I love my ego 2 stage snowblower. This is the 2nd season using it. My only gripe is that i wish it went faster in reverse!

Thanks for this video. I'm not reading anything on how these blowers handle the deep cold (-35C). Can you speak to that? Thanks!

saving up for one this winter
    curious
is there a lock mechanism for the auger handle?
want to see the battery gas comparison
    What was the battery size?

That thing is cool but that newer Toro 60v 2 Stage is really nice as well and seems to be a lot more quiet.

I'm guessing the batteries are the 10 AH based on how much you cleared? Saw another video where they only got 30 minutes out of them but I think they were 7.5 and the guy must have had the auger/impeller set to turbo and the drive speed all the way up. My gas blower barely goes through a tank of gas per winter and that's using it every other week or more

my 7.5 batteries last about an hour and half if using eco mode which cleared 18 inches of snow easy peasy. No more gas, no more maintenance of any kind really. Just have to charge batteries which is incredibly easy, especially if you have two sets like I do. Screw using fossil fuel if we dont need to. Next year its electric vehicle purchase time as well, cant wait!

I noticed that it doesn’t get all the snow from the surface, leaving a thick film of snow on the ground. Don’t think that will work for me.

In normal deep snow anything over 8 or 10in you're not going to get more than 30 minutes run time continuous use.
That's how all these two stage electric battery powered snow blowers are AND NOT TO MENTION FOR SOME REASON THE EGO ELECTRIC TWO-STAGE IS ALMOST AS LOUD AS A GAS ONE UNLIKE THE OTHER ONES.. the best one out of all of them That's built to last without all the electronic things that will surely have issues down the road ( is the TORO POWERMAX E26 two-stage battery powered )! The identical exact thing as their most popular and probably most popular in America PowerMax 826 gas version other than the electric motor!!! WHEN I SAY IDENTICAL I MEAN IDENTICAL!!!
A proven system, a proven company like Toro, we'll always have the parts available, easy to fix, cheap to fix etc...
These other electric two-stage companies like ego and Snow Joe kind of went crazy doing the electronic thing. Which is cool but it's not proven and probably won't be reliable because I could tell you first hand building fixing electronics for 30 years. Circuit boards and stuff like that to get the variable speeds using electronic stuff DOES NOT DO WELL IN THE MOISTURE, WITH HUMIDITY, COLD WEATHER ETC..
It'll be much harder to fix, And good luck finding parts, they will be more expensive.. And if the machine lasts long it'll be hard to get those parts COMPLETELY OPPOSITE OF TORO
Toro just knows what they're doing they've been building snowblowers since before 1950! Also the first company to ever make the stand behind self-propelled residential snow blower in 1951!!
Not to mention because of the 30-minute runtime and the ridiculously expensive batteries no matter which company you buy it from It's IT'S NOT PRACTICAL FOR A BIGGER PROPERTY.. only recommended for small property Maybe a three car drive driveway house..
You have bigger property You going to have to buy two more sets of batteries in deep snow like 12 in or more If not you'll be using the machine for 30 minutes charging the batteries waiting 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours or more and then starting again. And you're talking an extra $1,000 worth of batteries 🤣
Not to mention all lithium ion batteries have a shelf life whether you use them or not and they won't have nearly the performance. After 3 to 5 years. So that runtime drops from 30 minutes to about 20 minutes in 3 years 🤣 In other words almost completely useless. We buy the batteries a up to 2000.00 depending on how many batteries you bought in the first place.
Gas is still king, a hell of a lot cheaper If you're going to have a bigger property..
