I got this beauty for Christmas 2 years ago. Greatest Lego set of all time, as well as the biggest and most detailed. Not to mention super heavy! It's well worth the price if you're a Star Wars fan and you want the best of the best. The UCS Millenium Falcon is the ultimate dream set to have, and anybody who owns it should consider themselves lucky. I know I do :)
@@quasar55cancrie65 thats honestly the best way to go, if im gonna spend 850$ (its even more expensive where im from) for a lego set, i wouldn’t go for finishing it in like 3 days.
I just got mine delivered from Amazon, straight from the LEGO factory itself for the original $800 price tag and it's probably going to take me an entire month to build it by myself.
I enjoyed this detailed review and comparison, thank you. I have the UCS, regular and Kessel run versions, so it looks great to have them all together, although I put the UCS set in a display coffee table instead of a stand......for now. The only thing I will disagree with you about are the mini figures. I don’t think making a comparison with a play set is the fair comparison, but rather it should be compared to other UCS sets. Typically, these sets are intended to be for display so they don’t come with many figures, in fact most of them come with no more than two figures. The only other exception is the Sandcrawler, but that’s a weird UCS set that really looks more like a play set. I just don’t think that only having 7 figures should be a criticism of this set, although not including Luke and Obi is strange if your going to have mini figures. Thanks again for posting this review.
In terms of the mini figures, someone asked on the Lego site “why isn’t R2D2 included, particularly as he was instrumental in repairing the hyperdrive”. The explanation from Lego was that it from the time in Episode V, when Luke and R2D2 where on Dagobah, thus also after Obe-wan had been killed by Vader. Hence why they weren’t included.
Very recently ordered this, for the quite nice price of $690 - totally worth every penny, I am sure. According to the mail tracking, it should arrive on wednesday. I see several sick days coming up in my near future... Or perhaps not, as I probably need to work overtime to save up for the UCS Razor Crest. Oh well - first world problems.
Just got mine a few days back after getting Luke’s landspeeder. Sort of got the Star Wars bug now. Can’t quite bring myself to crack the seals on it yet though 😂
Disagree with Ep IV Luke and Old Obi-Wan (Owen Lars) being included, as the set is for Ep V and Ep VII. Should have had Lando, R2, and Luke (post-Vader duel) instead. But I certainly agree that the number of minifigs is still a little disappointing. A 3PO with a dual-molded leg would have been pretty nice also.
It's a piece of cake to move that on the Efferman stand. The only thing to worry about is not tilting it forward so the top panels fall off. If it wasn't for this stand I wouldn't have purchased the Lepin version of this set as it's too big sitting on its landing gear. Oh and pennies WERE spared, hence those darn stickers. I had to go to Steindrucker's to purchase the pre-printed pieces. It should also include R2-D2 and C-3PO.
Yeah, it’s worth it if you have the funds or financing. I’m still building mine. I’ve had to put mine on hold, because LEGO forgot to include enough 3x3 plates in one of the #10 bags. They should be here in a few days. Fun, fun build, though.
Nice review. My issue with this set is how expensive it is compared to how fragile it is. As I was building mine I kept seeing ways I thought they were going to tighten things up like most sets do, but it never happened. This kit could easily be a more sturdy build with some minor re-engineering early in the build, I'm not about to break mine down to fix it.
Fragile? Which part of the build is fragile? Other than the panels that slide in with technic axles I don’t really see which part could be considered fragile
You could argue that the reason this set doesnt have luke and obi wan is because the set is based off the empier strikes back and the force awakens because of the satilite.
Great review. One of the most detailed I've seen. I can't wait for it to come back in stock as it's at the top of my wish list. Question for you, I know you can fit 4 mini figs in the cockpit but is there space to fit any mini figs in other parts of the ship? Looks like one or two may be able to fit around the Dejarik game set? Thanks!
I understand the minifigs are underwhelming but it doesn’t come with Luke or kenobi cause it’s for episode 5 and episode 7 which they aren’t in the falcon those episodes
Call me pedantic, but i allways got slightly triggered by Lucas' team designating this ship as a freighter...it just doesn't seem big enough....100 metric tonnes cargo...? Really?!
I feel like it’s a crucial part of a serious collector’s display, yet Han Solo and the Falcon are my least favorite character and ship in the OT. Don’t know what to do...

There is no way I would have picked that thing up like that! 😂 I was freaking out lol
@7:08 The round sensor dish is printed, not a sticker. It is also quite expensive (at least $18.00) at Bricklink in Nov 2020.

Thats becase every star wars legp fan has about 673 r2d2s
Lego should have included a stand at that angle as an option in the box. Flat is just too huge for many people to easily display
6:58 you call the older dish the newer one and the new one the older one
My bad. Well then, I prefer the newer brick built one!

stirred, not shaken No I genuinely think he doesn’t have a Ben so he put in Owen Lars instead without realising 😂
It will be worth it because the price will blow up when it retires! I would really really love this set but it’s so far out of my price range! 😏
Use a credit card. Take out a loan. Save up every penny. Whatever. Just don't wait. GET IT NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

Absolute bad color choice of the Efferman‘s stand! Are these spare parts or new ones? I orderd all pieces of the stand in black, and the pins in red.
It’s the best lego set ever!!

8:01 that is not Ben kenobi, that is uncle Owen
The first scene when he moved it made me nervous. I don't even have the set
I don’t know if to get the 2019 version of the falcon or the ucs but 800 dollars is a lot tho......
I would advise to get the UCS if you can, it will hold it's value and it's an amazing build
FYI. This model is for DISPLAY ONLY. And you have to carry it with both hands as if you are carrying and infant.
Is it worth it is up to you to decide, you buy it with your heart because you love it
THAT IS NOT BEN KENOBI. IT IS UNCLE OWEN.
You could argue that the reason this set doesnt have luke and obi wan is because the set is based off the empier strikes back and the force awakens because of the satilite.
Luke and Obi Wan are not included because this is the Empire Strikes Back version and they weren’t on the Falcon in the movie.
That was Uncle Owen not Obi Wan. Great vid though!
One of the largest? It IS the largest LEGO set by piece count of all time! It likely won’t be surpassed for many years more

Yes the brick built radar is nice but the dish personally is preferred because of the original trilogy

It’s beautiful, but I would never spend that much money to own a LEGO set.
This is not spending but investment.
