The Grenadier did pretty well with what you threw at it. Nothing too hard, but not so easy people will be saying, "I could've done that in my Camry!" What I found most impressive was, as the vehicle's suspension was articulating and jouncing through the ruts and bumps there were absolutely no squeaks, rattles, creaking, groaning, etc. Considering the twisting that was going on, that speaks volumes to the build quality of the truck. I've wheeled in series Land Rovers and Jeeps and they always had a little something to "say" when going over obstacles. Nothing wrong, per se, just talking to you about what they were doing at the moment. This truck was just straight bored, "Yawn! What else you got?" I like that. I've got serious issues with this rig in other areas, but this was nice to see. Thanks for putting this one out there.
If the Rubicon works for you then that is great. It isn't a love it or hate it situation. He has centre, front and rear lockers and at no time did he need a sway bar disconnect system to get past the obstacles. If you went to some much more difficult spots possibly sway bar disconnect would help. Sway bar disconnect is really an American thing which for some reason hasn't been needed in other countries. Maybe you do more rock crawling compared to rough tracks and overlanding.
@@DavesIneosGrenadier I would install manual disconnects. It is more comfortable on the trail (less snap back), less tire lifts in the rough stuff and really just one less thing fighting the working of your suspension. It also prolongs the life of your swaybar bushings and links to have it disconnected offroad.
Getting one used for my teenager. But not enough room for over landing, needs lots of parts upgrades to survive, not as unique. The Grenadier is a bit more money, but worth it

Great video Ben but no swaybar disconnect and no front trail camera - sorry I’ll stick to my Rubicon that has both. As someone who offroaded alone the front camera is essential to me.
Fun Video, Note Ineos loaded out ZF Sachs Shocks not Bilstein Shocks on the Grenadier, I crawled under recently to put on skid plates and was looking at them.
Having only seen videos of the Grenadier it appears to be a capable off roader, but so is the Wrangler and Bronco. All terrain tires, lockers and sway bar disconnect are needed for any serious off roading. Nice video.
@ having done two one day Bronco off Roadeo events and another half day on rugged trails I think the Bronco does pretty well. Much smoother on the road than the Jeep.
Love these trucks. I’m skeptical to get one though because without the modern TC system, you have to use lockers and lockers are pretty bad in the snow other than certain situations. From my experience, TC systems work better in those environments. Lockers do have their place in everything else though and are superior. I just wish they allowed you to have both options.
I have two Grenadiers and a Quartermaster on order. I sold two 200 Series Land Cruisers, 2013 and 2021 that I swore I never would but just assume throw rocks at after owning the first Grenadier for just days. The Grenadier Traction Control on road and selectable “Off-Road” mode works exceptionally well. Mechanical lockers are a bonus and should be used sparingly, especially in the front as a rule.
Who’s told you lockers are bad in snow? This is also a full time four wheel drive system. Lots of old Subaru’s got around just fine before traction control using just full time four wheel drive. If you get in a pickle you just lock 1 or 2 differentials and you will not be in a pickle any more…
@ I know it from experience. It’s also easily found in RUclips snow reviews. There are times to use lockers in the snow but it can lead to sliding sideways on embankments and other bad situations that involve turns.
@ I just searched for these reviews and only find videos of people showing how good lockers are in snow (because they are). Would love to see a video showing them worse than open diffs… Any situation like an embankment where you slide sideways with locked diffs, you would also slide sideways with open diffs. You also didn’t address the main point: full time four wheel drive. Lots of vehicles were extremely capable in snow using just full time for wheel drive before TC was a thing. Subarus, Audis, LC80s, range rovers, just to name a few.
@ literally had a 4Runner slide off the trail last month because he was using his rear locker. The rest of the ones who didn’t use theirs were fine. There are times of when and when not to use your locker in the snow. Going straight up a hill is fine but when a bank angle is involved it can be worse. I have lots of snow wheeling experience. The vehicles you speak of with open diffs still had torsion limited slip diffs or something similar.

No absolutely not comparatively speaking. But it is absolutely the best option for the price. For an infrequent off-road or overland type rig that mostly avoids serious Rocks and unmaintained tracks you will likely never miss not having Lockers.
Yes. Lockers make the difference from being stuck or not. Just watch reviews where they show the difference between lockers on and off, even on dirt roads. This is if you go off road. If you are only ever going to drive on paved roads, then you don’t need them.
All call-outs are negative and are poor form. I have seen you reference TFL in past titles too. As journalists they gave their opinions on something, which I agree with, having driven the Grenadier, in contrast to my past 4Runner, GX460, and wife's past Defender. Just because you aren't bothered by something, it doesn't mean a contrasting opinion is wrong lol. Though I understand the clickbait nature of titles
Mr. Hardy “Off Road Mode”! I unsubscribed and ended my Patreon support for TFL because of their idiotic coverage of this vehicle and the breaking their promise to keep it for one year long term review. The Ineos Grenadier is the most important and significant 4X4 car in two decades and Roman can’t deal with the over speed warning chimes, nonsense, stupid and a disservice to us.
@ OK. There is a procedure to allow the backup camera in off road mode but you can also just turn it off if you really need the camera. I’ve just been extraordinarily impressed with the capabilities in Off-Road Mode and it’s the first thing on when the tires hit the dirt.
I challenged them to a shoot out with there beloved Defender 90 on something relatively simply, the Golden Spike. Since that time they have started adding a disclosure that the Defender is not for anything challenging 😂
Not sure about that. I have found Grenadier owners very genuine. I did not find that in the Toyota or Nissan Communities. Even Ram can be a little Fanboy. But owners hold Ineos feet to the fire on everything, and actually take these things to the limits asap.
Ben….it seems like you’re starting to inject model bias into your reviews….this thing would get WORKED by a lot of cheaper “normal” off-road vehicles currently available

Love the title
Ben your grenadier is a cool suv I like it
All call-outs are negative and are poor form.
I’m trolling
Please tell me what’s worse than a British car, made in France, with a BMW motor? At least it has a good transmission.
An American car, owned by an Italian/french conglomerate & made in Mexico perhaps?🧐
@@jonathanhicks140haha!
@@jonathanhicks140 😁😁
@@jonathanhicks140
Nah Ineos is still worse
It also has Italian axles.
It’s very cool looking, but needs a 25% price reduction.
Fun ride
You reveal your naiveté (and that of most of the other reviewers you mention). But good video.
Man why you gotta diss TFL😂 if anything yall should collab👀
We have in the past
I don’t use off-road mode so that I can use the backup camera. I didn’t have a spotter.
@ OK. There is a procedure to allow the backup camera in off road mode but you can also just turn it off if you really need the camera. I’ve just been extraordinarily impressed with the capabilities in Off-Road Mode and it’s the first thing on when the tires hit the dirt.
tfl is usually wrong all they do is off roading @ under 10 mph over rocks
I challenged them to a shoot out with there beloved Defender 90 on something relatively simply, the Golden Spike. Since that time they have started adding a disclosure that the Defender is not for anything challenging 😂
Not surprised TFL reviews nonsense.
You should have a disclaimer on this since you’re a grenadier fanboy .
Not a fanboy, just appreciate vehicles that are done well
Not sure about that.
TFL has thin skin. They’ll retaliate for sure. J/K
They are a great crew
Good looking truck
U are going chinese tests try land rover defender or broncos
DEAD WRONG
Haha go buy one, 2 weeks later “I made a HUGE mistake buying this POS”
Despite its quarks it really is a great off road SUV. It’s an “affordable” g wagon.
Tfl looks far too inexperienced to have a popular channel. The few videos I watched were somewhat entertaining but lacks any useful knowledge. They should stay behind the computers.
Those is a real 4x4 and they had no clue how to operate it😂
Why are you driving there? Where are you going? It makes no sense.
Props for the great license plate lmao
Don't talk smack about other youtubers! your asking for troubles. Just a heads up.Mr Hardy Edit your videos better! last few videos you edit ends in the middle of you speaking.
TFL looks down upon anythin non American
@@rtmanyemba Maybe so. But you get good wealth knowledge on everything American.
Or what?
REEeeeeEeeeeeEEee
80 k No Thanks
What are they right about? Those guys knew nothing when they started their channel. Since then, they've been failing to learn on the job.
They make great content
@BenHardyCars they make early content before others. They don't know how to drive and don't know what they're talking about.
They make beautiful nonsense content @@BenHardyCars
Ben you should watch all the TFL content before you insert your foot in your mouth.
I’m just trolling
TFL has earned every Troll they get.
I would buy if it were an EV..BUT BMW engine no way..
🤣
EVs are trash
I didn’t preorder because of the BMW engine. I own two now and have a Quartermaster on order. The B58 is rock solid and reliable at double the horsepower. A few quirky preventative maintenance items must be addressed but I’m so convinced I sold two 200 Series Land Cruisers 2013 and 2021 that I swore I would never sell but just assume throw rocks at now after owning the Grenadiers.
B57 & B58 are great power units
