Can I add chocolate chips while I’m mixing the ingredients?

You absolutely can, I add my chocolate chips right after I pour them into the pan and with a fork I dip it into the batter them cover the exposed chip with a small layer of batter. I do this so I have control over how many chocolate chips are in each pancake. Hope this a helps.
