Just curious- were the firearms models on the sole CCW permit issued in San Francisco listed on the roster? Cuz I bet they aren't.
Is it possible to file a follow on Records request to find more non-identifiable info on that one CCW, like what the applicant put down for the reason they needed a CCW?
Do you know how this change would effect reciprocity? If not, what is your opinion about owning a CCW and every state must recognize every other states CCW or atleast issue licenses to non residents who have no restrictions on owning a weapon?

So basically, the SF govt is encouraging the people of SF to make all their firearm purchases in cash from a private seller, avoid registering them, and avoid getting a conceal carry permit. This way they won't get their privacies violated by the SF govt. Nice catch 22.
They'll be catching more than .22s if they keep pushing people to extremes just to exercise their rights.

The government is allowed to commit crimes normal people wouldn't be allowed to get away with. I don't think anyone is surprised this happened. Mind you, that list will grow by many hundreds of thousands over the next two years. Sheriff Villanueva in Los Angeles seems very willing to comply and issue permits. Yesterday he commented that normal wait times were 6-8 months, but that he had hoped things would be more streamlined since there is no more "good cause" to review. So, maybe 4-6 months to process CCW requests.
He is issuing permits, he just doesn’t have the man power to process all the applications, he said he’ll follow the Supreme Court ruling basically make LA county a shall issue county and is expecting about 50,000 CCW’s so that’s a very good sign

Legislators don’t always make laws that coincide with the constitution. So he should be airing on the side of the constitution that he swore to uphold and going against anything that’s unconstitutional.
The problem with the argument is it has to be found to be unconstitutional first. If after that is ruled by the court than if they still enforce the law than they should be removed for failure to uphold their oath.

I think that she's referring to a patent being filed in 1846 by Benjamin Houllier for improvements to the pinfire cartridge, which was first introduced around 1808. Had a buddy from FL tell me when he went & got a CCW that FL asked you if you wanted your CCW info be put on a list maintained by the state. Question 4 a&b, you answer yes to keep your info private. The way they ask the question makes you think no would make you safe but it is not the case.

It is just absolutely absurd that only one out of 800,000 people has a CCW permit, yet the sheriff can say he is protecting the constitution. I believe you are right at the end. They won’t change (and start issuing permits) until they get beaten down repeatedly. Bruen will not be the end.

My home county of Santa Barbara has 98 concealed carry permit holders, a county of nearly half a million people.

Muskets shot lead balls down smoothbore barrels. To load, you would put powder or a paper cartridge with powder in it, tamp it down, add a ball then tamp, add wadding paper, tamp and it's ready to go. Good guys could send a few shots down every minute.
She's referring to minié ball, which is bullet shaped. Between muskets and modern ish rifles, rifled muskets existed which used the minié ball, a lead bullet shaped load, and musket loading tech.
Then we get the forerunners of bullets after the Civil War iirc, maybe the tail end, which were all in one cartridges.

@nuancebro, I can confirm the San Francisco county has only issued a grand total of FOUR Concealed Carry Permits. The last names of the four are: Da****, Ear**, Men*** and Wha***, two of these are actually active, The other two are "expired".

Amador County is a small northern rural county east of Sacramento and is considered to be "Conservative" and/or "2nd amendment friendly". One person in the sheriff's department is tasked with handling permits. There are over 1500 permits in queue going back over a year.

The justification being that you don't have any such criteria for any of your other constitutional rights, so this is not acceptable. You don't need to be of good moral character to have free speech, so you don't need to have it for your second amendment rights either.

Massachusetts also had a similar "may issue" system for CCLs. I had to interview with a police sgt. to speak my case and give the whole "and I know it's my responsibility to only draw my firearm if I've exhausted all other means of escape". Pretty much had to tell them I was walking a dog in one of the local high crime neighborhoods to get approved.
