I wanted to go med , but I got a scholarship for dentistry. I was sad at first . But the more I look into dentistry, the more I realize that it is in fact the right path . I want to be just like you , you’re inspiring!.
OMG! I'm going through something very very similar. I live in Mexico and here universities and colleges work a little different; I'm 21 and I'm currently in 2nd year of medical school but some months ago I realized that I'm not completely happy with my career choice... I did find out that I really like health care, but I've also always been a very hands-on person and I wanted something that gave me the opportunity to do both; and that's when I decided to go to dental school. I have to admit that I was terrified to make a bad decision by leaving med school and I was super worried about what people was going to say, but the more I look into dental school, the more convinced I get that is the best choice for me. Now I have to go through the whole admission process again, but I'm super excited to do this, and if everything goes as planned, I'll be starting dental school next semester. I can't believe I found your video in the right moment. ❤️
Hi, even I had been confused about what I wanted to do . I have applied for dental school but here in india we start that as soon as we are out of high school . Listening to you right now really helped me be sure that this is what I want to do . Thank you
You are so confident and inspire me ! I applied to medical school this february and my life is getting a major turn ! 😍 I’m so happy right now with my decision and know it was the good one. I studied law and got almost to the point of being a lawyer, but I was so unhappy with the prospect working in the field of law and not in medecine that I became completely depressed and ill, to the point that my body betrayed me because of all the stress. Now I’m back in the game, I put on weight, muscle, can eat again, do sports and for the first time in years (5 years 🤨) I’m HAPPY, relaxed and working hard for my dream. Women in medecine rock ! 🚑💉💊
You're a very captivating speaker. I usually try to watch videos that are around 5 min or so, so I was hesitant to click on this one. But once I did you drew me in and the next thing I knew the video was almost over. Best of luck to you in your career.
what i find interesting is that i started dentistry when i was 17 . This is normal in our country even for med school. Nobody tells us that we are young
Thanks. Actually i was too much worried coz i havent got mbbs seat. And as no other option was left so i entered bds. You video actually motivated me And gave me hope that i can even do well after bds. Plz guide me a lot. I m from india. Which is famous for taking tough medical competitive entrances
This was very inspirational. I’m currently take 2 yeas off from college because I decided to go into the military. I’m trying to plan out my future. I was the same as you when it came to my end goal being medical school, however life doesn’t go as plan (hints to me taking 2 years off lol) However, I’m also interested in dentistry well. Your story gave me some insight on what I might want to do in the future. Thank you
Mona E. Exactly my problem. I already into dental school ( first year now ) and a lot of people are saying they’re somehow artistic. I’m totally not. I’m scared that maybe i should’ve gone to med school😢
Mona E. I really don’t think it will. my program is a 5 year program and we don’t get to do any actual dentistry work until second year. So now we’re just having theory classes. But whenever I pass by upper year students working in clinics or labs it gets me so excited and motivated to stay in dental school. Plus the things we are learning now are pretty interesting so i hope I’m making the right decision.
90's again I would never go into Med school LOL. But im sure we will be okay. I do velieve that hard work can overcome non artistic skills. Ive heard many stories of people who couldnt even draw a straight line and are amazing dentists so Dont worry! I just feel like being artistic will give you an upper hand but i dont think it will effect us in the long run! Good luck with everything!
Very inspiring! Can you please talk more about your journeynto Dental school. For example, did the admission committee question you about the 3 years gap?
OMG!! I found the right person to ask these questions. How did you complete medical school after dental school? Are they any shorter MD programs that you can complete right after dental school to receive your MD degree?
I've always been interested in omfs but with back problems and now that dental school is so expensive I'm second guessing on whether it's worth it. I've worked as a dental assistant for six years and the idea of being stuck in general dentistry makes me want to barf...so I'm the opposite. I'm considering medical school because generally there are more opportunities that I'm interested in and it's less expensive...I'm just not sure I'm competitive enough, even though I just completed a master's degree...
Lol I've been an assistant for about 15 years 7 with my current boss and I was back and forth between dental and medical as well finishing up my Master's now as well. Lifestyle is very different. You have to truly be passionate about medicine. Well about whatever you pursue. with a master's you're definitely competitive. do your research. I spent days on RUclips watching medical students and doctors blog about the Journey and their lives and I don't think it's for me
This is so inspiring.. I wanted to do the same but I feel like I've heard a lot of people say you cannot have a family life.. Can you talk about that and also starting at 30? As a woman.. Is it too late? I personally think it's never too late but would love your opinion coz you're in the midst of it all.
The Zen Show wait if this is true, then I’m so happy for you, I just started dental school, but I’m 17, I’m in a country where it’s directly after high school, it’s a 6 year program. Best of luck to you!
I'm currently studying to be a dental therapist but I'm also fascinated in becoming an oral surgeon as well later on. Unfortunately, I don't have that opportunity here. Only to obtain a DDS. Any recommendations of Universities of where you went to do your schooling to become a surgeon?
Hi I have a completely unrelated question for you. Some 5 years ago I had my right canine tooth develop some decay at the top near the gum line, I went in and had it filled with tooth colored material and it was simple and easy and that filling is still going strong til this day. Ironically now I have the same exact kind of decay on my left canine, same exact location, looks the exact same, except this time on my treatment plan they have that tooth listed as needing a “pulp cap indirect” rather than “composite filling”. Why would it say that? I’ve seen way worse teeth get filled, the decay is strictly on the front of the tooth, there’s nothing in between or on the back side of the tooth, shouldn’t I be able to have it filled normally? I don’t want a pulp cap, unless on the front teeth it’s common to just call it that but you’re not really doing the same procedure as you would on say a back molar or something. If you have any advice I’d greatly appreciate it.
KaPKaN instead of taking electives like art n chorus n keyboarding etc take the required classes to graduate u need about 4 english classes 4 math , 3 science , 3 social studies , 1 pe ( depends on each state)
What's the difference between the 4 and 6 year OMFS program? Does the 6 year program qualify you to do more/better after you graduate? If yes, can you tell me how?
In most states in the US (not all of them), the 6 year program allows the residents two years to complete medical school and get an MD so that they can sit for medical licensure to become a physician. The 4 years programs do not confer an MD degree and these residents are not capable of getting a medical license.
I'm fairly sure that all undergraduate Dentistry programs in Australia require satisfactory completion of both Maths Methods and Chemistry. La Trobe University (Bendigo Rural Health School) also requires satisfactory completion of Biology in order for an applicant to be considered for Dentistry.
I’m super nervous because I can’t choose between pharmacy or dentist and i have to choose today I’m literally crying right now please I need help , wich one is a better career in USA witch one is less stressful and get you more money and off course the most important questions is witch one give you the chance to help people more , sorry about my bad english , please any one see my comment help me please
To all you young people considering dentistry ...don't do it....its horrible. There are so many better ways to make a living out there. Take your time to find what you really want to do. Dentistry is one of the hardest professions one can take.
okay can you please help me, I am studying in a dental school right now, I want to take the 6 year path with the med school involved, I can do that after I finish dental school or do I have to double major in medicine and dentistry for the dual degree ?? :/
Should I go to dental school at age 45 or should I become a dental hygienist? I'm concerned about my age and cost of dental school to pay loans off....
When u said u toke high school in 3 years and u undergraduate, after u graduates what did u do? how did u apply to dental school? Did u got into med college before u applied because what read that u have take the degree,i dont know honestly im confused, can u tell me please during that time what happened? Bc im planning to go dmd program
You graduated college in 2 years right? Did you take college classes in high school? And what pre requisite classes did you take in college. I'm a sophomore in highschool and i plan on graduating college in 2 years when I get there. I'm an aspiring dentist so I'm really curious☺
I wanted to go med , but I got a scholarship for dentistry. I was sad at first . But the more I look into dentistry, the more I realize that it is in fact the right path . I want to be just like you , you’re inspiring!.
What school gave you a scholarship
Scholarships? Which institution
Can you please make a video talking more about your timeline of dental school and what you did to get into omfs residency? Thanks!

Dentistry is a great career! You will enjoy the hands-on part in dental school if you’re a hands-on person :) Good luck
Hi, how is it going 😊? Si estudiaste eso al final? Y si sí, qué tal?
Are u in med school or dent school now pleas
I’m currently deciding between my DDS and MD offer. You inspired me and touched on my perspective on why I want to pursue dentistry XD
Hi, even I had been confused about what I wanted to do . I have applied for dental school but here in india we start that as soon as we are out of high school . Listening to you right now really helped me be sure that this is what I want to do . Thank you

your video spoke right through my heart! I'm going through the same thing. Thank you for your sincerity and sharing your experience
Omg 4 yrs of dental school is super hard enough. But 6 more years of schooling that’s insane. You must be brilliant.
Love your video, had the same feeling weeks ago and know I am looking forward to dentistry ♡ thanks

Very inspirational. Thanks🌹
Thanks.

Do you have to be creative/artistic to do well in dentistry/dental school? Im going to dental school next year but im anything but artistic
Mona E. Exactly my problem. I already into dental school ( first year now ) and a lot of people are saying they’re somehow artistic. I’m totally not. I’m scared that maybe i should’ve gone to med school😢
90's again Is it really affecting your performance?
Mona E. I really don’t think it will. my program is a 5 year program and we don’t get to do any actual dentistry work until second year. So now we’re just having theory classes. OMG I finally found a youtuber thats interested in the OMFS yessss😆😆😆
kawaii koibito ikr...all the rest are some 70 year olds
Anyone wants to decide OMFS they should do go to your local hospital and shadow real cases. Then youll get an idea
OMG!! I found the right person to ask these questions.

I’m so confused, did you do 6 years AFTER dental school? Or does that include the 4 years of dental school
IwasDiana pretty sure after. Oral max facial residency I believe is the longest in dental
Yes so 4years of dental school + 6years to specialize in OMFS
@@Koricometh Orthodontics is the longest
@@ajaoifeoluwa8688 No. omfs is the longest dental specialty. It's 4-6 years. Ortho is 2-3 years
Here in russia the bachelor’s is 6 years !
I feel like this is exactly what happened to me but I just graduated hs

Jeff Meisner Do the math and dental school would for be a good economical choice assuming you working for a good amount of years.
beautiful Dr @ future MD oral and maxillofacial surgeon
That is a well put together outfit haha
Hi! Can I do a MD after completing my Bachelors in Dental Surgery in US/Canada if I don't want to practice dentistry?
@CLOUT in most countries the dental degree isn't DDS... It's BDS short for bachelor of dental surgery
Do colleges give loans?
I love you ❤️💕😘 ok, I love your energy 🌷💕
It will take you 20 years or more to pay off your loans
