Thorough video! It’s hard to stand up to Cedar Point but I absolutely adore King’s Island. I feel like KI is a great compliment park since it has amazing wooden coasters at Sandusky just doesn’t have
This is a tough one. When I visited both parks in 2015, I actually preferred Kings Island more. But when I returned to Cedar Point again in 2017, I liked that place even more. I am returning to Kings Island this summer, so I'll have to return to Cedar Point shortly after and decide again.
It’s similar with me. I wasn’t impressed with Kings Island in 2019 and my memories of Cedar Point then aren’t great so I want to revisit Cedar Point. But, I didn’t realize until making the video that both parks aren’t too different.
For me, how about BOTH? I need to revisit Cedar Point and get on more rides there, and also head to Kings Island on top of that to compare and contrast.
@ Also, buying Fast Lane Plus won't make your experience any less stressful. I recommend spending at least two days at Cedar Point. It'll make your experience less stressful even though it's possible to do most things in one day. I've done it.
My personal favorite out of these two is King’s Island (that’s probably because Cedar Point is my home park so I’m more used to everything their than the stuff at King’s Island) I really like the theming and rides at KI better. But I still LOVE CP and can’t wait to go this summer/Halloween
Cedar Point is one of the finest examples of an expanded leisure destination to amusement park and Kings Island is one of the finest examples of a designed theme park. If you're visiting the Northern part of the state and have an extra day or two go to Cedar Point. If you're going to the Southern and particularly the Southwestern part of the state, Kings Island won't disappoint. If you're going specifically to visit parks just buy a season pass and an All Park Passport and spend multiple days at both parks. Plenty to do especially if you also enjoy water parks.
If you are looking for a less stressful experience, go with Kings Island. The park is ran very well and is less mobbed than Cedar Point. Cedar Point is well worth visiting as well.
Cedar point can handle busy days. It has so many coasters. Kings Island's top 2 rides are arguably better than anything at cedar point outside the dragster and steel vengeance, but you can usually ride Gemini and magnum all day. Kings Island feels like the part of cedar point you've never been at. Really cool, it's just smaller.
@@Southeastern_Thrillsit feels like an alternate reality of cedar point, as if there's just more to the back of the park that you never went to in the first place.
@@Southeastern_ThrillsI am way more familiar with cedar point so everything I go to is compared to it. Biggest ones I have been to were Dollywood and kings Island and kings Island was more Cedar point ish
There's no competition. Both parks have been designed not to compete with each other since cedar fair took over years ago. Ki is our home park and we just head up to CP about 4 hours away a few times a year. Cedar point has no decent wooden coasters but has maverick, millennium force and Steve. Ki has the beast at night. And I'll disagree about banshee vs raptor. I'm older and even my younger cohort said he felt sick after raptor. I can ride banshee 2x in a row. Raptor is a 🤮 to me. Fun video thanks!
Cedar point has like 12 record setting rides all in the same park, and only beaten years later by small margins at other parks dispersed around the world. Almost all of their coasters have been "state of the art" through the last 40 plus years, and its all in one location! He didn't even mention Top Thrill Dragster, which they added to this year 2. The only point of this video for me is to see what KI has, bc i haven't been there in 40 years. Luckily i had Geauga lake as a close backup, so i never needed to make the huge trip to KI, which is clearly still inferior.
CP is more of a “Beach Resort” park with a Amusement Park in the middle. Kings Island is more of a Amusement Park with a Water Park added. I like KI best !
@@Southeastern_Thrills Well you got the Marina on the West side, cabins and the Water Park and parking lots on the North. Then the Hotel buildings and Boardwalk and Beach all along the East side. KI has had better Ride Ops the last few years and better all around park functionality. I give them that. I love KI but as a whole including Coaster line-up The atmosphere, restaurants, the Resort Style Amusement Park that Cedar Point had become is on a whole different level, But it has to be ran and operated correctly or it's all for nothing. The new Boardwalk area the new Pavilion and the new wild mouse coupled with whatever the new Re-imagined TTD will be in 2024 has Cedar Point in place to clearly take back the crown of best Amusement in the USA 💯 Kings Island, Magic Mountain, Hershey Park & Universal OrL round out my top 4 in the country
CP has 5 coasters that have at one point, or still are, in popular contention for top 10 in the world, as well as being a living, rideable history museum of coasters. I think objective rankings don't really capture what makes CP a coaster mecca, but acknowledging its problems is important.

Great pumpkin vs wilderness run and woodstock vs woodstock. You didnt even compare park layout, dining options, park capacity or ride ops. I can go to KI and not worry about what ride is going to be closed for the day. CP is always a gamble. KI is a better overall experience hands down.
1. Woodstock Express at Cedar Point is way different than Woodstock Express at Kings Island 2. Park operations and dining options from my experience are about the same 3. I do agree Cedar Point is stressful
@@Southeastern_Thrillsbut you still put blue streak vs woodstock express? Blue streak vs Mystic timbers is closer comparison. Park ops at KI is the pinnacle of how a park should be ran.
