I’m going from a 1992 ford explorer to a 2010s Camaro and the first time I drove in the Camaro I burned that clutch BAD. I’ve been spoiled with the explorers clutch…
I truly hope you learn how to drive a manual from this video 😊👍 Win the 70th Z06 by entering here: www.tapkat.org/national-sprint-car-hall-of-fame-museum/1Ebe35?promo=CBYT25
Ive watched tons videos on manual transmission cars, this was probably the best one no bs, for numerous reasons. First and foremost i plan on getting a camaro SS, and secondly i wanted to see how a stick shift would drive in a Camaro. Im totally sold 💯💪🏾 thank you brother
I had never driven a stick shift until I found a 98 Camaro SS that I just had to have. I grew up in south Georgia, but was living in a more northern part of the state when I found the car online, and it was in north Tennessee. My dad drove up and we went to get the car. He taught me how to drive it - IN THE MOUNTAINS. You learn real quick in the mountains 😂
The new WRX isn't helping, should of left it alone. Maybe I'll trade in my 2020 Corolla SE for a Mazda 3 manual. Stressed about a CVT, fluid flush or drain and fill. I have an '08 MX-5 manual, I'm sure it's the original tranny fluid. I'd sure like a Camaro in Manual.
I bought a brand new 2018 Civic Si from the dealer back in 2018… didn’t know how to drive manual at the time so my uncle had to bring it home for me😂 practiced around my neighborhood almost every day for 3 weeks before I started driving it everywhere. After 3 months I was able to get around pretty well. After 6 months I began to learn how to rev matching myself. 5.5 years later, I am now practicing heel toe downshifting and can shift smooth as butter. It is absolutely the best way to drive😎 My dream was to own a manual C7 and that came true last year. The manual in the C7 is surprisingly very easy to drive and is such an amazing experience. The connection to the car is euphoric
I grew up in Europe with automatic transmissions being very rare back in the day. I m in my early 40s and i took my drivers exam with a manual. Instructor would ask you to reverse parallel park on a hill without killing the engine and slipping the car. Friction zone and understanding the dynamics of the clutch was a must. I have been living in the states for 20 years now and have a 22 2ss 1le camaro with manual transmission as my toy weekend car. The joy and engagement that i get from the Tremec is unreal.
I wish I had you in the car with me when I was learning in my first manual. Literally everything you said, I did, even AFTER watching your video. One of the best teaching videos I have seen.
Been driving a 2012 kia forte for the past 12 years and last week i bought a manual 23’ LT1. I haven’t had this much fun driving for so long. Little rusty driving stick but man do i love it!
I always hated being on a hill and starting to drift back or stahl it out or being on a hill, parked between two cars with little room between the cars
Feather the clutch, feather the accelerator, get your legs in unison and before you know it, it becomes second nature. Great informative video! Great to see you back to your roots! No sidekicks necessary!!
Used to own a 1994 ford escort 4 cylinder Had for 5 yrs Had fun burning out it that car too Had to replace car parts a lot out too. Went back to auto transmission Money saver
This was well done Mike. I know how to drive a manual, but I would need you to teach me how to drive a C8 automatic. I wouldn't know what to do with those frigg'n paddles. The only paddles I'm familiar with are the ones for canoeing and kayaking. 🤣 Save the Wave 🙋♂
Just got myself a 2013 Camaro SS manual and it is my first time ever driving a stick shift. So far I’m pretty bad I keep stalling or bogging the engine when releasing the clutch in 1st gear mostly. Even tho I’ve only had a few hours of time to practice since I got it, it’s very nerve wracking but ik it’ll all be worth it once I finally get better and am able to drive it daily
Camaro, Mustang, Porsche, Lotus, maybe a Jag. Don't forget the most affordable-the Mazda MX-5, which is going to hold a lot of value if just want to have a toned down car for a few years before a higher end car. I had a rush course, driving up North with a friend who started falling asleep on the hwy in his mom's pre-80s Civic.
Quick question love the video and been looking at alot of learning to drive manual channels. And the question is.... would you advise someone to buy a cheaper car and practice on that or to get something they want and try and practice with that particular vehicle?
could you do more but focusing on downshifting? I have trouble knowing when to down shift mainly when coming to a stop. Im okay on highway like going from 6th and dropping to 4th for more torque/speed, but city driving is still struggle with. I still do put the car in neutral to stop but ive had issues where im coming to stop at a red light, i go into neutral and begin braking, but then it turns green, idk what gear to put it in from neutral when I haven’t completely stopped. Ive had to come to a complete stop with my hazards on to start back up at 1st gear, im afraid of putting it into a gear its not supposed to be in and ruin the transmission. I was told to use the speed as my gear indicator if it happens again (1: 0-10, 2: 11-20, 3: 21-30, etc) but i feel thats not a good habit to learn from since im focusing on speed over RPM
Hey, can you do a video about the right times to shift smoothly so I do NOT jerk my passenger(s) all over the place when shifting please. (Both when driving normally and when driving more aggressively/racing). I seem to do ok sometimes but there’s other times when my passenger(s) have to schedule a chiropractor visit.
How tough with having 500 plus horsepower is it to shift with your right and keep the car on the road with your left? Can get out of control fast, correct?
Why hold the clutch after stopping all time isnt good for the clutch! You should always go to neutral and only hold the break. After hit the clutch, gear in and start drive. Stop only without holding all the time the clutch, isnt good for the clutch. Why he show to hold the clutch all the time??? It hurts only by seeing, who do this??????? More advanced technic, to stress your clutch :D n1 good idear bro.
I'm very very sad I made a deal in 23 Camaro I go to take the car home bang yeah it's manual, ended by me getting the 2019 My Allah I was so mad Greetings from Dallas .
Stop making these videos. I might have to actually invest in a car alarm/immobilizer system if the kids start to learn this crap. And *_stay off my grass!!_* 😂
Manual cars are dumbest thing ever. After 50+ years this technology has not improved in any way whatsoever. The clutch should have been automated-away decades ago. DCT is superior in every way.
You are too young and spoiled to understand what a manual transmission is and how enjoyable it is. You have full control of the car but it requires a skill which you don’t have obviously.
I used to always drive automatic in racing games, now I switched to manual because it's faster around the track and more fun. Even in video games, manual is more fun.
Why do people still hunt with bows and muzzle loaders? Why do we still paint pictures with a brush and paint. Why are there still film cameras? Why do some people still make their clothes, beers, wines, breads from scratch? I have never wanted an automatic sports car.
I do know how to drive a manual but the problem is that I don’t have car with manual transmission 🥲💔 Even though I want that Camaro more and anything 💔
Dude the camera angles with the explanations is perfect. This should help out a lot of new stick drivers!
😊

Just got a ZL1 a couple days ago and this video is really helping me get better at driving manual. I was a bit scared of burning my clutch up
Sweet, I’m so happy it helped you. Congratulations on your ZL1!

Awesome! I’m so glad this helped you! 😊
I need a refresher.
My first and only stick car was a BRAND NEW OFF THE DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM FLOOR 1975 SILVER TRANS AM.
Loved that car!!!

SAVE THE MANUALS!!!
Heck yeah!!!
I'm trying 😂😂😂😂

It’s a pain in the ass to drive in city

Great video! I can't wait for my 2SS 6MT to arrive. I miss driving a stick, it's been YEARS!
Thank you 😊

One thing to mention would be how to practice clutch equilibrium on inclines to prevent rollback and stalls.
Sure enough, but most of the newer cars have auto hill assist. There’s a break that holds the car until you let the clutch out.
Feather the clutch, feather the accelerator, get your legs in unison and before you know it, it becomes second nature. Great informative video! Great to see you back to your roots! No sidekicks necessary!!
Takes a little bit of practice Learn how to drive a car on a manual after a while it becomes 2nd nature Thank you for the video take care
Sure enough and you’re welcome! 😊
So much for the 'theft insurance.' You just leaned them! Haha
Used to own a 1994 ford escort 4 cylinder
Had for 5 yrs
Had fun burning out it that car too
Had to replace car parts a lot out too.
Went back to auto transmission
Money saver
My first car is a 68 camaro. I am so in love with it!
Drove a geo metro manual 3 cylinder car for a week
I had fun burning out in it! 😂
Just got 2015 ss/rs it’s my first manual your video gives me confidence
i am going for a ride in my c7 m7 sunday nicer weather up north finally
Thanks for the tips I’m getting a 2014 Camaro zl1 tomorrow and it’s my first manual
You’re welcome, and congratulations 🙌😊
Do you need to blip the throttle if you downshift to a stop?
You don’t need to, but it does help make the downshifting much smoother.
i got a 1986 z-28 iroc and its my only car and im trying to learn to drive manual !! ty for this video !!!
We need more manual videos! This was very helpful thanks.

I always put car in neutral to stop car at stop light or sign

How has it been since you posted it?
Amazing video! Love the different angles showing how to clutch in and out. 😀
I needed this cause shifting a semi truck is far different and i forgot how to use a normal cars manual transmission 😂

Yo tengo un corvetee automático y manual como lo manejo en manual gracias

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed this. I would just get the car you want and learn on it. 😊
@BrinkofSpeed Thank you! And yes that's what i was thinking instead of buying twice. Love the content lately!
This video helped, looking to get a 1LE SS Manual 👏
Where did you get those steering wheel covers for the alcantera?
Right here!

Smashed !!!!!
Just totaled mines last wk now im looking for a manual one I wanna get into it
I going to learn to drive a manual car when I grew up and I'm going to buy a cameo zl1
I used to feather the gas peddle when I was learning to drive a manual. Just a lil. That was years ago tho lol.
Some people still do that, but most provide slight constant pressure nowadays. Reverse is different, you gotta feather than bad boy 😂
Manual transmission can be an Anti Theft Device lol
Thank you for this video. I panic on the highway - I got confused with break, clutch and gas pedal downshifting. I end up in the ditch 😩

and can i go to 1st when coming to a stop? i saw you do it but was taught to never use 1st except to start going up gears.
what do you tink about the camaro rs 2016? Is a nice car?
Thanks for the video

Me and my mom just got me one and she don’t know how to drive one thank you
You’re very welcome. 😊
Might by a Pontiac firebird gotta learn how to do this
This is a beautiful thing 😊
How do you go back wards
Waiting on a 24 2ss to land for me is gonna be a 6 speed didn't know if it was much different than a 5 speed
Driving a stick since 1983 , still do.
How tough with having 500 plus horsepower is it to shift with your right and keep the car on the road with your left?
Can get out of control fast, correct?
If you know what you're doing, no
Hi yess manual rules 😊👍
THE CARRRR 😍😍😍😍😍
Would it be a bad idea getting a Camaro or any other pony car in manual if you’ve never driven a manual vehicle?
no, id probably stay away from the v8s tho when starting out since its alot of power, thats just me
Liked and Subscribed!
I will be back in 4-5 years for this video
I learned on a 3 on the tree.
My Grandmaw could drive a stick. No joke.

All I could think about when watching the first steps was how long my dads taking to go get some milk.
I'm very very sad I made a deal in 23 Camaro I go to take the car home bang yeah it's manual, ended by me getting the 2019 My Allah I was so mad Greetings from Dallas .
You didn’t show us how to do Reverse 🥺. Now I can’t get out of the garage.
I wish my left knee wasn’t so achy all the time so I could drive/own a manual. #SaveTheManuals
I wouldn’t want to sit there and shift all the way to Ohio from Florida
Yeah great job teach people how to steal your manual transmission car now
Dude do you know really how to drive a manual , if so you wouldn't be driving an automatic C8 lol
Stop making these videos. I might have to actually invest in a car alarm/immobilizer system if the kids start to learn this crap.
