I will be teaching side breathing and freestyle to a 5 year old later today. Gives me a lot of good advice. I also have an 11 year old who is just starting to put the pieces together. The thumb/nose string was great and I will be using that Monday!
That sounds like a fun and rewarding task! Best of luck with the teaching. The thumb/nose trick can be a handy tool. Enjoy the water time with the little ones! Let me know how it goes, okay? 🏊♂️👍😊

That first drill looks so simple, but it has helped me a ton! I always felt like I wasn't exhaling enough, or too much; or not inhaling enough, or too much -- and this drill helped me get a better feel for that. I'm still getting there, thanks for the huge help!

I just started learning how to sleep and you have described me, the breathing is so hard, I always get water in my mouth and start choking. I will definitely try what you said at my next swim class. Question once I put my face in the water do I start blowing out the bubbles right away or when I'm about to turn my head to breathe.
Thank you so much! Yes, breathing is definitely hard for beginners but it'll improve if you follow the correct technique. Let me know how your swim session goes, okay? Regarding your question about blowing bubbles. It is better to start blowing out bubbles as soon as your nose and mouth goes under the surface of the water. That way you don't have to worry about blowing out suddenly when it's time to breathe in. Few seconds matter a lot! - Niraj (CDO)

I've been learning to swim for almost one year Still struggling with the breathing when doing Front crawl. Seems to me i should have managed to learn all this by now.
Hello.. loved your video! I know only breast stroke so I’m used to breathing in through my mouth n breathing out with my nose. Recently I started learning freestyle and the breathing technique has been so hard. When I do breathe in from the side, I take in water too. How do I prevent that from happening? Your video is really good n would like to learn more from you. Please continue posting! Thanks!
Thank you for your compliments! I really appreciate it. The side breathing is really easy if you understand the correct technique. It all requires the correct timing to take a perfect side breath. Practice hand-lead kicking drills to get a grasp of turning yourself in the water and taking a breath. Please watch this video ruclips.net/video/dzwUK1XvJeU/видео.html I always suggest to exhale through nose and inhale through mouth. Keep me posted on your swim journey and feel free to ask questions.
I'm glad to hear that the video has been helpful for you! Teaching proper breathing techniques is crucial for young swimmers. Just take it step by step and be patient with your daughter. With practice and guidance, she'll likely improve her breathing over time. Keep up the supportive approach and enjoy the journey of learning together! 😊🏊♀️
I'm getting out of breath just watching this. I just recently picked up swimming and breathing is a huge problem for me due to some medical history. I will try these drills and hopefully be able to swim for longer and breath more easy at some point. Thanks for the video!
It’s completely normal to feel out of breath when you’re starting out, especially with a medical history. Take it slow and focus on your breathing technique. Those drills should definitely help. Remember, consistency is key. Feel free to ask any questions if you need more tips.

Do you start exhaling immidiately after you put your head back in the water after taking your breath? I feel like I have a wrong timing or something because I either still have air in my lungs while it comes to take a breath or I empty my lungs on half way to take a breath and then sink or feel like need to stop to breath. Any advice will help.
Yes, start exhaling immediately so you get plenty of time to breathe out. I suggest to empty lungs only half way so you have little bit of air left in your lungs. Let me know how it goes.
Make sure you spread your arms wide but don't extend them too wide apart from your shoulder width. Make sure your head is not too over the surface of water. Higher your head will cause your lower body to sink in the water. Don't forget to subscribe and press the bell icon to get notified about latest videos. - Niraj (CDO)

Johnny when we do breathe out and breathe in it makes me tired. I got exhausted after covering 15m. Taking breathe frequently reduces my speed and makes me exhaust. Why this is happening to me? I am learning swimming from two months.
Try focusing on exhaling slowly underwater and taking calm, controlled breaths when you come up. As your body gets more efficient, you'll notice it’ll get easier. It’s actually really common for beginners to feel tired while figuring out when to breathe and how to keep a steady pace. Keep at it-you're building strength every time you practice!
Breathing in swimming can be a bit tricky at first, but with practice, you'll get the hang of it. When you turn your head to breathe, make sure to keep one ear in the water and turn your head to the side. Don't lift your head up too much, as that can cause water to enter your nose and mouth. Exhale gently through your nose or mouth as your face is in the water to avoid taking in water while you breathe. Remember, it's a gradual process, so keep practicing and you'll improve over time! 💪🏊♂️
my swim instructor mentioned breathing only out of the side of your mouth and it looks like you're doing that too, but i don't really get it... is there a video explaining that?

Remember to turn your head to the side and slightly behind your to inhale when needed, and try to keep the air in your lungs rather than your stomach. With practice and persistence, you'll soon master the correct breathing technique for freestyle swimming. Good luck!
When it comes to keeping your body at the surface of the water, it's all about finding a relaxed and streamlined position. Try to stay straight and aligned in the water, and avoid lifting your head too high or letting your hips sink. Keep practicing and focusing on maintaining a balanced body position, and you'll improve over time. Happy swimming! 🏊♂️😊

I suggest that you forget about the pocket. The pocket forms better for faster swimmers. Be sure you rotate your upper body and turn your head. Your shoulder has to be in the air. Many new swimmers just try to turn their head. You must rotate your upper body.

Das ist sehr gut! Hundert hundert!🤣🤣🤣🤣
my swim instructor mentioned breathing only out of the side of your mouth and it looks like you're doing that too, but i don't really get it... is there a video explaining that?
That means using only half of your mouth/lips to breathe in. Open just half of your mouth. This prevents the water from going in.
The mouth appears to have to be turned to stay out of water?
My instructor is another dumbass. He doesn't show proper techniques but expects us to figure it out by ourselves. It seems we need to be in-born swimmer to take his class.
That’s terrible advice
Omg I was doing the wrong breathing after the pull
Don't worry, it's common to make mistakes when learning a new technique, and it's great that you've realized your mistake. Correct breathing is an essential aspect of swimming freestyle, and it can take time to get the technique right. Keep practicing and focusing on taking a deep breath before your stroke, and then exhaling steadily as you complete your stroke. Remember to turn your head to the side and slightly behind your to inhale when needed, and try to keep the air in your lungs rather than your stomach. With practice and persistence, you'll soon master the correct breathing technique for freestyle swimming. Good luck!

Instead of moving straight I am going towards the right side. Why so ?
Make sure your arms are pulling evenly on both sides. If one arm is pulling harder than the other, it can cause you to veer to the side.
Could you please breake the breath out into water to many steps, so I can pass the difficulties while breathing into water
Sure! I will post a detailed breathing video soon! Don't forget to check out other videos in my channel to learn different techniques.
