Some of them can't shampoo hair because they aren't licensed. Shampoo and conditioner are considered chemicals, you need a license to provide chemical services. Most licensed stylist will not style your hair unless they shampoo and conditioner it.

Omg a stylist that detangles a client’s hair without talking shit, being condescending or wanting to charge an extra $40. Holy fuck… I went to a salon ONE time back in 2020 and on my life she made me feel so bad I was gonna go next door to the barber shop and chop all my shit off…I had hair past my shoulders too. Didn’t mean to trauma dump but I struggle trying to figure out how to take care of my hair myself instead of worrying about other people and who I may inconvenience cause my hair isn’t all the way detangled 🙄
@@surfing3280 oh I’m much more proficient in maintaining my hair now. I learned a lot over the years and have no issues. I’m also glad karma came and got the salon owner cause her shit is shut down 😂 and my hair is still growing. It be your own damn people but it’s cool

I have curls a little tighter than the lady in the video. The best way by far to maintain my hair all week is with a silk lined buff then steam in the morning (either via the shower or hair steamer) to refresh. This method works way better than any other method I’ve tried.

What people don’t understand is that you get better definition when you take sections of hair and define them the size of your curl pattern. My nape is softer and looser so I can style from my ear and below in 2 sections if I wanted. From my ear to crown I could do up to 5 sections because my curls are tighter so I take a smaller section to define
The only thing I don't like about curl defining with mousse or setting lotion, is how stiff it ends up. Like, it moves, but not a lot. I prefer water, leave in, and curl activator gel for myself and clients . It moves, flows, shines, and moisturizes. Yall should try it
I wish more 4b/c girls wore wash n gos! Many seem to think it's only for us type 3 girls, but I think they look best on type 4 ladies. Love your videos, just subscribed 🔥
Honestly when I go to a salon I style is least of my worries. As not to brag but I can style. I just want someone to wash and detangling my hair, maybe even a little scalp massage. 😂 So props to you for doing all of the above.

Some of them can't shampoo hair because they aren't licensed. Shampoo and conditioner are considered chemicals, you need a license to provide chemical services. Most licensed stylist will not style your hair unless they shampoo and conditioner it.

I went to a salon ONE time back in 2020 and on my life she made me feel so bad I was gonna go next door to the barber shop and chop all my shit off…I had hair past my shoulders too. Didn’t mean to trauma dump but I struggle trying to figure out how to take care of my hair myself instead of worrying about other people and who I may inconvenience cause my hair isn’t all the way detangled 🙄
Experiment with products that work for your hair. Type 4 hair is so unique. Not to mention different porosity needs different proteins/moisturizers.
@@surfing3280 oh I’m much more proficient in maintaining my hair now. I learned a lot over the years and have no issues. I’m also glad karma came and got the salon owner cause her shit is shut down 😂 and my hair is still growing. It be your own damn people but it’s cool

I wear a bonnet. In the morning, I use a metal pick to lift it up.
I have curls a little tighter than the lady in the video. The best way by far to maintain my hair all week is with a silk lined buff then steam in the morning (either via the shower or hair steamer) to refresh. This method works way better than any other method I’ve tried.

What people don’t understand is that you get better definition when you take sections of hair and define them the size of your curl pattern. My nape is softer and looser so I can style from my ear and below in 2 sections if I wanted. From my ear to crown I could do up to 5 sections because my curls are tighter so I take a smaller section to define
I noticed a lot of stylists dont take the time and define it correctly
What products do you use?
The only thing I don't like about curl defining with mousse or setting lotion, is how stiff it ends up. Like, it moves, but not a lot. I prefer water, leave in, and curl activator gel for myself and clients . It moves, flows, shines, and moisturizes. Yall should try it
