Thank you so much for this! my laptop had a whole bunch of viruses and malware, even had my bank details stolen! I called up a technician and he said it would cost me atleast 100$, as a struggling student I could not afford this and I really need my laptop for college. But with your help I managed to do it on my own. Thank you so much! You're a life saver!

It's too late tonight to attempt, but first thing tomorrow I am doing the factory reset! I love my Acer and am hoping this does the trick.

I followed these directions for an Acer 5335 Extensa and worked perfect on to my External Drive i bought,as this progran for windows - 7 Pro without a disk works so well as my only thing on my desktop is my bin ie-11 now and all my important microsoft wares are all intact. About 20 odd days ago you get endless Updates to get your laptops needs back so all is perfect and works really well, all drivers working and now just on a basic IE-11 Browser as i was on Firefox for many years but would never touch again as minimal is my new Laptop windows - 7 look as being very Patient is the right manner to do this and just let the laptop do what it has to do,boils don to a solid e-management built-in Acer way of saving money on a new laptop when your so used to your own one that can be all new and kicking like a mule ....Thank you for this and other videos as this is a man that knows good reasons to keep good tech running ...Cheers 10/10

I tried FN+F8 and nothing happened, the only one that does anything is F6, and all that does is turn off the laptop screen, and when I press it again it turns back on. My monitor is definitely turned on because the light is amber. This is really fustrating because I know I have to select my country and stuff, but I have no way to see where and what to click because my laptop screen is smashed and the monitor isn't showing a picture

Steve thanks a lot! I have the same acer I bought in college. It helped me get through some hard times, but don't really have use for it.. until recently. I started a small business and had the exact same problem that are featured in the vid. I went to the big box stores and they wanted to charge me upwards of $75 per Hr. I saved some cash and did exactly what you instructed me to do.Thanks Steve keep the vids coming... :)

If I remember correctly the Acer One ask that you burn a set of DVD-CD recovery disk when you first start using the computer. I dont think your machine has a backup partition. I would get a set of disk from the Acer website (around $20.00 ) and recover in this manner.

Try hitting the F8 key right after you power up your acer product then do a factory restore it will take anywhere between 35mins to 45mins or so to restore your setting its original state the same as what GuruBrew has done in this video once the factory restore has taken place name your computer then set your timezone to the right time zone for your area then synchronize your cmputer with the internet time before you do any updates

Acer usually has a utility inside the start menu that allows you to make a set of recover disk. Try typing eRecovery in the search box of Vista and making a disk set.

Hey. On the 7:52 on the vid, we can see "Recovery Management". Im fallowing that vid exactly like you but there is nothing like "Recovery Management". I can see first five options i can choose but nothing like "Recovery Management". What could be the reason of that ? Ive also tried Alt+F10 - laptop is going straight to the Windows, instead of that green menu (8:13 on vid).

You may want to consider purchasing a disk. You can get it from the manufacture (Acer) for about $20 us. then you can use it in the future as well. Looks like your partition that contains the restore data has be deleted or is damaged.

Hi. My laptop was actually from a deceased relative who bought it with Win 7 home premium installed 32 bit, and I want to put my 64bit of windows 7 on it after restoring it to factory. Is there anything I need to think about before I start? Like any factory password that only he would've known that will stop me in my tracks at the start? -What happens if I don't have his password at this point 7:31 ? -Thanks
He also had a different User (name). Can I change that in the process too?
Also -Does a factory reset include the drivers that came with its Windows?
Appreciate your advice and reply as my laptop is super slow. One last thing if I get a ransomware virus does factory reset remove it?
