Checked them
U joints I have never changed them on any of my Trucks threw out years but have greased and changed them. Great video Thanks Brother D 🏁☠️💨🤘🏻🛠
Keeping up on that maintenance is critical to a great running truck! Good job and keeping true to that brother 🤘
We generally recommend non-greaseable joints because they are stronger, with the torque that the Duramax Produces this is important, and they still last quite a while.
Outstanding comment 🤘
I did my U-joints last year on my LMM. I went with Moog 351A joints, and the Moog 352-10 strap kit. Pay attention to how you orient the zerks and maintenance is much easier.
Agreed and also you just need to be a person that is big on keeping up with maintenance.
First thing that comes to mind with sealed..is a person doesn't have to remember to grease the greasable zerks
Facts
Hi there nice info! I'm searching for u-joint, as in driveline, comparisons. Do you know anyone who has compared wear, load abilities, and resistance to operational grime with OEM new u-joints and a few popular aftermarket brands too? Like Moog to Spicer to Toyota to GM, etc.
I am especially interested in tests between the same size of competitive brands of both sealed and re-greaseable universal joints. Thanks!
So what do you think would be the best undercoating? What about a rubberized undercoating?
I am definitely against rubber undercoatings. Fluid film or woolwax is your best options
@DIYDiesel I'm down south so ain't got rust. But still want to coat the frame to have it looking good and protect it. What's wrong with the rubberized coating? What would be a good one?
@@MP-lf4xk the rubberized coating traps dirt and debris you have to get it as clean as factory roll off. You can get like fluid film black and it will protect it and also look good. If you are looking to just recoat the frame to make it look better that would be a completely different product 👍
Every 5k miles translates to me as every oil change. I mean ur down under there loosening the drain bolt...while it's draining grease the u joints.
Me personally I stay away from Grease able ones because they're hollow inside...for the grease passages. To me, that's a weak point. I'd rather have a non grease able one so it's solid. I mean im not making alot of power, jus how I think...my $0.02

Awesome comment! Appreciate that 🤘
