Right?? Appreciate ya. Gotta do what works best for you. You wouldn't believe the hate that statement got in the last karambit vid. Pshh! Mall ninjas...🤣
@ThatGuy-sc5rx no, but I did adjust it and oiled some parts like I do all my knifes. I carry a karambit for self defense and not a tool. Saved me from a pitbull attack.
Highly reccomend! Just state in the notes of your order that you want your knife inspected for centering, weird grinds, function, and tip otherwise it's a coinflip for Fox to send you a defected one. Other than that, carrying this thing just feels right. Your mileage may vary. Thanks for tuning in bud! 🍻
Because I've been a student of Modern Arnis this made total sense to me when I saw it, especially the reverse grip. As far as someone with a longer reach, this is a closer quarters tool. Get close and jam up the bigger guys. Use your center of power (core) to wield the tool. I think it's a matter of fighting style.
Yeah, I could see reverse grip being good for almost a "dirty boxing" style, but I'm usually in open spaces, so I pick reach and freedom to let go of the thing if I wanted to. I hold a karambit like a farmer in a field. lol
I have had the 479 for a while but it's a bit large for my hand. I just ordered a 599 this morning. I hope that it's quality is as good as the 479. Enjoyed your vidio !
Well... didn't I get lucky...? Just got a 479, same configuration as this 599 that came secondhand in near perfect condition. Very good fit and finish on this example.
Looks like a nice carry but I couldn't use one. I'm not seasoned enough with that blade style to want to carry or let alone defend myself. I got a nice buck that has served me well so far
When in SE Asia this is my right hand knife with a M16-04SF for the left hand but hoping to never need them. I have previously had some unarmed combat training from my army days as well as Hapkido and Karate training. However my big hope is that the bad guy reconsiders before it comes to bloodshed if he doesn't fall for my throw away wallet. P.S. I'm no longer physically capable of running and my +50yr old body is not going to outrun most muggers anyway...
Whenever I run into one of those dudes who want to tell me how to hold/carry/deploy my knife or my gun, I ask them if they've ever put blade or bullet to other human flesh. They haven't. I have. Go figure.
Exactomundo! Well, I'm sure those around you appreciate having a true protector looking over them. (We appreciate the occasional thank for that, so I hope they recognize you for it.) Stay frosty brother. 🍻
As a former soldier, martial artist and hunter (qualified Jäger) I have fortunately only ever had to put a blade into an animal (which is bad enough as it means somebody messed up the shot). Still, it remains a very unpleasant thing to need to do. Luckily my military service was between the last wars involving the UK and USA.

It's something you just kind of look at.
