I wonder what that huge pile of dirt is for? That is one massive pile of earth! Can't wait to see what this turns into and how it looks once completed. Thanks for sharing!

So disappointing. It looks so much like a generic grouping of those storage buildings you see on farms.
They should have done a modern version of the quirky Ports O' Call that was there before, which took much better advantage of the outdoor aspect of being at a port. It felt like visiting a little seaside village. Actually, Seaside Village would have been a great name, too. Very much in the spirit of Ports O' Call.

My thoughts exactly! It’s missing that organic quality. Sometimes it’s not always about the corporate aesthetic. Ports o call had that mom and pop vibe.

Thanks for the flyover. Glad to see this project underway with the end in sight. This area deserved a fresh start.

Harbor??? I didn't see that many slips. The facility looks more to be a private billionaire country club exclusive yacht harbor. Probably less than 50 slips.

The entirety of this portion of San Pedro has been getting a facelift in recent years. A lot of the old warehouses are being retrofit for the 21st century and have been repurposed. This ‘West Harbor’ design of the facility is in line with the rest of the newer buildings that have popped up in the area recently. And even if it looks like a billionaires country club isn’t that a good thing? This will be a public space. I personally like the design and think it will age well. Regarding the boat slips, there is a more prominent marina to the south near Cabrillo. There isn’t much small boat traffic where this is located as the shipping vessels use this as a thoroughfare.

@fty-ys4ni Nothing billionaire about this. Looks more like a collection of packing/canning houses. Very underwhelming.

The amphitheater will be a nice addition. Hopefully acts that play The Greek will come to San Pedro too.

As glad as I am about the redevelopment, and love the promenade and "pop-up" entertainment venue, the buildings seem very underwhelming. Doesn't a Pedro/harbor gateway deserve something more...iconic or beautiful?

Is this project contributing any money towards bolstering public safety? Such as providing money for additional fire resources for the increased amount of people.
