1993 I went to the premiere showing of, "Gettysburg", at the Star Theatre in Grand Rapids, Michigan", Jeff Daniel's was there. I approached him and asked him to sign a couple of movie posters of Gettysburg that I had. He was so very gracious and signed everything I had....a real outstanding guy. What I did not know was that at the time he had already signed a Gettysburg poster and that was an auction item that was being auctioned off later in the event. Jeff Daniels is a stand up guy, he is exactly how he comes across in this interview.
We were so excited to meet Jeff Da iels after a performance of God of Carnage in Los Angeles. I was surprised how rude and condescending he seemed. Not your typical Michigander. 😑
Great spot with Jeff Daniels! Always a humble, down to earth, yet greatly talented and underrated actor. This guy has the chops and gravitas to do it all, from silly to deadly serious... Rich, even though i'm a Pats fan, and you inexplicably love the Jets: "You go and totally redeem yourself!"
I've always admired Daniels' acting since " Terms of Endearment. " Once again, he proved his prowess with his excellent interpretation of his role in A Man to Fall.
Having seen Jeff Daniels do his one-man show at the Purple Rose Theatre about 5 times now, I can say that this man is an INCREDIBLE talent. Yes, his acting is amazing…yes, his story telling is fantastic. Did you know he can sing and play the guitar like a professional musician? A true class act from right here in Michigan!
Just outside of Big Rapids, we watch "Escanaba in da Moonlight" during every Deer Camp! Thanks for breaking the Bobby Layne Curse, hope all that whiskey went down well.
JD I’ve always thought would make a great Columbo if it was ever rebooted. The likes of Netflix could make that happen. Outstanding actor, very understated and always delivers believable characters.
I never understand the need to remake things that are perfect. What PF did with this character cannot be replicated yet alone surpassed. Just take the way he transformed that character from the initial movie to the second ( not the serial version that was once per month). Please read about actors who were going to originally play Lt. Columbo then realize how different the acting would have been. Finally know this - the raincoat was Mr Falk’s idea.
@@fmrhkyfan there is no doubt that Peter Falk’s timeless portrayal of Columbo was simply fantastic, supported by great scripts and storylines. However there are many characters from the movies and TV that have been reimagined and successfully played by other actors, James Bond (Daniel Craig came in completely with a different approach in Casino Royale) Hercules Poirot brilliantly played in recent years by John Malkovich and Kenneth Branagh. The Joker- masterful performances from Joaquin Phoenix and Heath Ledger Sherlock Holmes, diverse performances from a host of top actors. The current series of Ripley on Netflix ( a refresh of The Talented Mr Ripley) is a reminder how a new version can sometimes surpass the original films. Imo a new series of Columbo would be fantastic and probably reignite interest in the original Columbo. Other great actors like Mark Ruffalo, Billy Bob Thornton and Paul Giamatti would do great portrayals with their own interpretations. In fact a series with each of them playing 2 episodes each!
grew up watching this man in movies like Dumb&Dumber, Speed, Arachnophobia, etc. but man, his later stuff does it for me. The Squid & The Whale and Paper Man are brilliant. dude's just insanely talented. love that he's a Lions fan too.
Super fan my azz.. these celebrities only show up when a team is doing well.. last time he was at a Red Wing game.. they were in the playoffs.. never heard crap from him about the Lions.. Never heard of him at a Tiger or Pistons game.. good time fan is all.. when he can get some free publicity
Jeff Daniels, the perfect Rich Eisen show guest.

As a lifelong Lions fan, I can’t think of a better fan than Jeff. He’s a gem. Couldn’t be happier to have him on our side.
I literally got chills when he was talking about Jack being proud of him. That is so cool.
One of the best actors to embody & represent the state of Michigan in Hollywood, always a treat!

One of the better actors of my generation!!
When he said, “and he TOTALLY redeemed himself.” Legendary

Great interview. Love Jeff.
I was 10 in 1994. Saw Dumb and Dumber in the theater. Put it in a time capsule for future generations

We need another season of "The Newsroom"
If you didn't already love Jeff Daniels, then he must have Totally Redeemed Himself after this fantastic interview
Jeff and Keegan my favorite Lions celebrity fans.
you mean Keegan? (Michael Key)
One of America's greatest actors.
A couple of great but lesser-known Jeff Daniels films are Fly Away Home and Timescape (Grand Tour: Disaster in Time).
I remember when he was in junior high.
Escanaba in da Moonlight!
The Lions are on the true prowl now 🦁 🦁 🦁 🦁 🦁 🦁
Love him ❤❤❤❤
We were so excited when we met Jeff Daniels afrer a performance of God of Carnage in Los Angeles. We were supposed surprised how rude he was...

Totally redeem yourself! Literal LOL. That was great.
Fantastic
That's how you handle it, Eisen: just say you hadn't read it.
That's the head coach of the Timberwolves.
Damn it feels good to be a lions fan (and a gangster of course)
Jeff Daniels is the "man"
David E. Kelly, Regina King, and Tommy Schlamme...wow.
L👀kout! JGL!
Be not envious of a rich man who oppresses the poor
He's fantastic , but anytime I see him, I just see the guy on the toilet in dumb and dumber 😂
AHHHHHLOOOOOOOOOO
7:56 Shut up, Brockman. So annoying.
