is a young man/womans game. (maybe there should be an over/under age included with a height requirement) Including the fact that millions of small things need to work perfectly 100% of the time for extended periods of time makes this whole idea...odd. But then again, so are many people. BTW, I was a Carny Foreman in the late 70's on the Enterprize (a horizontal ferris wheel that lifted to vertical)
I feel like many other cedar point parks could have used this carowinds kings island heck give it to one of the smaller parks the ride seems not that large so it would fit there
