    I have severe autoimmune issues. Because of a life threatening disease, I must take steroids daily. This medication suppresses my immune system, so I used to constantly get sick in the Fall. My husband is a teacher, so he brings home viruses, even though he is not sick because his system fights them off. I have seen a huge difference since I started using Oxiclean. I also do a lot of cleaning with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, so I am in shock that they are basically the same thing. I am ordering this product today! It is much cheaper, and since we make most of our own cleaning products, this will not be a problem to add to our cleaning regimen.
    YOU should have a million subs and your own TV show! Thank you so much for your videos!!
    PS I have also been taking some incredible supplements that have boosted my immune system as well. Feeling so much better these days! Although I must avoid crowds during Flu season.

      Patti, I'm so happy you've been able to find so much to boost your health and improve the quality of your life!! As I understand, the SPC is often used as a shelf stable form of the hydrogen peroxide! It's nice to be able to mix up a "fresh batch" when you need it. I really hope this helps you, Patti! I wish you and yours good health, happiness and all things awesome. Blessings! 💕💪

      @Scorched Earth I'm so sorry to hear that. I have Addison's disease, plus a "laundry list" of other autoimmune diseases. Do you have to take steroids daily? Have you heard ot the website/blog called butyoudontlooksick.com and the "spoon theory?" The author also has Lupus.

      If I were you, I would add drinking & spraying homemade colloidal silver & eating the food grade diatomaceous earth. I have autoimmune issues & I already do that. You can start by making colloidal silver with three 9 volt batteries & the silver rods which are not expensive to buy. Then buy a good Brewer to make collateral silver once you recognize its worth.

    Great video! I've used sodium percarbonate/ Oxiclean for years, but still managed to pick up new tips from your video. My local beer brewing store in Northern California sells percarbonate for 5 lbs for $14. I used to buy Oxiclean brand from Costco when it went on sale for under $20 for 11.6 lbs. Unfortunately, Oxiclean also contains alcohol ethoxylates, which are effective cleaning agents, but can be contaminated with carcinogens. (Examples of ethoxylated products include alcohol ethoxylates, PPG, PEG, polysorbate and ingredients that end in -eth such as laureth, steareth, ceteareth, most famously sodium laureth sulfate.) Because of skin irritation I've switch to using straight hydrogen peroxide 3% in the laundry instead of percarbonate, and save the percarbonate for serious stains.

    Question: which is more cost effective? Sodium Percarbonate or Oxi Clean? I will definitely try this. When we had carpet, I used to use washing soda in place of carpet cleaner. It had less suds and a pleasant smell. I never knew anyone else that tried this. Happy cleaning!

    For at least a year now I’ve been using one part OxiClean to one part washing soda (not baking soda) to wash my clothes. I make up a batch in a large plastic container and add a measuring teaspoon to the container. I add 1 tsp of this mix to my washing machine, like any other powder detergent.
    Hint: to crush lumps in the mix when making this, I use my metal potato masher.

    💜🦄 hi Wendy!😊 you didn't just have me smiling from the beginning, you bad me laughing!🤣😂😅😀 so cute! 🥰 seriously though, I have learned a lot. i haven't ever used Oxi Clean. i do remember their early-days infomercials, though lol! i didn't have any idea about the excellent cleaning and disinfecting properties of sodium percarbonate. now I do. and i'll also do the smart thing and order it through amazon. *many, many thanks* for taking the time to make this, Wendy 🤗😘💐🦋🦚🌸🌺🐢⚘🌱🐠🎶🥰❤ love, Tinkerbell 🧚‍♀️

      😍 One of my favorite duos🧚‍♀️🦄💜! I'm so happy I could bring smiles and laughs to you! I started out using OxiClean then switched over to the sodium percarbonate and like it a lot better. I remember those informercials! They kept me company during my late night study sessions 😅.
      I hope you get to try it! I think they might sell it in smaller quantities. Or if you have a Whole Foods near you I heard they "Oxygen Whitening Powder", but it's not pure SPC, probably more like OxiClean without fragrance.
      Thank you so much for your very kind words and support! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🧚‍♀️

    Wendy wonderful tips ... thank you so much! Do you have a way to get hidden gunk out of a washing machine? I have heard that it builds up and we can't see it. I've seen l a awesome oxyclean at dollar tree ... is that the same? Or is it better to buy spc from Amazon?

    • @TheFrugalMinimalist
      @TheFrugalMinimalist  4 года назад +1

      Hi Cathy! For cleaning a washing machine, I'd really use the DT stuff. I've heard of some using oxyclean to clean a washing machine. They fill with hot water and just let it soak for hours, then run the water through. It only works on top loaders as I understand.
      SPC I like more for food stuffs because it's pure. DT has the sodium percarbonate and others ingredients/fillters, while the one I listed on Amazon is food grade. I hope this helps!

    Thank you for sharing. Would this help to lift grease off of kitchen appliances and cabinets? I use a commercial degreaser but it's quite strong and I have to use gloves and be careful not to inhale it. I'm curious if this would be a safer option

      @TheFrugalMinimalist  5 лет назад +1

      🤔 I have not tried on cabinets, but I do use it on the fridge. I'd only be concerned about it lifting paint off cabinets. Let me try it out when I can and I'll let you know!

    Hi, it's really great video. I wonder if i dissolve spc to room temparature water, can it work as good as hot temperature water? Thanks

      Hi the hot water works best. It will work in cold but it will need a lot of time. I hope this helps!

    Which brand of sodium percarbonate do you use. I searched in Amazon and could not find the one like you showed on this video.

      Hi, I linked the one I bought from amazon, but it looks like it is no longer available from that seller :( The brand is Brewmaster.

      Hi Loraine, that is actually a glass shelf door I found in Ikea's clearance section. It was two of them for $20, but it had no hardware with it. I think it's this one - www.ikea.com/us/en/p/morliden-glass-door-aluminum-30279755/ - or something very similar. And on the inside I put a curtain I found also from the clearance section 😅. I hope this helps!

    does it clean oven? and the kind you buy has a fragrance?

    • @TheFrugalMinimalist
      @TheFrugalMinimalist  5 лет назад

      I have not tried it in the oven actually! If I do, I'll come back and let you know.
      This has no fragrance! It's marked as 99% pure sodium percarbonate. I'm not sure exactly what the rest of the 1% is, but I think it's the coating to keep the product from clumping. I hope this helps!

    Wendy, after the water get cool will the solution still work?

    • @TheFrugalMinimalist
      @TheFrugalMinimalist  4 года назад

      Yes it will work once the solution is cool - as long as the granules are dissolved it'll work! But if starting with cold water and putting the granules it will take a long time - like overnight.
