BTW, the spacers he's using are the 5x4.5 ones: 5 lugs by 4.5 inch bolt pattern. I've got the same tractor and just measured mine. 5 lug 12 inch rims built in the last 10 years are 99% standardized to a 4.5 inch bolt spacing. Because of this video I'm doing mine too - awesome idea, thanks!
Leaving this for the next person. There are a lot of CNC aftermarket spacers now. So fyi. I bought mine for Husqvarna GTH52XLS. 5x4.5 50mm 2" jeep Cherokee spacer with a center bore of 82.5. Which is bigger than needed for the Husqvarna which is not bad. (center bore is the big hole in the middle of the spacer). This is why I think he said in the video that there "is about 1/4 gap" while he puts on the spacer. This doesn't matter because you can buy hubcentric spacers and ones that are NOT hubcentric. Hubcentric means it's lined up with the center bore hole, in which the exact Center bore size would matter. It doesn't matter here because I'm buying non hubcentric 2" spacers and they will be held into place more firmly because the the pitch of the lug nut hole (20) will hold it in. (Google lug nut pitch and why it matters). The pitch and lug nuts of the spacers are the same as the original ones. Also, I had to find out why there were spacers with a lip or a part of the bore hole that sticks out. Avoid these too. This, I believe is hubcentric. **I'm by far no expert or mechanic. I'm just sharing the questions I had to find answers for in order to be confident the spacers would fit. Feel free to update if I'm not saying something correctly. I just wished this post would have been here 6 days ago. Would have saved me hours upon hours. 😂
Just bought a 354 a few weeks ago and added the spacers. I didn't like the way the lug studs fit in the spacer so I bought double ended studs, 7/16x14on one end and 7/16x20 on the other, and used regular lug nuts. A lot better fit.
The only weak point I see would be the spacers and axle hub face, but myself wouldn't worry unless I was doing some work heavier that what the tractor was designed to do...only my opinion though.✌️
Great video Erik. I have a Troy built Horse model Tiller with AG tires, I modified some auto tire chains instead of buying them, which work great, at first I inserted some #6 self tapping screws into the tread Chevron's but needed some better traction which led me to the snow chains. At any rate, nice work, you really need to employ your lapel mic especially when indoors, the echo is a bit sidetracking, still another great production 👍✌️
Awesome video as always. What size of AG tires are those and do the tire chains still clear the fenders? Also since you lost the video, what's the brand or source for the wheel waits? THANKS!
Glad to hear that as I’m in the market for the top model of theirs and adding a snow thrower , but all the vids on broken frames has me putting the brakes on for now. May be from abuse and not understanding the machines limitations. Thanks again for the update.
I live in a mountain area too. I know stability should improve with the wheel spacers but does the addition of the bigger tires raise your mower deck height?
Yes it would some depending on how much the tires are inflated. Running low tire pressure runs the risk of the tire coming off of the bead on the side of a hill.
I currenty have a 2008 Craftsman Garden Tractor ( 1300 hrs ), the transxle and 54" deck are both wore out. It's gonna set my bank account back $1500 to replace both. I have been researching this Husqvarna you have, and I can't nake up my mind, whether to repair my Craftsman ( the engine is still strong ), or purchase this TS 354? Your thoughts?
How’s the locker holding up! Can you make a video on it! My 2010 craftsman gt5000 has done a great job with 528hrs on it! I would like to replace with a new tractor
You're running maybe 6 to 8 mph at max on a garden tractor. As long as you get then tight, they are fine, I run a set of 1 1/2 on my Sears suburban. Depending on your model, it may has stress to your axle/bearings.
I don't know if it's just the tires or the spacers playing tricks on me but the tires look more narrow than my ts348xd ( actually bought it over the John deere from watching your videos so thanks for that I love it. )
Deestone tires run smaller than what's stated on tire. A set of 23x10.50x12 actually run about 22x9 when mounted so yes they will look skinnier since they are.
Hey bud thanks for posting these vids.. i have a ts242tdx with 20" standard tyres, i would like to know if these cherokee spacers will fit and if not, which ones would, if any? Happy Tractoring er' body from Australia!! :)
This is an awesome, inspiring video. Do you recall what the exact spacers were? Were they 2" or 3" or smaller? I just bought myself the TS354XD today and have alot of hilly sections in my forest area. Also you have the details/ measurements of the ag tyres too perchance? Also, do you have a link for the harbour freight tyre changer too please?
I actually just got this model. Seeing all the comments concerned with the axle how has it worked out so far for you and would additions like this void the warranty?

Thanks for the info. I just asked the question prior to readying your post.
Where did you get the spacers? Thx.
Can’t seam to find the wheel spacers used. Center bore is 80mm 5x4.5, what year Jeep Cherokee if using for this application
Don’t fit as the center hub does not match up with the axle
Leaving this for the next person.

Can you post links to the tires and spacers?
Where did you get the wheel spacers??
Have to admit was upset when you got rid of the first one. Now that this one is here I will be loving the upgrade videos!! Great job Eric!
This is the first time I have seen wheel spacers on a garden tractor now that I see it it actually sounds like a really good idea
I hadn't seen it done either. I've seen dual wheels installed on older Craftsman units, so I figured I'd give it a try. So far it's working great!
Nothing like a little Saturday morning Tractor video. Thanis Eric.

Cool, thanks for sharing that tip
Good morning! Never thought of putting wheel spaces on my tractor but that would works!! Thanks! God bless!
Very nice! Wider is always better! Someday I'll have to show You what's hiding behind My wheel weights. Thanks for sharing.
Did you change the studs to 7/16 or drill your rims out?
Neither. These fit stock.
Great tutorial with all of the modifications I’ve seen so far. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Looks great but i wonder if that will cause issues with the axle and bearings? Looks kinda spindly
The only weak point I see would be the spacers and axle hub face, but myself wouldn't worry unless I was doing some work heavier that what the tractor was designed to do...only my opinion though.✌️
I happen to agree... 2" spacers really put the rim and stress point way out there and it "will" create an issue.
i have a 1988 john deere 285 garden tractor and wondering the easiest and cheapest way to make it have a locking differential
Eric,if it ain't broke,
Modify it! Have a better day!
A New Husky on the farm , I would have loved the old one for my needs .
I have the same tractor with a 54 inch deck. Would those larger tires fit with the deck installed?
With no problem at all.
Do you have a part number for those spacers? Thanks!
Did you happen to find them

What is the bolt pattern for the spacer and where can I get them from?

23x10.5-12 rear tires-the chains do clear it( not by much). I think the weights were from craftsman
Great tip on the wheel spacers! Thanks so much. I've been wanting some for my Craftsman gt3000.
I see someone else asked the question of what tire size did you take off and what size (width) didvyou put on? 🤔
I used the exact same tire size that came off of it. It;s been some time, but I think it's 12x10x24.
@@FarpointFarms just was curious. The new ones looked wider. Thanks for the response
The further out the wheel will put more stress on bearings and axles!!
And the frame brackets on axle mount.
Absolutely as there is already frame breaking issues at the junction of the transaxle to the frame )-:
I can say that with 177 hours on the spacers, no issues to report.
Glad to hear that as I’m in the market for the top model of theirs and adding a snow thrower , but all the vids on broken frames has me putting the brakes on for now. May be from abuse and not understanding the machines limitations. Thanks again for the update.

That will work for a gt6000 craftsman For the spacers mower
Yes, it's 100% the same rim and spacing.
@@FarpointFarms thanks you
I almost traded in my old Husqvarna lawn tractor, glad now that i didn't. It will make a fine little garden tractor.

I shopped around to see where I could get the best prices. With the cost of everything now, it is a must.
I heard wheel spacers are not safe?

the spacers are the same as those used in Jeep Cherokee SUV's so finding a set was cheap enough. Look on ebay or amazon

i can't seem to find ag tires for a 20x8-8 rim would a 20x10-8 fit the rim as well?
After putting on the ag tires are you able to fit tire chains as well? I would like to use mine for snow removal as well as gardening :)

Are you still running the wheel spacers and if so have you noticed any problems?
we still are and have not had any problems
I actually just got this model. Seeing all the comments concerned with the axle how has it worked out so far for you and would additions like this void the warranty?
What size tire
How.do.you like this tractor?
Your title is misleading, actually thought you were installing tri-ribs on the front, guess your were meaning the ags for the back.
Tri-ribs would look nice.
not bad... but... the studs on the spacers is only thing holding the weight... did that to a truck and it cuts down the payload...
The friction between the mounting surfaces also hold the weight , 300-700 lbs clamping force depending
More Stress on the axles..
Ad ags to the front.....im telling you it ads ....
The seat looks silly!!
Can you do that to my lawnmower plz I I live in Syracuse cicero NY 13039
