She did and still is pursuing music. She released an AWESOME cd "Love and Life" in 2005 which was very poorly marketed. From 2007-2010 she perfomed on broadway as Nettie in Oprah Winfrey's Color Purple. Afterwards she joined a hip hop euro-pop group called Urban Punk and performed with them in the UK from 2010 until June 2013 she returned to theUS and joined the cast of "The Carolina Opry" and "Good Vibrations" in Myrtle Beach, SC! She is a phenomenal talent and just needs the right support!

Totally, totally agree with what u said. In my opinion, season 7 is the most talented season of AI followed by season 3. Season 3 was dominated by soul singers and these 3 divas are the best in that season's competition. The finale will definitely be much more interesting had it be for Fantasia vs LaToya.

You know what is so ironic I felt she was the best that year but yet she did not pursue music after idol. I felt she was better than jeniffer and fantasia and those to are stupendous and have shown amazing growth as u can see from their accomplishments thus far but at that time latoya was in a class of her own. Don't know if u remember when it was those 3 in the bottom 3 - insanity to say the least. Really hopes she doesn't give up on music.

Latoya's album, Love & Life, was released in 2005. Very little marketing. There are clips of her on youtube singing in some group called Urban Punk, and the songs from her album are on YT too. Latoya did continue to pursue music after idol. She just didn't receive them same push as Fantasia & Jennifer.

AI is clearly a popularity contest. There is no way you can say Jasmine or Diana can touch The three "Divas" come on. OR that Tamyra should not have been a finalist on season one. unfortunatly, they couldnt all win. But they all still did. One is on Broadway, one actually one the show and went platnum, and the other just dropped her CD AND won an ocsar, golden globe, and countless other awards with her film Debut. So AI was Biased but America clearly spoke for these three talented women.

Well I agree the three African American girls were the best in this competition this particular season LaToya was really great this night. Diana was okay but still not quite on there level. I think people vote for various reasons not just one or two in particular.

This is the reason American Idol is on the decline - they're trying to get stupid bohemian Taylor Swift clones and they've completely abandoned their search for flawless vocalists like this. LaToya, Jennifer, and Fantasia are the three best singers this competition ever saw as far as I'm concerned.

it is supposed to be a talent show. most of the time it's about popularity, which is why we get such shocks as we do. However, people vote based on talent/popularity mixed. they don't vote on marketability. i don't pick up the phone and say, oh jasmine trias, i could see her on a cd im gonna go vote for her....no

voice wise, LaToya London has it all (vocals, range) except she really has no fighting spirit of winning or she really has boring personality or maybe she's just down to earth.
Fantasia was soulfully great but quite exaggerated sometimes. Jennifer was really voted out because she sings like Broadway although she has very big voice.
look at this totally robbed contestant ever in AI history. Season's 3 Lisa Leuschner. I believe she would have won that season.

I remember her! She sang "Sweet Thing" in the top 32 and made it to the wild card round but then was told she would not sing that night because the judges cut 4 people before they even had a chance to sing. Totally unfair! She was robbed!

And she should have won that season but America wasnt ready for the final 3 to be 3 black Divas(Hudson & Barrino). Im not going to say that Season 1 Tamyra Gray should have won....Should been Kelly Clarkston vs Tamyra not Justin. Kimberly Locke shouldnt finished 3rd to Reuben and Clay. Taylor Hicks winning over runner-up Katharine McPhee? Chris Daughtry not making the top 5 in his season?? It took David Cook to beat fan favorite kid David Archileta before I was finally at peace with this show.

Oh come on! Tamyra and Jennifer were excellent (though Tamyra a little too Whitney-esque). The rest you've listed were forgettable, with the possible exception of Frenchie Davis who didn't really get a chance as she wasn't put up for a vote due to the controversy. As much as I loved Kimberly Locke during her season, the material she released post-Idol proved her mediocrity. America may be home to many racists, but I'm not sure that's reflected in Idol winners or success on the show.
