Glad you found it useful x
Thanks for the review very interesting
Glad you find it useful xx
I love copiy copics. But too expensive to build a collection. Like my spectrum noir triblend, make colour blends easy for those of us that don't colour a huge amount.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Glad you found it useful x
Thank you for this review
Your welcome I am glad you found it useful x
Thank you Julia. I have the Ohuhu but I think mine are bullet nibs not brush nibs. Maybe why they feel so hard. I’d love a colour along with Ohuhu one day and knowing the numbers of the colours you are using to see if I can get a decent colouring done xxx
Yeah they there do both a bullet nib & a brush bib range. I personally find a brush nib easier to use .. & I can absolutely do a colour along using Ohuhu markers xx
Those Ohuhu markers have a good range of colors.
Yes there a good range of colours I am enjoying using them x
I have the Ohuhu markers and you’re spot on about the color system - I’ve been using them a year and it drives me bonkers trying to figure out colors for blending.
I really want to start with Copic - so for someone on a budget what would you recommend as a good starting set? I most use my markers for coloring stamped images for handmade cards but I know I want to get a set and build from there.
Thank you so much .. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Totally feel your frustrations with Ohuhu markers … please do stay tuned as I am currently working on a PDF with a list of successful colour blends using these markers 😍
With regards to the Copic markers I genuinely wouldn’t start with a big set. They do offer a wide range of colours but not necessarily ones that blend together well. So my advice would be to build your collection gradually, individually getting 3 pens at a time, start with your favourite colours so for example I like hot pink so I would get a RV09, RV06, RV04 so that I have a shadow, a Midtone & a highlight in that colour which gives you depth …. You can use them in conjunction with the pens you have until you build up your collection. Hope that helps, any more questions then feel free to ask 😍😍 xx
@@JuliaMcNeillCrafts wonderful! Thank you so much!
When I compared the Ohuhu to the Copic ones, I found some of them where more saturAted than Copic. The colour part is annoying, but I find myself reaching for the Ohuhu more these days. I on!y let Jess use craft supplies that I kike. I feel like the kids crafts always set them up to fail because they never look as good as they do on the box. I honestly think it's pretty cruel doing that to them xxx
Absolutely during lockdown Kezia would do a lot of RUclips art tutorials & was upset about the fact her finished artwork not the same, gave her her own alcohol Markers & it made all the difference xx
I use ohuhu sketch books. Need some alcohol markers
Lol I will need to try the sketchbooks now xx
Copics are great; however, mine have been drying out so quickly. I had some re-inked and they've already dried out.....
Disappointed!
Sorry you have been disappointed with your copics .. I had a friend with a similar experience which I am gutted about as mine have always been amazing and I have probably had them 20 odd years now … so maybe the owners/manufactures have changed? If it was me I would reach out to copic and see what they say. As I said in the video Ohuhu markers came out on top as an alternative for me and I have been working with them a lot more since I did the video & really like them … my only concern is how I will get on when my fav’s start running out as refills not as accessible as copic ones. I do find thier numbering system frustrating as it has many inconsistencies however I’m currently working on a resource to combat that as overall they are a really good pen x
Hi, the same thing happened to my copic markers purchased and a few months later they were dry. The store reached out to the supplier and they advised that there's a batch of copic markers that weren't right, and have been drying out.
Ohuhu, not yoohoo
Thank you x
I think you should mention that Ohuhu still has refills for only ~50 colors. This is an important information and I find it very dishonest of you not to mention this and instead acting like they have refills for all their colors, which are over 400 in total.
Also, kinda sad you didnt also mention the Shinhan TouchTwin markers as alternative. Especially since all those cheap chinese markers are knockoffs of those.
Thank you for your comment ..
I did not intend to be dishonest regarding the information given I genuinely was not aware of that at the time.
I was unable to do a full comparison of all alcohol markers .. my RUclips channel is not monotized as such buying products for these videos comes out of my own funds I genuinely could not afford to purchase more than I did … I am currently collecting more markers to remake this video so I will definitely look at getting the Shinhan markers
Thank you for your input and advice 😍😍
@@JuliaMcNeillCrafts Yeah, sadly even after over a year or so, Ohuhu still has just 50 refills, and there has been radio silence on when they will release more. Thats why Im holding back with buying them for now. Honestly, tho. They charge €6 per refill. Shinhan refills also cost €6 where I live. And they at least have high quality ink and consistent colors in their refills. So I see no reason to buy Ohuhus. There are cheaper alternatives out there.
Maybe you could order a small set of Shinhans on A-zon and test them for your video, then simply return them afterwards and get ur money back? Thats the best option when ur just testing stuff and dont plan to keep it.
Yeah I made this video a year ago so the limited number of Ohuhu refills was not widely known it seemed like they were doing them all
It’s good to know that the pens you mentioned also do refills that’s a biggy for me & the main reason that for me copic remain my favourite even though they more expensive
I can try the pens you mention .. the thing I find difficult about markers other than copics are
Refills are hard to get hold of especially in the UK
Thank you very much for the info .. I look forward to trying out more pens soon 😍😍
it's 2024, and Copic aren't on top anymore. Not even Prismacolor is the best... In fact, there are so many super cheap priced markers that blow everything out of the water
I agree there are many new brands coming up which is great it gives us far more choice as a consumer. As I said in the video I felt the hobbycraft markers & the Ohuhu markers comparable & I really enjoy using them 😊 .. I have found myself using them more and more. I just wish refills and the ability to by one marker was more available for some of these other brands x
