dude jorgenson is just "That Guy" keeping up with mvdp in the classics and roglic on the climbs, what a guy
Keeping up with mvdp?? Mvdp won with 3 minute and smoking some sigarette along the way. Jorgenson Is a fantastic rider but he has to make a big step to compete for tour or classic. He has time and the perfect team tò grow but with this performance you are Just best of the rest
You mean pogacar
His performance this year is incredible. I barely noticed him last year, but this year he’s, indeed, impressive. To say he kept up with MVDP in the classics is however completely wrong. Like Stefano said, MVDP destroyed him - and everyone else he encountered - in the classics. Besides, yesterday he couldn’t keep up with Roglic
He is still incredible, but is not ‘that’ incredible, his completeness is though
And then they say Wva is diverse!
@@Tim-K. The point is, the dude is very good level in the spring classics and can also do this type of stuff. An impressive allrounder
Derek Gee is riding at an insane level
New hesjedal?
He's doing really well
Derek Gee podium in TdF. Sam Benett, Remco Evenepoel and Chris Froome sharing sprinter's bus on mountain passes
Nobody would have thought Israel Premier Tech would ride for the podium. And nobody had Gee on their cards. Impressive riding by Gee!
@@mikedittsche to be fair i think Israel Premier Tech do realize his potential - he has a long contract until 2028... if he continues like this he could be their new GC guy for a the whole of that contract.
Remco seems to be getting more and more conscious about himself and during interviews, I respect a lot him for that
Huge ride from Marc Soler, Left it all out there.
Yes but not necessarily the smartest move...
@@farrier53 Well it wasn't a dumb move at all everyone else from the break was caught at the bottom of the climb in the end he just didn't have the legs to win.
I want to see Roglic absolutely launch it tomorrow and see what he is capable of from 1-2km out
Watching the finish, you forget Primoz issent in team visma, and jsut see 2 visma guys taking 1 and 2 in a race, like previus years.
Thanks Patrick , very informative as ever. Multiple boring hours concisely presented in 8 minutes.
Holding pogis wheel in the giro was practically impossible, hence I cannot gauge roglic form because he is not distancing opponent the way pogi and jonas does it......Remco probably just getting some fitness for the tour in....TDF 2024 will be very interesting tactically...
You mean getting beat b4 tour , He will get slammed again till everyone figures out hes not a GC rider .. he should stick to one day races
@@brentlopez-yg4yw He has won 12 GC's among a GT at 24yo, sure he's not a GC rider 🙄
When he's in good/top shape, only riders like Pog, Jonas and Roglic can beat him in GC.
I feel like Roglic has been more tactical recently starting last year, where he doesn't really waste energy on long attacks if it's unnecessary. So hard to gauge where he is vs Jona and Pogi if they're not up vs each other having to follow each other's attacks and wheels
@@brentlopez-yg4yw Not a huge Remco fan myself, but you cant deny he did win the Vuelta. He can be a GC... but is he the fourth best GC in the world? Probably not. Top 10? Maybe
@@pythor2117 Who is better at GC assuming all are at topshape?
First
classic Rogla at the post-race interview... "it was a hard day, huh?"
"Still waiting for the summer, huh?"
"Uh yeah, I mean, at the end, why not, huh?"
Cannot wait for Rog to mix it up with Jonas and Pog at the TDF. Absolutely want him to win.
It's hard to tell because Roglic is riding relatively conservatively. Pog would have probably taken 2 minutes today
Its also hard to tell if Vingegaard will compete in TDF... All depends on his recovery high altitude training
No doubt UAE, Bora and Visma (despite horrible luck with injuries) are the big 3 controlling the choo choo
Like could have Roglic launched it with 1km to go?
I like him but he lacks some race intelligence now and than.
Froome dropped before Sam Bennett. He's on his way to a tdf win for sure.
Can't believe he's still out there racing. Not worth the risk, he should retire.
Froomie is literally just a meme now
Respect his accomplishments in the past nonetheless..but for that dreadful crash...
Close ypur eyes and send your due diligence for past endeavors.
@@pandymoose these batteries nowadays run fairly quickly flat, but can be recharged overnight fairly easily.
Why not eh?
I really like his style. And he is a team player as well !!
"Uh yeah, I mean, at the end, why not, huh?"
TDF is looking pretty tasty now. Pog coming off the Giro, Rogilic looking good back from injury, Jonas the huge joker card, you just can't you write him off, despite the injuries and then a few random wild cards for good measure.
Massively impressed with Jorgensen.
Pro cycling is just suffering, and suffering, and suffering, with pain and suffering.
My dad explained it to me as a kid as a sport about who can have the biggest addiction to pain 😂
@gracebauer5120 my buddy says that. He says, I'm weird, I'm looking for pain.
and drugs
@@philipstevenson5166 🤣😂😂😂
Roglic looking scary good. It's a little hard to gauge since Pogi isn't here and we don't know where or how Jonas is, but still looking like prime Roglic. I do think Remco has gotten more mature in his interviews, which is a good sign. Didn't blame the crashes or the injury, he just says he's not in the shape right now and doesn't currently have it and the goal is to just hang on as long as he can and get more race fitness, which is the right attitude if the shape isn't there
I heard from an "inside" source (a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy) that they expect Jonas to go to the tour at almost peek form.
I also appreciate Remco's new attitude.
Wondering what the superlative label will be if he has not crashed twice. 🤪
@@brunodpm Same -- really hope he can get back in top shape.
Scary? He won a sprint. I think he looks mediocre.
Roglic seems more happy than last years, or am I wrong?
Naturally he now only one rooster in house. IMO
@@alesksander :-D
He is performing at top level so you better be happy 😅
“At the end, why not ah . . “ he’s always hilarious 🤣
"You can't fool me (Soler), I'm familiar with your game" -
Vlasov, Hindley, Martinez and Jungels is a pretty stacked domestique lineup for Froglic
Still a shame they let Politt go, that would have been some kind of a GC team man.
@@FrapsomaticalOption Well -- Pollitt just wanted to get more money I guess ! So he left to where he could get even more -- I would not blame him for this, but it is a kind of shame !
everyone talks about UAE but bora has a giro winner as their third strongest climber at the tour. crazy stacked TDF squad
@@franzroth2830 Hindley in peak form would be the last man over Vlasov but ever since Tirreno hes been a bit underwhelming
Like to see new names like Gee or Jorgenson, cant w8 to see their perfomance on tdf. Also Vlasov with Roglic became stronger.
Vlasov being 4th while being a domestic, is quite impressive.
Prime roglic is back
Sadly No. Look at The TT
@@peterers3 When was his TT better when avg was around 50 km/h?
Remco is just insanely aero
@@peterers3 His TT was really good given the course.
@@Eirikkinserdal its his skin
Lazkano is riding an incredible season
About 80kg. It's a Van Aertsian perf.
Hat off to Vlasov!
@LRCP superb analysis as we’ve come to expect. But never taken for granted. Appreciate it fella. I’ve only been able to follow the racing in snack size pieces as I’ve just got one of my most cherished results in an ultra Bikepacking race. The O-Fishial Lanterne Rouge in the RaceThroughPoland. I went out the back on the first climb of the day on the start parcours and didn’t see another rider for 11 Days, had bear encounters in Slovakia, got chased by a loose ostrich coming back into Poland. And close to being arrested in Hungary for impersonating a cyclist 🤣🤣 LRCP pods have me a glimpse into a sane world whilst living feral for nearly two weeks 💚🚴🏼
The thought that we could have two G(ee)s going for GC at the tour and the chaos that would ensue in the commentary is hilarious to me and I hope it happens.
"why not, eh?"
"Was a hard day a" 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Josh tarling was magnificent
I like Chris Froome but I think it's time he does Tour de langkawi and races in China... He can certainly get a good pay day in China.
Josh Tarling. Remember that name you will be seeing a lot of him in the future
Looks like the rogic we knew...for tdf Bora has to do their best against pog and jonas....roglic is a tough fighter...go for the tdf I say
Super performance from Bora, impressive work from Vlasov again ,really he is the super-domestique for Rogla,
and of course Primoz is amazing in these kind of finishes !
Jorgenson!
Josh Tarling hanging in there whilst Remco is getting dropped……😮
Wait, Froome is in the race?
What a joke...😂
I am sitting here with the feeling that Vingegaard would have went away many km’s from the top, where nobody would be able to follow him.
We will see😢
Seating and Dreaming....
Even nowadays Pogacar is attacking with even 8 kms to the finish
We will see prime Jonas in a few weeks
Why not, eh?
Jorgenson is a sleeper
honestly looks like Jorgenson might have been able to win is he didn't close Lazkano... somebody should talk to the Visma LAB coaches about not doing the favorite's work for him
But you also can't bet on the leader to close it down when Lazkano isn't a huge threat to him. Being 2+ minutes back. Not disagreeing with you but just playing advocate of the devil. Haha
@@Sportsloverandrew I don't think it's a tough calculation. You can close Lazkano *if* you're going to go straight over the top with a gap. If not... then you can't close Lazkano. Need to be on Roglic's wheel hyper focused on his body language to insta-respond to his kick. Easier said than done? Sure. But that's the play.
@@00100Matt Hard to tell, Roglic still has a better acceleration than most of these guys so even if Jorgenson has more in the tank the acceleration is something else.
@@AndrezzSpideyzzz Oh I'm not saying he would have definitively won. What happened? Vlasov never pulls off, Buitrago just goes to the front, raises the pace, but doesn't get a gap. That was a mistake by him. So far, no real decisions need to be made. Just riding the bike. Then Lazkano attacks at 400m. This is the decision point. Jorgenson surges to close. The question is, should he have done that? I think the answer, clearly, is no. Between 400m and 250m he used more energy than Roglic, to no advantage.
If Jorg says, "fuck it, your team controlled all day, you going to just let Lazkano win? And Roglic's answer would have been? We don't know. Maybe Roglic is patient, lets Lazkano go, and waits to launch at 250. But maybe not. Maybe he launches at 300 or 350, and that would be to Jorgenson's advantage. Hindsight is easy for me to say this, but still, bad decision for Jorgenson to surge and stop.
Lazkano's move makes some sense. At 400m he's going very early, but Roglic was deep and he could have very reasonably guessed that the other rider's would have looked around.
Hmmm Re: Kuss who weighs a buck 35 won the Vuelta by climbing with the best climbers in the world, lives at altitude and then went to altitude camp and now all of a sudden he can't even climb w/ lightweights?... Obviously he doesn't want to be a GC guy on purpose or they are purposely tanking him for the tour....or to Pull another sneaky vuelta move like they did last year....,or maybe he's going all in for stage 8
why are the commentators constantly praising evenepoel even when he's doing poorly? he is literally the only rider who gets this treatment and i dont understand where its coming from as a casual fan
He's a popular global mega-star coming off a bad injury!!! Ease up! :-/
Jungels is absolutely a great descender! Learned from the great Cancellara at RadioShack-Leopard
talk about the signature roglic lookback at the line
They go on an exercise bike afterwards to cool down the muscles gradually, or what's the reason for that?
Get Derek Gee on a real team! It's a huge shame he's signed on the 🤡 team until 2028.
Israel is better than at least a third of the world tour teams this year
Agreed. They have outperformed a huge amount of WT teams with their wins in Fleche, TDU, Vuelta Catalunya, and strong finishes in a host of other races.
I would say that they are a good team for him it seems and they are only getting stronger
It's coming !
Visma lost a Diamond
Not much they could do. Much rather keep JV than Roglic.
The lost was cause by a super domestique going out of his range . . . Sepp Kuss! Now, WHAT has Sepp done thus far? NOTHING!
@@savagepro9060 He left because he wanted to win the tour. Not because he wasnt allowed to betray his teammate.
@@kareberntsen7834Love Rogla but its impossible to win the TOUR especially at the moment, Pogi & Vinge are on another level.
@@Pogacar1 The only way its impossible is if he is forced to be a domestique for JV. Its not likely, but bigger upsets have happened in cycling.
Totally agree. Solo in the valley just drains energy thus the time lead. Soler is on form.
Valverde also beat Roglic in uphill sprints
Bora low key has built a great team. On paper they are a super team
Crazy how Tarling was still up there
I am wondering if Primoz ever gave such a long interview after a stage. ;-)
most ive seen him talk since he spread false rumors that he had covid during last years giro
Dude awesome to see Gee riding well and getting onto the podium. Feels like he's kind of just come out of no where. This plus his showing at the Giro is exciting and seems to really say he's someone to watch out for.
OTH, have you guys noticed the hair sticking out Roglic’s helmet? I hope he hasn’t concluded that that was the difference between him and Pog back in 2020 😅
allez Bob 🇱🇺🇱🇺🇱🇺🇱🇺
Derek Gee, WHOA...!! simply amazing . 😲
The Ottawa gang.
Freeezing, stiiiil waiting for de summer uh?... sounds like global warming is mysteriously absent from real TV.
I really like the prospect of the tour this year. I don't know who is gonna win, with roglic a serious outsider, vingegaard probably a outside favorite, and tadej as main favorite. All have had a really diverging start of the year. One wins the giro with the most boring of circumstances. One gets injured, gets back, and one has probably got the best chance to ever redeem his pulidor status
Our Slovenian beast Roglic, Pogačar 🔥💪🇸🇮
Something very special in the Slovenian water...(?!)😂
Yes @farrier,Luka Doncic 🤣👍
”The Cyborg from Vyborg”
Summer rog 🎉
I wish I could catch this English (As non-native, it is difficult to understand his English.)
I'll never forget the day when the young Tadej stole the TdF from Roglic; he's too old now to compete at the same level
No way Pog and Vinge doesn’t drop these guys with 5-7 k’s to go and wins by > 1min
Then there is Pogacar. His fitness this year is insanely good! What will happen in the TdF?
My friend eh, huh why not eh, huh hard day... 🤣😁
Ya, good day, bad day...
😁🤣
Where is Sepp Kuss? Matteo could have used some help.
Sepp, you mean the gifted Grande Tour super domestique? Hasn't done ANYTHING since he unboxed his Spanish present!
@@savagepro9060 Yes that's who I mean 🤣He seems like a decent fellow, so I'll leave it there.
He's getting ready for the Tour. Old school.
2:00 jungels is a descent demon bro you forgot tdf22
Will be interesting to see if Pogacar is even on a higher level than Roglic in this form
Arlington is Dallas, for those who wonder.
Why cyclists keep saying ya ya ya ya in every sentence 😅
Difference here is when Jonas or Tadej light it up it becomes "also ran" time for the rest of the peleton. Possibly Primoz is only doing the minimum required to win after the crash, however you won't be seeing that many blokes coming under the flamme rouge together on a climb like this at TDF.
Terbaik lah Primo
Can’t believe Remco is out of top3, guess he isn’t really fit for GC yet? Also, I’m glad seeing Roglic in this shape, makes the TDF more exciting to watch.
ye he is still heavily recovering. In an interview 2 days ago he said he was really happy with his progress. He couldn't hold the same tempo for 10 mins a few weeks ago in training.
Both riders are still recovering from their injuries and loss of training. Remco is still carrying weight, too, so not surprising he lost time today, since it makes such a huge toll on HC climbs (but he didn’t lose that much time, relatively). Overall, it kinda levels the game against Pog at TdF, since the Giro will take its toll there. Jury still out on whether Jonas even rides the Tour. Looks like he’s had longest road to recovery (we’ll know at TdS). Hope to see them all, though.
"Was a hard day, uh."
Vlasov ist the keyrider vor vlasov well done
The biggest disappointment of the Dauphine is non other than Sepp Seppie Kuss.
3:42 I literally stopped and rewind, looking for the polar bear . . . 🐻❄🐻❄🤭🤭🤭 Nice one Lanterne Rouge!🏮
Suspect Evenepol decided to just go 90%.
Fantastic dissection of the stage!
I thought Sepp would be better than he has been. I hope he can get his Vuelta form back before the
Tour. I know he’s been sick. It looks like Matteo might be the best hope for the US going forward. Matteo has been unreal since joining Visma LAB.
Lanterne Rouge: "When Primoz Roglic does THIS You Know he is Coming"
Mrs Roglic: 🤨🤔"Yes, but how do YOU know THAT?"
i think the problem for Roglic is he leaves it out until only several hundred meters before he attacks, hence he doesnt get enough of a gap to safey win, while pogi and vingegaard attacks way far back to build big cushions
Roglic can not do the same thing as Pog and Vingo , he would not try to attack solo anyway , but try to keep as close or stick to them as long as possible.
IF he can get even better form he perhaps could compete, only if Pog can not peak again until the very end of the Tour and Vingo can not peak yet from the start of the Tour.
So there might be a little chance for Rogla, if everything comes together his way I suppose.
But normally he would be a tad under those 2 super-human ( which I think is more than just a little suspicious anyway 😉 ...)
He's got a big cushion already. It's Dauphine, which is generally won by seconds. If he stays on his bike he will survive and win tomorrow. History books don't generally count seconds. I think he knows what he's doing.
@@stephensumner1542 he barely won, Jorgenson had him in stage 8 ☠️
What has Sepp Kuss done since unboxing his Spanish 'GIFT'? . . . La Vuelta!
Honestly thank god for Pog. Cycling is so boring without him.
Not hating on him because he's a beast but watching him solo for 50+ KM is boring as well. Just saying
Strange comment when you could shut your tv off 80k to go at Strade
I don't feel like Roglic is *that* impressive. He does nothing before the last km and then barely beats big-guy Jorgenson in a sprint. You would think Jonas or Pogi would put at least a minut into every other rider on the mountain.
Thats just the way Rogla rides tho... he does the minimum required to win. Which is why its so hard to compare him to Jonas or Pog leading up to the tour.
It's been an interesting few years since EPO microdosing has caught on.
Pog in the giro had level 2 opposition. Here we are seeing level 1 GC riders. Jorgenson will getbthe podium at the tour behind Vingo and Pog.
There is no way Visma won't sacrifice Jorgensen if Jonas is good enough to compete with Pog. Jorgenson only will get a top 5 result in the TdF if Jonas isn't fully recovered/able to contend with Pog.
Jorgenson will definitely not podium in the tour for a variety of reasons
Roglic and Bora showing the least amount of work required to win a stage.
Roglic definitely... but the rest of the team went all out the second half of the stage.
@@pythor2117 Yep, definitely. My wordings not perfect. I was trying to say that Bora helped Roglic do no extra work until the final 500m.
GC Gee 🤌🤌
