I'll tell you what...i was stuck and this video was everything I'd been looking for to finish up my trim pump seal job. I lowered my boat nose, used a baby nose irrigation bulb and did about 4 cycles up and down adding fluid and boom it got me in business in no time...perfect how to video. EFF all the haters on your vid man. THANK YOU! THANK YOU...THANK YOU!!!
thanks, some times these can be a pain to fill but this way made it easy as well I tried to use the power tilt/trim that had the cone lid yet it failed at filling it, then did it this way and this made it easy work
So glad this help you as I was in the same thing looking thru videos but was still so in covered of how to get the oil in a small hole with stuff they sale at the store
It worked for me... had to keep forcing fluid in and seal up run up and down...then do it again... 3rd or 4th time started to work on it's own. I did it a couple more times after that. Now it is working fine.
Thanks Dan! New subscribers. We've been trying to figure out how to do this on our Merc. Tryna get her ready. Fishing/Video making season is here!! Gonna try to hit the "Bash" this year. Need some new water. Hopefully it runs deeper than White River? Seems like just about everywhere we go in White River, we cant find anything deeper than 4 feet!! But great video man! Thanks again!!
thanks and the Wabash runs around 5-8ft at low stage yet there is deep pockets along many of the river bends from 20ft to even a deep 50ft hole up above terre haute boat ramp
Marine tilt trim hydraulic fluid has certain emulsifiers in it and it sticks to parts to prevent water intrusion. If your seals are good, you can get away with conventional power steering or even 10W40 oil for super cheap and it will work. I would only do that if your motor is not still under warranty as it might void it.
I just changed the seals in top cap. Bleading and Bleading. Plenty bubbles coming from top seal. Do I keep doing this process till bubbles are gone. Any help be much appreciated.
My tilt goes right up but comes all the way back down in a short period of time but not immediately. Is that a hydraulic leak? or what? Thanks for any help
1993 johnson 70 .trim motor works. But won't lift engine.sat 2 yrs.i can manually lift it but it won't stay up. I'm gonna try adding fluid. The 3 pegs come out but once the weight of engine is on them they go down pretty quick .no fluid leaking out of seals.so I guessing it's empty.
MORNING GARDENER'S SHOW. yes many days on the water I catch no fish. it's just some days the fish don't want to bite or maybe it's the bait I use on that day or the location I fish. that's why I all ways carry dip bait in my tackle box it can make smaller catfish bite when other baits wont.
Best video and knowledge I've heard. No 1 around here knew it was self bleeding saying you have to bleed it or leave the cap off

@@FatBoyDan yes. Works great now
Thanks, I used a syringe with no needle, easy as, the bugger took 120ml of fluid. The I raised it up and down a few time and topped it up.
I am mechanical idiot and it worked!!! Thanks!!! 3x a charm.

Could this be the reason my tilt trim won’t go up or down at all ? Johnson 200
I just changed the seals in top cap. Bleading and Bleading. Plenty bubbles coming from top seal. Do I keep doing this process till bubbles are gone. Any help be much appreciated.
Great video!
Do do I need to tighten the pressure screw all the each time after each try or tighten after it stars working
if same out board as mine just follow how I did.
My tilt goes right up but comes all the way back down in a short period of time but not immediately. Is that a hydraulic leak? or what? Thanks for any help
sounds like it as mine did that over time on another boat.
good information
I cant seem to even get the trim fluid to go into the hole. Its like it just runs out everywhere! Advice please..
Is this really the best opening music you could come up with?
does nap town have good catfish spots
yes along the river bank is some of the spots that I know about.
Bought a used a used lemon, ain't even put in the water and I'm working on it. Thanks for your video
Sweet man thanks!
But does it weep down over night
Hi, do you know if seals are available separately? I need the 2 of the lid of the power trim
That im not 100% sure of. Try the manufacturer pr locally boat shop
My 150 evinrude will tilt up or down...when i’m in the water if i tilt up and apply gas it’ll come down on its own. any idea anyone?
sounds like a air leak/seal or could just need some fluids added to it
🎣 FatBoy Dan's Great Outdoors 🎣 hasn’t had fluid added as it’s been sitting for few years plus
🎣 FatBoy Dan's Great Outdoors 🎣 is it a certain kind that it’s evinrude?

So what is the fluid capacity of these cylinders. Didn't look like you much more than few ounces in.
not sure on that fill, fill and fill, till full
I tried that and it still won't go up. I have a johnson 90hp. Thanks
Yeah same. Anyone figured out the issue? Was thinking maybe I didn't put enough oil in
Dan great video brother where you been at
been over on facebook under same name most the time now yet got new videos coming
Its good to here from you guy I cant wait to check em out
I’m in Indiana also and having issues swapping my tilt trim. I need help lmao
I was told to use regular 30 w motor oil, was I lied to.
Can a guy fill it too much? Will it blow seals?
You should be safe as some will drain back out. I let some drain out just so i d9nt over pressure it.
you ever have a day that the fish will not bite at all.?
MORNING GARDENER'S SHOW. yes many days on the water I catch no fish. it's just some days the fish don't want to bite or maybe it's the bait I use on that day or the location I fish. that's why I all ways carry dip bait in my tackle box it can make smaller catfish bite when other baits wont.
Or you can use the lid off your gear lube container and that hose you have.....yippity dippity done.
Why can’t you put dot 3 brake fluid in it I used it in my hydraulic jack and it holds up 3 tons no problem
It eats seals and everything else. Its nasty stuff
Power steering fluid works.
yoyoyo nigga great intro
Lmao.. has no one seen the closed captions?
the music suck had to fast forward it until i saw u working on the boat..
Dean Dye same here.
Why can't you just show the entire process... your corner cutting is annoying
Holy $hit son! Why have ghetto trash music intro? 👎🏻
the music SUCKS
