lately I've been doing a lot more music and singing than I've been animating, so if you're wondering why I haven't really posted any animations in a while, I'm pretty burnt out on ideas. I am working on things, there's some stuff going on behind the scenes here and there on a few animation ideas I've had. Just been needing a break.
Anyways I absolutely fell in love with this album and really wanted to cover something from it. I liked this song and "old country" quite a lot, so I decided to learn them both. I also finally took a chance at recording an actual midwestern-emo-style scream for this, which I'm not too experienced in, but thankfully it came out better than I expected and I'm pretty proud of my overall vocal performance on this. Recorded and mixed in Audacity

Holy hell!! I doubt you’ll see this but this cover imo surpasses the og, though I may be biased cause I love your animations. When this first came out, I’ll admit I skipped past it because “it wasn’t an animation” I thought. But over a year later, it’s legitimately one of my favorite songs. saw in your tiktok that this was done in audacity. How did you record ur guitars in audacity??? i've been trying to figure this out lol
Heyo! I record most of my music with a live setup. I have a Shure SM57 set up in front of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV amplifier. I also use a bunch of effects pedals to play around with distortion and overdrive. For the lead noodly-sounding guitar, I used an MXR Studio Compressor into the overdrive channel of a Truetone Jekyll & Hyde. For the rhythm guitars, I used an Ibanez Tube Screamer.
I don't do much audio mixing in Audacity itself, just panning and playing around with gain. I always try to have my guitar mixed before it even hits the microphone because I hate fiddling around with software too much lol
