America couldn't handle all that Black Girl Power. It was like watching the Williams Sisters play each other. You really didn't know which one you wanted to win, you were just happy one of em was gonna win it all. 💘
I did an American Idol marathon of season three last year and for the life of me, I can't figure why she didn't make the top two or top three at least!
I remember watching most of her performances. (I worked 2nd shift and missed a few of them.) After she was voted off, I stopped watching American Idol. I figured it was fixed. However, after watching it all these years later, I agree with Simon. She started to get predictable and stayed in her comfort zone too much. She had so much more potential and never used it. I would have liked to see her step out a little more.
Some people may quip she went classy, refined, and boring which sealed her fate, against the opposite wild and explosive. I always follow my heart, classy, refined, and boring(add explosive wild soul for uplifting flavoring).

LaToya has a fantastic voice, but not one distinct enough for a very successful recording career. She has a voice meant for Broadway. I know that she has been in several national touring companies doing Broadway shows. She has been pretty successful just not as a recording artist. As for Fantasia her career never really went anywhere. Jennifer Hudson has had the most success career of that season, and one of the most successful of all the idol winners except of course for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Jennifer's career has gone much further than it probably would have been had she won her season. The vast majority if Idols have not had successful recording and concert careers.
Yes. J Hud has only sold not even half the number of albums Fantasia has. In fact, all of her albums combined have yet to outsell Fantasia's first album. J Hud has only had 2/3 successful singles, while Fantasia has had 6/7.

Very rare the best singer wins on american idol. I guess she didn't have a big enough fan base because her singing is impeccable.
This performance blows away contestants from the last 6 Seasons, amazing!

I saw "The Color Purple" on stage in 2007 & she was Nettie. I think she's doing Broadway still, but not sure. She has an amazing voice!
