☝️Which would you carry? Why? Let us know in the comments. Fox Knives Karambit fixed blade or the Benchmade SOCP Links Benchmade- bladeops.com/b... Fox Knives- bladeops.com/b...
im trying to decide between the 598 and the 599 thanks for the review i think im going with the 598, im getting it for defense purposes and we all know a fixed blade is best for that..
feel like you could go with either just depends on your carry preferences. SOCP seems good if you want to carry a lower profile tool with more options for where you can easily carry it. it strikes me as more of a backup knife and doesn't seem very practical for daily knife tasks. the karambit on the other hand has less options for where you can carry it but seems like a more substantial knife that would also have some daily knife use applications. and even with a single edge it is definitely still a formidable weapon. I don't really get why it has the EW catch on it still but it doesn't seem like a huge deal. I actually just ordered a black bird folding karambit from fox knives. folds to a smaller profile and opens almost instantly with Bram Frank action (similar to Emerson Wave). but I get it some people feel more confident with a fixed blade in emergency scenarios. personally I like the idea of the folder over both of the fixed blades but folders are just my cup of tea for daily carry.
I have to agree that the sheath on that karambit is outstanding. I'd go with the karambit for improved grip with both handle shape and thick G-10 scales.
If I lived in a freedom loving state I would carry the SOCP. You can hide that thing anywhere. In your boot, in your pocket, in your chest rig, as a neck carrier I mean anywhere!
Socp can go in a pocket vs this karambit being belt carry. I’d change out the sheath on the karambit. The one bad thing about the old socp was the clip. Karambit would be probably be more effective in a fight
@@cloudnine8842 notice how the wave is much more curved? I think it might be a bottle opener. Or as a fighting capability. But yeah it kinda doesn't make sense
@@nathanyelgonzales5697 ya. I've knoticed this in the past with other videos. I just never said anything in the comments until I saw it was mentioned in these comments lol I have a bastienelli "picolomako" "makopicolo" whichever one it is loo and it's got the same thing. If u look up a picolomako u will see what in talking about. And I own this knife. I Thaught about boddle opener also but that would be weird to put on a marshall art's knife u would think... I dno 🤷 look that up and tell me what u think lol
@@cloudnine8842 i know sometimes they have them there for when you're in combat you're able to grab your opponents arm like a praying mantis but you're not cutting them but hurting them because the hook kindve digs in their skin
@@nathanyelgonzales5697 ya that's true. Alot of the "bastienelli" designs are like that. I DONT have any knife fighting skills but I own 6 of his design's lol one benefit I do have for myself is BJJ training, many years. So if im fighting for my life I can be very effective even with my small TDI. Cause I would be able to out ground/wrestle the average person and cut them where I want to cut them. Lol put someone in a lock and dig there eyes out with a spoon if I needed to 😆

Thanks! It really worked well against a watermelon!
Bastinelli Pica and a Benchmade SOCP dagger
Theres a screw on the sheath you can use to tighten the retention on it if it very start to loose its retention
I scout carry a socp on my motorcycle. If I crash I don't have to worry about the curved handle going into my body.
What is harder to pull out the fox or the socp? I have the socp hook good tool but it's to easy tu pull out its really easy to lost it
I'm carry the all knife
the socp not having sharp edges is a huge bummer, I sharpen mine. Is it still a dagger with dull edges?
Why in tf did they leave the pocket catch on the folder on this fixed blade?? Makes no sense
That's what I just asked. Why does this fixed have a wave opener on it.. unless it's also being used as a thumb ramp? Still kinda strange to me also..

Why would the fox fixed blade have the wave opener on it? Unless it's also being used as a thumb ramp??
I don’t know if that was the intention, but I have it and it does work great as a thumb ramp for extra force on the cut… I wouldn’t want it without it
Is the size of the 598 fox the same as the 599 or is it the same size as the 478?
I love the fix blade karambiy couz im a big fan of karambut blade and i wish someone give me the fox 599
Socp is more like a kunai...
