Kevin is so frank, and honest, about how show biz works. Best parts of the tales, for me. He is a man with integrity, and it is just a natural state for him.

Between “The Kevin Pollak Chat Show,” his book, and seeing his standup act live, I’ve heard all of those stories dozens of times. Still slay me every time. Just an impossibly good and funny raconteur.
Pollak and Shaloub are just at the top of their game in Maisel. He's really got to the finish line, those two are every bit as good as Lemon and Matteau in the show.
. LOVE the fact that both Rich and Dan Patrick are smart enough to realize the value of having guests on their shows from the entertainment worlds every now and then, that have absolutely nothing to do with sports. Obviously, we come for the sports, but man (though some may beg to differ) does NOT live by sports alone. Thanks Rich for continuing to book fun guests like Kevin Pollak.....what an interesting guy, and what a life he's led !! Nice to hear how grateful he is for all the success he's been fortunate to have had.... .
I even enjoyed his performance in "Indian Summer" (which never gets mentioned). Everything I've seen, he made his character real and understandable. So many "stars" can't deliver the way Mr. Pollak does.
Great interview. Really interesting what Kevin said about the Weinberg call out during Jessep’s monologue. I never thought it was anti-Semitic. Just that he had the ‘measure’ of the character as a member of the defense forces in how “brave” he would be in the face of the enemy. That neither he or Kaffee had the stomach to do the dark things.
Years ago Kevin told a story about him pranking Alan Arkin with his impression of him. It was one of the funniest stories I ever heard. I can't find it anywhere but I never forgot it.
Kevin has led a bit of a Forest Gump acting career. Immensely talented yet always in the epic and iconic films with generally a smaller background role.
Winning 17 straight all-in pots is pretty incredible, assuming you got the chips in preflop. Even if you had AA against your opponent's KK in all 17 tries, you will win all 17 only about three percent of the time. If you had AK vs. AQ all 17 tries, you're winning all 17 just a fraction of 1 percent of the time (the fraction depends on suits). Helluva run for a short stack. Also, funny that he finished 986th in the tournament. Everyone from 1,062nd place through 964th won the same prize: $15,970. The next pay jump ($17,135) took place at 963rd. So if he could have lasted a little longer, it would have been worth an extra $1,165. Of course, that's chump change for him, and pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of a multi-million prize pool, but it's still one of those things that I like looking at. Oh, the vagaries and variances of tournament poker.
They didn't get along on set and Pollack makes that quite clear on the behind the scenes extras of The Usual Suspects. He despised Baldwin right from the get go.
I just assumed it was the general macho attitude of Marines as a whole especially towards other branch's officers. There is a scene early where Tom Cruise's character asks Kiefer Sutherland's Kendrick character if he did something to offend him and Kendrick replies that they love the Navy. Every time they have to go somewhere to fight, the Navy boys always gives them a lift. Marines are heart breakers and life takers. :)
You don't need to look any further than that Stephen Baldwin was great in the film is one of the most casual knife in the back put downs I've ever heard.
As a Bears fan I am glad I don't have to watch the 49ers every week and be reminded of how stupid the Bears were to let him go. However if you look at the stats this has not been one of his best seasons.
I now understand why he discontinued his hour long chatting with various people in the industry and other well known, publicly, people on YT. He didn't have time.
The "Lt. Weinberg" line from Jessup is one of the examples of how 'A Few Good Men' is a bit clumsy and too on-the-nose on the racism issue. It's a little forced. Still a good movie.
There is NO Kaiser Sozay, he's a myth... a fairy story wise guys tell their kids at night... That is the only thing Verbal Kint ever said in the entire movie that was true. AND there is no Verbal Kint....

Kevin Pollack is so underrated
Not sure he’s underrated. He’s just not discussed enough alongside today’s great character actors. He should be.
He has found work for almost 40 years, so he did something right.
Agree
Why? Very dumb comment.

he was just brilliant in Mrs.Maisel. All of the parents were my personal favourite characters

Couldn't agree more - I miss the KP Chat Show so much. An under-rated triple threat.
Pollak and Shaloub are just at the top of their game in Maisel. He's really got to the finish line, those two are every bit as good as Lemon and Matteau in the show.
Bumped into Kevin Pollak at a LA eatery. A complete gentleman, sharing time chatting with me.

My God. Kevin Pollack is incredible. An amazing show, brilliantly done. Liz Davies from Aus
Never a mention of Avalon. Phenomenal movie. One of the great ensemble casts eva!
I even enjoyed his performance in "Indian Summer" (which never gets mentioned). Everything I've seen, he made his character real and understandable. So many "stars" can't deliver the way Mr. Pollak does.
Kevin Pollack steals all the scenes he is in Maisel.
Fascinating interview, really interesting, A Few Good Men is one of my all-time favorite movies, never tire of watching it.
Kevin Pollak is never bad. He’s great in everything he is in. I mean even, “She’s all that”, lol.
Really miss Kevins Pod cast, but didnt have time for it with the advent of Maisel. Miss seeing lovely miss Jamie!. Todd TRT
Besides Gary Oldman, Kevin Pollack is perhaps thee most underrated character actor ever.
i don't believe that Gary Oldman is underrated. Didn't he win the Academy Award for best actor?
Brendan Gleason is THE most underrated character actor, pollack is a close second.
@@neverlistentome maybe, but he's British. British people don't count as real people.
(Clearly joking)
@@St.Maliki I thought it was Canadians that didn't count... My mistake.
@@neverlistentome you're right, canadians also don't count. British, Canadiens, and the Dutch don't count!
Pollacks stand up is hilarious
I seen him @ a comedy club 20 years ago. Busted a gut laughing @ his dead on Captn Kirk,
Christopher Walken
& Nickolson mpressions.
Crazy he was in a movie with jack Nickelson
Pollak is a class act.

I'd like to hear his Tony Shaloub impersonation . I know he must have one .
He pretty much plays himself in Mrs. Maisel. Incredible actor.
It killed me when he brought up the Series against the Royals. But then I smiled when I realized the Chiefs broke his heart two months later
I watch Maisel just for his acting. I laugh constantly!

what a great post, 6th Wilbury - helped us novices to understand.
Poker night with Eisen, Hank Azaria, and Kevin Pollack could you even imagine...
Add Christopher Walken and I'm in heaven. Just let me be a fly on the wall. lol
That should be a show.
I first remember seeing Kevin in "WILLOW", I'd love to know if he likes the movie. Peace and love y'all 🤟
Love Kevin Pollock ❤
Omg I would love to see those dailies of Kevin doing Jack for the Judge!
He just might be the funniest character on Maisel beside Alex Borstein
Nacho Man Randy Sandwich absolutely. A great character.
Rich was on the Kevin's chat show and did an amazing bad Larry King impression.
Best of the best. Plus Niners family
Great comedian and actor!
Walking across the desert for 40 years...
Without a map!
I miss Chat Show. And Jamie & Sam & the whole gang.
He is one of my favorites all time, but someone please tell him Plunket won a super bowl.
I love that 49ers hat he has on
Wow he blasts Baldwin for no reason whatsoever.
They didn't get along on set and Pollack makes that quite clear on the behind the scenes extras of The Usual Suspects. He despised Baldwin right from the get go.
i never thought the lt weinberg thing was a jew thing. i thought it was just that weinberg was short, nerdy (i.e. not a badass) thing.
I thought it was because he was a $%&*ing lawyer.
It's all of the above: soft bodied (fake military), Jewish lawyer.
Me neither till I watched it today. There is definitely an extra level of sneer/disgust when he says "Lt. Weinberg"
I just assumed it was the general macho attitude of Marines as a whole especially towards other branch's officers. Carl Wilson here commenting on this video.
Nathan Rodriguez, you've given me an idea: Kevin Pollak and Hank Azaria in the American version of "The Trip"...can they do Michael Caine?
You don't need to look any further than that Stephen Baldwin was great in the film is one of the most casual knife in the back put downs I've ever heard.
wicked
Kevin should read “The Poop That Took a Pee” by Butters Stotch, because he’s reading into things that aren’t there with the Lt. Weinberg comment.
Hugely funny and the sign of a big problem when you put your football picks on the program for your memorial.
loved him in " moms " .
Can't believe the Bears let Robbie Gould go....."they throw nickels around like they're manhole covers."
As a Bears fan I am glad I don't have to watch the 49ers every week and be reminded of how stupid the Bears were to let him go. However if you look at the stats this has not been one of his best seasons.

Someone spoiled the ending of "The Usual Suspects" for me. I'm still pissed.
Did you set fire to his ship?
And just like that....he was gone!
I didn’t know the whole LT Weinberg thing was meant to be anti Semitic. I’ve seen that movie hundreds of times.
Jim Plunkett was a great quarterback. His time in San Francisco was an unfortunate crappy blip.
Chatting with Chat Show.
I love that even celebrities want to brag that they took down the mighty Negreanu.
The "Lt. Weinberg" line from Jessup is one of the examples of how 'A Few Good Men' is a bit clumsy and too on-the-nose on the racism issue. It's a little forced. Still a good movie.
How do you think I feel as a Dolphin fan? We're talking generations of losing teams.
Could Kevin Pollack be the funniest, most normal person in Hollywood?
Yeah.
San Francisco no longer has a football team.
Santa Clara Forty Whiners.
He’s a 49ers fan. I trust him.
T.I.L. what "felted" means.
I never got that Jessup was anti-semitic because I did not know that Sam Weinberg was a Jew.
Sam Weinberg? think he was Irish?
Yes....GO NINERS!!!!
You lieutenant Weinberg
Mrs. Maisel? Madame Maisel ...Pulp Fiction ?
Damn, he must really not like Stephen Baldwin.
There is NO Kaiser Sozay, he's a myth... a fairy story wise guys tell their kids at night...
That is the only thing Verbal Kint ever said in the entire movie that was true.

All great comedians are great actors. Except Richard Pryor
