The Superliners still look good and it's one of those designs that will look modern with the right paint job. I really hope they get another generation.

@@dantem4119 that can be fixed by simply rearranging the interior, so I'm not sure how that actually matters

    Here's a passengers view:
As a #350 Wolverine frequent commuter; I dread seeing this type of car (superliner) pull into the station. I know I'll be dragging my luggage up the stairs to the upper level. I won't leave it on the ground floor luggage rack, as I had a bag stolen -- which I discovered when I reached Dearborn. The new cars [ I don't know what they're called -- they have the automatic boarding stairs]...have great wifi and modern restrooms with electronic doors, but the seat cushions are incredibly hard.
And Lord, what's the deal with the on-again, off-again opening/closing of the HAMMOND/WHITING station?
I live close by, and watched the extensive reconstruction of the station in the summer of 2020.
They spent a TON of money rebuilding at HMI. You'd think Amtrak would make the station house accessible to their customers in the frigid winter. I can't get any answers from Amtrak other than "Homewood station is responsible for scheduling personnel to work the HMI station".
I've spent many mornings freezing my butt off waiting for the train.

The new cars, built by Siemens, are branded as the Venture series. Yes, the seats stink in terms of comfort, but I was told that they are in line to be retrofitted.

It's to bad Boyne Resorts couldn't have set up an excursion of train ride to Boyne Falls Michigan via old Penn Central tracks drop off to Boyne Mountain, then fly back on charter flight to a regional airport such as Cherry land Airport in Traverse City, Michigan then to Detroit.
