What is marriage? A formal union, social and legal contract between two individuals, that unites their lives legally, economically, emotionally & sexually. In all religions, it also gives legitimacy to sexual relations within the marriage.
Hindu marriage harmonizes two individuals for ultimate eternity, so that they can pursue: Dharma (Truth), Arth (meaning), Kama (worldly desires).
The marriage festivities are colourful & can take several days, with a lot of music & dance.
