    My husband has vascular dementia and very high blood pressure. He takes 50mg metoprolol twice a day & now taking Amlodipine 10mg once a day. Amlodipine has worked wonders for his dementia. A very big improvements with his memory. For us it's a miracle drug. And his blood pressure has improved as well. Great video!

      On Amlodipine and it is probably responsible for the edema I am experiencing on the right ankle and leg. The inflammation does not seem to go away even though have not taken it for a while now due to the low BP.

    Since taking this tablet, I have been having irritating sctrathing throat since last year. I realised when it started I stop taking it. After few weeks the itchy throat stops.

    The best way I found to use Amlodipine is to put the unopened box above my cupboard and look at it every morning. It works and saves money for the national health service (here in France the Sécu, the Sécurité Sociale).

    I’m on Amlodipine and it’s starting to cause insomnia! I’m on 5mg should I cut in half to see if that helps?

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Год назад +1

      5mg is still relatively low, but if if is causing problems, then double check with your provider to see if he will approve you reducing the dose. I have seen 2.5 mg used in some cases, but you doctor will be the best judge of the situation. All the best.

    I had DVT in my left leg last your July. I had stopped my blood thinner but my leg is still swollen, can it be because of Amlodipine. Thank you

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  2 года назад +2

      Can't say for sure, but I wouldn't rule it out. See what your doctor thinks about that because swelling due to Amlodipine is relatively common. All the best.

    Should I worry if my eyesight gets a little blurry after taking Amlopine 5mg?

    • @darrenhirst9900

      It relaxes the blood vessels so blood can pump easier. When there is resistance your heart has to work harder, so more force on your veins and heart.
      Just ring your optician she might say its normal or might ask you to come in for a check up to make sure there is nothing serious going on.

    Sorry, my English is bad. I have a consultation, a day ago the doctor increased the dose of amlodipine from 5mg to 10mg. The problem is that I have 5mg pills and I want to know if I have to take 2 pills a day at the same time or 1 5mg pill every 12 hours.

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  7 месяцев назад

      Usually if your prescription says once daily, it means you take 10 mg at the same time. In that situation, two 5mg tabs at the same time will be the way to go. This is general in nature, so please check with your doctor what he wants specifically for you.

    Hello Mr Pharmacist... can l ask a question please. I recently been taking Naproxen for back pain. I didn't see my gp as l already had some at home. I took them every day for about a fortnight. Now l have low right side discomfort in my abdomen and my stool is looking yellow, could l have caused myself damage?
