- Did you know this interesting fact about Dishonored?
The game was initially going to be set in feudal Japan. But the directors of the game knew nothing about that period so they went for a 17th century London during the black plague but they encountered the same problem so they scrapped that period but kept the idea of the plague in mind. In the end, they would create Dunwall which takes the inspiration from the cities of London and Edinburgh between the 19th and 20th century.

Honestly, its for the best. The design they went for is great and very unique
Thank God... Otherwise we wouldn't have ghost of Tsushima...
actually it's because Arcane studios was purchased by Bethesda after it's co-creators met with Todd Howard and pitched it's rough concept of a stealth action game. later after the increase of funding for Skyrim they were told to work on a title "dishonored" a stealth ninja game, but arcane pitched their first concept and it was decided that instead of Japan, their Victorian sci-fi cosmic horror idea would be it's basis.
A japanese dishnored will be so dope
The folding blade with a katana steampunk design would be sick
It will be a completely different game
@@Leworld it would be a change of settings
@@LeworldThe world is very big in Dishonored with continents and countries that haven’t been touched on yet. I imagine a Japan-equivalent is easily in there somewhere.
It also touches base with an industrial revolution, giving a steampunk feel to it. It wasnt inspired by the events of the plague alone. I dont think they would have been able to pull off anything similar with a japanese setting.
Tbh i just didn’t see a japanese setting working with imo.
ah yeah the "ninja pitch" era of Dishonoreds development
Edinbug gg 😂
Watch The Interview
So they went bloodborne instead of sekiro
Exactly 😂😂😂
I was thinking about that, i didnt knew why i liked dishonored so much but then i remember the similarities to bloodborne in map design.
It reminds me more of bioshock than anything else
It came out 3 years before Bloodborne.
Kudos to the devs for not trying to wing their way through a Japanese period theme
Frfr
That makes sense. I always thought the 4 nations in Dishonored (Gristol, Serkonos, Tyvia and Morley), were inspired in some way by the 4 main japanese islands.
