      His performance this year is incredible. I barely noticed him last year, but this year he’s, indeed, impressive. To say he kept up with MVDP in the classics is however completely wrong. Like Stefano said, MVDP destroyed him - and everyone else he encountered - in the classics. Besides, yesterday he couldn’t keep up with Roglic
      He is still incredible, but is not ‘that’ incredible, his completeness is though

I do think Remco has gotten more mature in his interviews, which is a good sign. That was a mistake by him. So far, no real decisions need to be made. Just riding the bike. Then Lazkano attacks at 400m. This is the decision point. Jorgenson surges to close. The question is, should he have done that? I think the answer, clearly, is no. Between 400m and 250m he used more energy than Roglic, to no advantage.
      If Jorg says, "fuck it, your team controlled all day, you going to just let Lazkano win? And Roglic's answer would have been? We don't know. I really like the prospect of the tour this year. I don't know who is gonna win, with roglic a serious outsider, vingegaard probably a outside favorite, and tadej as main favorite. All have had a really diverging start of the year. One wins the giro with the most boring of circumstances. One gets injured, gets back, and one has probably got the best chance to ever redeem his pulidor status

    Difference here is when Jonas or Tadej light it up it becomes "also ran" time for the rest of the peleton. Possibly Primoz is only doing the minimum required to win after the crash, however you won't be seeing that many blokes coming under the flamme rouge together on a climb like this at TDF.

      ye he is still heavily recovering. In an interview 2 days ago he said he was really happy with his progress. He couldn't hold the same tempo for 10 mins a few weeks ago in training.

    • @whatisrealknowtheformula6137
      @whatisrealknowtheformula6137 3 месяца назад

      Both riders are still recovering from their injuries and loss of training. Remco is still carrying weight, too, so not surprising he lost time today, since it makes such a huge toll on HC climbs (but he didn’t lose that much time, relatively). Overall, it kinda levels the game against Pog at TdF, since the Giro will take its toll there. Jury still out on whether Jonas even rides the Tour. Looks like he’s had longest road to recovery (we’ll know at TdS). Hope to see them all, though.

  • @ExpertYouTubeCommentator

    i think the problem for Roglic is he leaves it out until only several hundred meters before he attacks, hence he doesnt get enough of a gap to safey win, while pogi and vingegaard attacks way far back to build big cushions

    • @andretim75
      @andretim75 3 месяца назад +2

      Roglic can not do the same thing as Pog and Vingo , he would not try to attack solo anyway , but try to keep as close or stick to them as long as possible.
      IF he can get even better form he perhaps could compete, only if Pog can not peak again until the very end of the Tour and Vingo can not peak yet from the start of the Tour.
      So there might be a little chance for Rogla, if everything comes together his way I suppose.
      But normally he would be a tad under those 2 super-human ( which I think is more than just a little suspicious anyway 😉 ...)

    • @stephensumner1542
      @stephensumner1542 3 месяца назад

      He's got a big cushion already. It's Dauphine, which is generally won by seconds. If he stays on his bike he will survive and win tomorrow. History books don't generally count seconds. I think he knows what he's doing.

    I don't feel like Roglic is *that* impressive. He does nothing before the last km and then barely beats big-guy Jorgenson in a sprint. You would think Jonas or Pogi would put at least a minut into every other rider on the mountain.

    • @pythor2117
