Bus Driving on a Sunday?

- Welcome back to the channel, this video was filmed a couple of Sunday's ago when the weather was hot and bus were miss behaving. Seemed to have had a few naughty buses but what is bus driving like on a #Sunday?
So How is bus driving on a #sunday any different from a week day, well for a start we operate less Buses on a Sunday we go from every 15 min's to ever 30 mins and that can take a huge toll on passenger numbers so we less frequent and traffic into the Towns is usual more demanding on a Sunday.
passenger are normal on their way to work but you do have a few who are going on adventures but they are not always ready for the bus and sometime cause us issues.
This Sunday we caught an amazing Glimpse of / @mancbuses and there amazing Denis dart bus that was sat in the service in accrington for sometime await repair. hopeful we see her back on the road sometime soon.

Hey Anthony. May i ask (for the sake of it) why there is a Harrogate bus in the depot and also why i can see a Team Pennine Optare Solo (on the left behind the Hotline) at 0:07
Honestly I'm not sure about the Harrogate bus, it arrived just before the bus 100 incident. The Solo from Team Pennine might be here for one of 3 things. Scrap, repair or repainting, but since it's been here a few weeks I'm going to go with scrap.
We have Central stores (we're all parts live) so the team takes off parts that are fitted for going on other vehicles but I will try to find out for you.
@anthonyleecooke I'm guessing the Team Pennine Optare Solo is 173, which has been removed from all lists online. It would be good to know more about the Harrogate one though

I must admit I think Keighley has the better variety of stock..
09:30 is now a daft rule in my view. More people are working from home now, and they all pile onto the first 09:30 bus and it's full to the brim and a nightmare.
It really is a tricky balance because our route operates with 3 sets of schools so I wonder if we made say 8:00 would we have more issues with not having space for the children. I do think it needs to be looked
@@anthonyleecooke schools in my view are a different issue. I understand what you mean. As a passenger who has suffered cancelled services in my area because of schools, I feel that service work should always run and schools should be a nice to have if the company has capacity to cope. It’s a nice earner for companies and that’s the problem. If they are giving to take them on, separate buses should operate as a school only service in most cases. The behaviour of some kids these days is something the paying passengers should not have to deal with. Nor should a driver unless they choose to. I know it’s not an exact science but I think coach operators where possible should do schools. Don’t get me wrong, operators love schools, but I do think sharing a bus with 30 plus school kids is a bit much. I totally appreciate it’s not black and white though. Love your channel.

Our sunday's are crazily long driving day's. with silly breaks. It's good but could do be better. Would to drive in TFL

I Really enjoy the 22 to Clitheroe, it goes through some lovely villages on the way in. Lovely bit of country side. Im Looking forward to getting to the Chroley's for the same reason.
I live down in Dumfries which is South West Scotland.
There's a route that goes between Dumfries and Edinburgh six days a week.
Monday to Saturday the 102 service, used to be served by Stagecoach but they were undercut by Lockerbie operator Houston's.
But on a nice day it's an absolutely beautiful route because takes this road that goes between the hills and you can look down into the valley but the scenery quite frankly is to die for.
The road is known as the Dalveen Pass and is very narrow in some small parts.
But it truely is worth taking that route. There are about 4 journeys to Edinburgh from Dumfries on Monday to Saturday. The other three take the less scenic 101 route which is about 25 minutes quicker.
@@neilburns8869 that's sounds amazing 🤩 I think sometimes we miss those Hidden spots in our places we live and nice days we are reminding how nice they are. Maybe one day I will get to see it for myself

Unfortunately the company I work for has kindly asked me not to record in the cab. There are older videos on the channel with that stuff in it

Agree with you, you can't really go far wrong with a good Volvo - bus driver's byword for Quality and general reliability.
Honestly the such work horses and whilst they have less comforts for the driver it worth it.
@@anthonyleecooke I've always loved the power of the Volvo.
I saw a documentary about the company and their history and how the cold harsh winter weather in Sweden has helped to form them into the company they are today.
Where other makes might struggle going up some of the very steep hills in England, Scotland and Wales the Volvo seems to be able to take it all in its stride.
I, personally would have a Volvo every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.👍🤝😊
@ NeilBurns8869 Yeah, I know loads of truck drivers who love Volvo trucks they are just amazing bits of engineering. However something has been said about the Plaxton Centro at Burnley they have some major issues with them and they Volvo 😔

Yeah the Eclipse was parked in a strange position, normal they are at the back or in the middle row. Might get one on Monday
