I agree with all you are saying. I have been thinking the same thing. They just look sloppy. Maybe need to practice better. I wonder if they made a bunch of changes to how they practice?
Im a new fan, so obviously I believe in them, I haven't been ripened by 30 years of watching them fail I only know about it. Let's go Mariners, Julio is gonna get hot in July like last 2 years.
While it would be impossible, I just want to have some crazy hypothetical scenario/experiment. We bring in the best players at each position from the entire league, would we have similar results? Because it's just sometimes I feel especially in the first quarter of the season in the past couple years, we could have brought in the best most expensive free agents and we would still have this issue. Maybe it's the "because it's the Mariners, syndrome" but overall it's just so frustrating and there isn't a clear answer to it other than they need to be better.
We need this offense to start rolling!

Julio is downright awful at the plate. Pretty sure the team isn’t paying him just to be an above average player running down fly balls. He’s made some bad base running decisions as well if he does get on base. France needs to be shipped off. Was angry that he wasn’t let go in the off season.
Abraham Toro, who used to strike out almost every AB with the M's, has actually been pretty solid with the A's.
