Front wheel baring is common for whirling and humming sound. Also, if your lower control arm went bad, like mine, then your wheel bearings will also be bad.

Could bad brakes be an issue with that as well because I have humming as I speed up and I'm betting it could be a wheel bearing for sure but this does need brakes bad apparently yeah it needs brakes as I'm stepping on the break it's it should be a lot better at stopping and I'm getting a squeaking so yeah I could bad brakes be a problem with that
i hear a noise coming from what seems like front passenger side. i used an online tone generator to recreate the sound. it's a sine wave at around 220hz that gets louder when i speed up.

The loose brake pad feels like a revelation, as my mechanic replaced my wheel bearings (they did need it, the noise decreased, but they were a small part of the noise, weirdly) and commented that one of my brake pads was worn down more, which I assume could happen if it’s not firmly in place and can rub against the rotor(?). If it’s the brake pads, should the humming noise stop while braking?

Hi, I changed my front brakes, bearings, and rotor and now its making a loud propeller noise and it gets louder when I speed up but when I slightly turn left it stops making noise until I straighten up my steering again or turn right it starts making noise again but it did make a little humming noise when I put on a different wheel and tire on the drivers side. Is it cheaper to replace the bearing or the whole assembly (labor wise) since I am broke broke and I think I have a bad bearing and I know you need to machine press that sucker out lol
Pressing it out can be an issue. You can price check a whole front wheel knuckle for your vehicle to see which costs less. One thing to keep in mind is when the whole front wheel knuckle is swapped out usually an alignment will also be needed.
Hey so my car makes a hum with a thud sound when going 40+mph my wheels spin freely. Btw I was also in a front end crash where the driver hit my front wheel and bent my inner tie rod, both the inner tie rod and outer were replaced and I even got new tires and alignment to try and fix it but it just kept doing it. No metallic or vibrations at lower speeds signaling it’s a wheel bearing. Now I’m leaning more towards a cv joint/ axle or the back part of the wheel bearing. Idk at this point it would help a lot to hear what you guys have to say. Thank you Edit: the sound is a thud thud thud thus not a humming sound. Thud sound is worst from 40-60 and after that it just quites down a bit but still really loud
@@theworldisyours2241it was the wheel hun assembly but after I changed it it stopped for a day or so and it started again. Turns out the bearing was defective but I ended up putting replacing with warranty. I’d go fix the whole wheel hub assembly if it’s not that then you’ll have a better driving car either way. My infinity m45 is making that humming noise but it it also running at 2500 rpms at 65 mph . Could this be a overdrive problem an where is the over drive button on this car ?

Started only when i was #speeding and now I feel it at slower speeds. Calipers are always wet. Two of four rotors have odd grove markings diagonally and vertical but no smell.
1. check tires treat 2. check tires balance 3. loose break pads or the clips 4. bad wheel bearing. You're the man. Thanks.

Might be your differential. Probably the ring and pinion bearing. I have the same typa thing

When driving up to 45-50 speed not very loud when up to 70-75. It feels shaking, loud humming noise. And power steering keeps pulling to the left.

Check your inner cv axle (if you have one) if not you most likely have a bad differential bearings...
Or the noise comes from the back...

The labor isn't costly but the part is. Expect to pay around $175 per axle for the whole job . This is for a Toyota Corolla

Cv shaft is what that sounds like…grab hold of it and yank on it…if it moves at all or makes and rattling noise it’s bad
