It doesn't matter how much enemies you kill once you've reached the power plant in Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, the only thing that game wants you to do is to run and avoid all those soldiers and monoliths, and get inside the sarcophagus, then you fight the monoliths all the way, once you're inside, not outside, that's the point, because as you can see, you've already died, twice, fighting them outside the power plant, it's not meant to fight them outside, because they will spawn again and again, no matter how many of them you kill, just so you know.
I don't think it would be possible to visit Chernobyl right now, regarding the circumstances in Ukraine, and who knows when it will be, unfortunately...
