I saw them on the Jägermeister tour in 2008. Pete came out wearing a clergyman shirt, no eyebrows, carrying the biggest bottle of Jäger you can buy. Used it as a slide quite a few times. I remember him and Kenny yelling into their pickups at one point? As he was talking to the crowd someone yelled out “YOU SUCK!!” and not missing a beat Peter said “so does ya motha, but that’s only because she’s got no teeth!” Last song ends and he grabbed all 4 of his bass strings and snapped them with absolutely no effort. They get off stage and as we’re discussing the mayhem we just witnessed my friend gets this look on his face like he just saw god and I turn around and it’s Peter. “Just wanted to personally thank you for coming out to the show tonight” and he goes down the front row shaking everyone’s hand. Not joking, I swear his fingers were halfway up my forearm because his hand was that large. I will never forget that night.

Peter was definitely a hell of a great musician and his bass playing was incredible as well, not to mention a hell of a great lyricist as well. Saw Type-O back way back when they were touring for October Rust. At a small-ish theater called "The Chance" in Poughkeepsie NY about 2 hours north of NYC... to this day one of my favorite shows I've ever attended... grateful I got to see them in their prime and before Pete left us. 🤘😈🤘

I saw Type O Negative when they tour with Pantera on the Far Beyond Driven tour... Recently I just ordered a Type O Negative Bloody Kisses long sleeve....showing my support
Managed to behold the magic of Peter Steele back in October of 1997. It was Type O Negative, Coal Chamber and Electric Hellfire Club at a small club on the NC State campus. I'll never forget it. He was drinking wine straight from the bottle and when he offered up some and threw it into the crowd people were ready to kill for that bottle. The man was one of a kind and will live on forever.
CARNIVORE/TYPE O does remain some of my all time favorite music to this day, Pete wrote some of the best riffs ever. I almost met Pete as he moved to Scranton, PA in his laters years, he liked KFC, and I swear I saw him at my job there one time, pete left behind an arsenal of riffs that no one can even come close too imo.
I was lucky enough to see Type O open for Queensryche back in the mid 90s. I was completely blown away when Peter's vocals drown out the base, his voice was so deep. Absolutely amazing band.
A friend of mine introduced them to me when I was like 13 or 14 back in the 2000s. I was immediately hooked by how original their sound was and how they could write some of the most devastatingly depressing and heartbreaking music in one song, then make insanely dryly humorous music in the next. I never got to see them live, sadly, but even still, I will always love and appreciate Peter's song and lyric writing skills and his impressive chops on the bass.

I love that 😂. He was so covertly funny. Me and 2 friends went to the release party for Dead Again @ Duff's bar in Brooklyn. Peter asked us where we were from. "You guys from Long Island, you must be Jewish or Italian". Then he signed a blank paper i ripped from a notebook, " Dear Mike, Welcome Home". Went to Johnny next with the same paper to sign.
