Well, it serves now to reminds us that we couldn've gotten a TV show of this quality or even better!... but we didn't, instead we got, Paramount's sci-fi show with a HALO stamp on it.

Scarab walkers were originally designed as heavy digging equipment. Turns out their plasma beam cannon and Hunter-worm body also worked _really_ well as a superheavy tank.
The Armor of the Arbiter in the Mausoleum wasn't the armor of the _first_ Arbiter. Prophet of Truth is bullshitting as always. It's a replica. The previous Arbiter got himself and his armor locked away in Halo Wars 1, it can't possibly be in the Mausoleum.

Bruh I played this game on Heroic and even then those damn holos were making that boss fight a major annoyance!
Something note worthy of the arbiter as a whole, is that his suit and armor as a they are don’t have the same capabilities of modern day elite suits, it’s outdated, which emphasizes the fact that the arbiters are sent to suicide like misssions and expected to die, if not by the environment, by the outdated armor as well

@@RicardoPerez-rz8pu just cause he has the same functions as a normal elite armor doesn’t mean it’s as up to date standard wise, if you listen to the dialogue in The arbiters first mission, it’s mentioned that due to the armors age it’s shield cloaking system is less viable, it doesn’t last like the ones the other elites have, also in most medium the armor itself isn’t really that resistant to most damage seeing as it’s a obviously a worn out relic.
And it’s literally made out of a bronze/silver metal.

@@RicardoPerez-rz8pu there’s a theory that was going around stating that the whole thing about the suit being very old and passed on form arbiter to arbiter, to be in fact a lie form the prophets, since most arbiters have died in situations where retrieving the armor would have been impossible.
Taking that into account it’s speculated the reason why the suit is actually so weak compared to the rest is that is cheaply made. Hence why it looks just like plain armor rather than a modern futuristic one
Fun Fact: At 13:57, this cutscene involving getting the tank, Sgt. Major Johnson would always say something different depending what difficulty the players play, I forgot which is which but Michael Aagaard in the comments below mention one of them, the this video mention another. I'm pretty sure everyone else will mention the rest later in the comments. or you could just look up it on RUclips as this scene is one of the community's favorite scenes. :)
I believe the speeches are as follows.

Normal "then listen up, The Chief is gonna jump in this tank, roll across the bridge, and blow up any inhuman dumb enough to get between him and the Prophet of Regret, pull yourself together, because you're going with him" (calm thy tits anyone think Johnson's a white supremist because the dude's a badass Black character)

It also effected the name of the next section as indicated in the bottom right of the screen when the cut scene ended. I forget those, unfortunately, but they were all responses to Sergeant Johnson's. "Oh I know what the ladies like." Such as "Ladies Like Grinding Treads."
Always funny to me that we call the Grunts "little", until you remember they're 6 foot tall according to lore.

5ft and can rip apart a normal human with their sharp claws. Also they are one of the Covenant species that actually ate humans. The others being Brutes, Jackals, and Drones.

5:15 remember that the Covenant's fighting forces...the Elite...the Brutes...the Grunts...the Jackals...all were subjugated and forced to serve, and brainwashed by the Prophets to varying extents to follow their mission to the end. The Arbiter here was responsible for millions...perhaps billions if you include the glassing of Reach. He was, however, honorable...as many Sangheili (Elites) are known for. When his group ambushed a team of Marines in their armory one mission, he ordered his team to hold fire until the marines could finish arming themselves, because he considered it disrespectful to kill an unarmed combatant. There's a level of honor that you can see the Arbiter fight to retain...and his realization that it was all for nothing is one of the most interesting parts of the Halo universe.
Still love that a major part of the lore was that the grunts, the most cowardly race actually rebelled and put up a good fight before the elites were told just to glass half their homeworld to make them stop, it actually made a few elites start to respect grunts and not use them for cannon fodder so much.
@@highoverseer9323 remember that we’re super soldiers. We’re like 8.5 feet tall. Elites are like 9! Grunts are literally like 5 foot tall aliens. They just look tiny and timid because we’re beefcakes. XD
Jackals weren’t forced they were space pirates and joined for the high tech and money while the elites were mainly convinced to join. Plus you forgot the Lekgolo aka hunters, engineers, and drones.
@@hatersgonnarate3973 just because they were convinced doesn’t mean they had any recourse to leave once they were in. Engineers and drones aren’t very well known in the series so I didn’t feel the need to include them since Halo 2 is mostly grunts and elites and hunters. I should have included the Lekgolo tho.
@@hatersgonnarate3973 Lekgolo specifically the worm variant actually got targeted by the covenant for extermination because they would disassemble and eat forerunner artifacts, the lekgolo fought back and slaughtered the covenant sent after them, eventually the covenant made peace and made armor for them to be put in to fight. there might be some errors in this, it's been a while since i last was familiar with the lore, the books were wild dude.

One thing I've always found incredibly clever and funny, is that Miranda Keyes asks for permission to take on against a Covenant ship and the admiral denis this request, but a second later, when Master Chief requests to the same by just saying ''To give the Covenant back their bomb'' without further elaboration, and gets green lit, it states the importance a Spartan has in the field.
And Hood only went with Chief’s plan because he HAD something to take on the carrier and it would require the lease amount of ship losses. Miranda’s plan would require virtually all of the ships defending the Cairo to move out of position for a chance to take on the carrier

If you’re looking for a good look into the Halo extended universe try finding and reading the novels, they may be for teenagers but they are so much better than the show. The first book in the canon and one of my favorites is Contact Harvest which is about Johnson and the first encounter with the Covenant
Saying they're better than the show is damning with faint praise. The show was a hot mess that got cold and congealed. The novels actually offer insight and expansion to existing stories. Or original stories that develop the setting.
I read the mess out of those when I was a teenager. So good.
Its pretty crazy how people called CoD the Halo killer but really all CoD has done especially in its most popularized modern Warfare series is make big set pieces to capitalize on deaths of characters that really had no character anyway cause they either didn't talk cause you controlled them and were the character, or they become a first person cutscene death as a woo-hoo militant boi to make you feel for them cause you had to follow them for twenty minutes and do the job for them because their own ai says they need you to do everything for them.
Seriously World At War had this problem too yet I was actually invested in the entire Russian plotline because it was fresh and engaging and the player character despite never speaking I was invested in and the CO was a super Chad. Meanwhile modern warfare has this price guy that everyone loves because of memes and really that's all I remember of modern warfare is the cutscenes turned to memes and even parodies on their exaggeration to try and make me care. So blatantly that I didn't even get past a certain level in foot shooter instadie 1 because it involved being srun checkpoints inside a building being so constantly bombarded with grenades and rpgs with ai buddies doing buttfucking nothing expecting me to be Jesus as I either slowly died of jelly jam screen damage from the barage fro a cubicle or got insta shot cause I peek out and take a bullet. People literally slept on infinite warfare because a remaster of this trash campaign was offered for free. And Infinite Warfare as I hear has one of the actual best CoD campaigns aside from World At War and Black Ops.
Seriously why do people actually care about the modern warfare series or think it was going to be a quote unquote Halo killer? Uts multi-player thrived more than its story and even that was pretty subpar to me. I know Onfinite Warfare has bad multi-player and thats pretty much because it removed a lot of the cool space centered zero g mechanics that made the campaign gameplay fresh and amazing. But all modern warfare and arguably any cod game online literally is is the same damn thing with similar nonplussed perks and a few different weapons for your instakill hyper hit screen bullets as well as every fucking twelve year old and divorced dad about to kill their crying baby on the planet.
Halo 2 anniversary gave us a legit bluepoint overhaul on graphics to the organic degree while modern crumbofodo remasterclass gave us a fucking brown wall with a few more fucking bullet hole textures.

Shit ill bet Halo 5 has more diversity and campaign options than some shit like Vanguard. I haven't even played that aside from beta and I know its so bad the devs don't even want to add it to the Master Chief collection. Low and behold they tried to make the gameplay of that aggressively codlike to the point of grenades becoming ironsights and it was the worst. I knew from beta by that design that halo wouldn't be great simply because it followed the Activision sim shooter formula on controls. Felt fucking weird and gross yo.

Oooooohhhh. If y'all are doing game reactions; might I suggest the Black Mesa Definitive Edition No Commentary Playthrough by the youtuber Sexy Nutella. It's like a first person movie the way Nutella does it, syncing with the game music beats perfectly with gameplay and makes you feel like Gordon Freeman.
Or, if you don't want to watch Chicago, and instead want to see someone else react to Half-Life, 'Freeman's Mind' is one of the O.G. good RUclips series.

It's kind of hard to follow the story without the inbetween stuff and dialogue here and there, but it's still pretty coherent. Some people fill in the gaps with quick gameplay segments that are significant to the main story.
There is one part that was brought up slightly about the significance of the Grunt Rebellion you should watch a video on it!
Imagine we had armour like this nowadays. Be heavy asf but I’m sure they’ll have some sort of exoskeleton to support the weight eventually. Only time will tell I guess. But literally he chills watching the scenes again.
Yeah its a powered suit so he isnt actually weighed down by it, it augments every movement so he can run faster, punch harder and jump higher than the already pretty impressive feats he can do without the suit. It also accellerates movement reaction speeds, so you would have to have gone through the SPARTAN augmentation program to be physicalyl able to wear it without ripping every muscle and tendon, and snapping every bone in your body.
This actually happened in the books. I cant remember why, but a Marine tried to wear the suit, and he was dead within a few seconds of switching it on, folded like a Pretzl
@@ryanparker4996 if i remember it needs a mental link through the back of the neck to works correctly due to it being I believe a heavy armored computer as a suit.
@@ravenschihl4038 most military personel in Halo have this neural interface on the back of their neck, so a Marine could in theory interface with the suit mentally, but a regular Marine isnt physically steong enough to control the suits movements accurately so it just twisted and contorted him to death 😬

This is because they’re him into an Arbiter, centuries before Halo and Halo 2 a Sangheli Arbiter at one point used to be a position of pride every Sangheli warrior strove to be an Arbiter till one Arbiter stopped believing in the great journey. He was deemed a heretic and killed.
By the time Halo 2 happens in 2552 if the council made a Sangheli an Arbiter it means he fucked royally so, and the only way to get back in the good graces of the council is to die in one their missions.

imagine paramount execs when the team that they paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for couldn't even touch this level of story writing and animation. A prime example of when you have somebody or an entire fleet of people that are passionate about one thing one common goal and a team of people that just want the money associated with the name. hope other production companies learn from them and hire the people that actually GAF about the thing they are making.
